When I first watched this video last year, I agreed with you gents about the Caterham driver blocking a lot. But when I studied it again, I changed my view; he didn't "weave" all over the place, as you allege. To guys who don't race, it may appear he is weaving. But he is not. The leader is allowed to take any line he choses, and Lydden Hill clearly rewards a defensive line. The leader in the white car, when he was safely clear of the car behind, merely took a defensive line (which is ultimately slower), and he eventually paid the price for that slower line, when de Garston brilliantly passed him on the outside. And the Lotus gave him enough room to cleanly pass. This is actually a great training video for young kart racers about studying your opponent ahead, and learning where to best execute a challenging pass.
As far as the opening lap, watch it again gents. The Lotus actually has a clean run on the inside of the leader (who pinches him off late on entry, and deserved to be spun - that WAS blocking). My hat is off to both the Caterham / Lotus and the Radical driver (the winner) in this race. A clean and hard-fought chess match.

I agree. The only thing on this video that I consider unfair is around 1:05 where the white car clipped Garston forcing him to brake way more than would be otherwise required, or drive to the grass. I'm not sure about the exact rules for this class but I prefer the rule that if the car behind is partially on your side, you must leave just enough room for the car to stay on track. The leading car is still free to defend *before* the following car is on the side.

Some people would have you believe that way should just be given to the overtaker. Hell no. It has to be earned, with persistence, which the Lotus driver did, but Caterham driver did a stellar job of defending til his last breath. 10/10 racing this
