I like to add for your viewers, that doing stuff like what you did with the drum mike is very important to do. Anything that separates your recordings from others out there including hardware and processes, you can really get a unique sound all your own. One thing that I do, is record an acoustic guitar on one track using a sound hole magnetic pickup and a Shure SM58 dynamic cardioid microphone on another track, the blend both tracks in the mix down. I'm tempted to get that drum mic you are showing.... LOL. Have a great week. - MrTom
I tried it on some occasions, one was a where I did from vocals to cheap acoustic guitars with a beta 52 knockoff. Really bright indeed, but it brought the body of the acoustic pretty well in the raw tracks. Later on I recorded another singer with that, but at a lower position (mic pos matters!) and it was gorgeous. The bleed on these actually sounds usable as well.

Paul McCartney famously used an AKG D12e kick drum for some vocals. It’s a good idea when you don’t have a ribbon handy.
