Yes, it woulda made more sense for Rey to be a Kenobi. Obi-Wan and Duchess Satine of Mandalore had their romance and Satine had a baby that she kept secret from Obi-Wan until the time was right, but after her death and Order 66 he never found out. That child grew up knowing of his/her parentage and eventually had Rey. So Rey would be both a Jedi and a Mandalorian. Imagine the story possibilities.
I dunno, regarding story possibilities: Rey is a Palpatine pretending to be a Skywalker, and is presumably going to try to bring back the Jedi in some form or another. That's a huge drama bomb just waiting to go off, when her secret gets out.

Surprised there was no mention of Billie Lourd stepping into her mother's role in The Rise of Skywalker. In the flashback scene where Luke was training Leia in the ways of the force, Billie Lourd played the younger version of Leia.

Miramir could've been part of a branch of the Kenobi family that left Stewjon, maybe Obi-Wan's great-great niece, someone that Dathan came across while on a mission for Palpatine, and their love inspired him to finally and fully break away from something he already hated. Their names were released in May of this year. It would've been interesting to have a heroine with both Dark AND Light-Side heritage, if only the powers that be had begun the journey to that reveal much sooner. 2] Billie Lourd also stepped in as the body-model for Leia, when they shot the flashback of the Skywalker twins' shared Jedi training. 3] That excuse about Kelly Marie Tran is total BS, because it was just one of many middle fingers in TROS's convoluted storyline. The subtitle for the movie should've been "Catering To The Haters", because so many of the changes made from TLJ were a direct response to things that were the most heavily complained about. Tervorrow's script sounded interesting to me. He was taking both of what JJ and Rian had put out there and building off of that. Unlike when Rian just ignored so much of what was laid out in the first movie. Force Awakens was a rehash of A New Hope but it also added some cool stuff with the new characters. They should have had one director for the entire trilogy. I had so much hope after the first one and I walked out of Last Jedi feeling meh. Some cool things in Rise but it was trying to fix all the complaints about Last Jedi. I would love for a directors cut of Rise but knowing Disney and Lucas Film not giving us the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy...not holding out hope.

Holdo Maneuver: Does similar damage with way cheaper production value. Logical assumption: No one would build a death star, if the technology of the Holdo Maneuver/(aka Hyperspace ramming) exists in the lore/canon/universe, for at least two reasons: Death Star is way too expensive compared to a single capital ship. Death Star would be a way too easy target for the Holdo Maneuver itself and no one would build it in the first place. Making the finding of any plans for a weakness redundant. (swep4 A new hope would be obsolete) Conclusion (Q.E.D.):Holdo Maneuver is not canon=>TLJ is not canon
Which was worse: "Solo" or "Rise of Skywalker"? The Rose character came off no more than a filler in "The Last Jedi". Bad writing. The actress deserved better. The whole Canto Bite subplot was almost completely pointless. The inclusion of Palpatine was clearly a "let's try and win over the fans" attempt. The survival of Palpatine (and pretty much the Death Star, as well) was ridiculous. I've heard complaints from fans that they didn't want him to return as a clone, but a clone would have made 10,000% more sense. I've imagined Ian McDiarmid acting as a clone without prosthetic makeup and I think that would have worked better.
Rogue One was amazing. Solo aside from L3 was good. The Force Awakens was ok. The Last Jedi was not good overall but im convinced if I changed 3 things it’d be a good movie, and ROS… there’s just nothing to be done for this absolute train wreck of a movie

I have watched all star wars movies and shows multiple times. Including ewok movies. But last jedi and rise of Skywalker just sucks so badly I can't do it. Only seen each once and they are absolute garbage. I was excited after force awakens and liked all characters. What we got is not worth anyone's time. This is of course subject to debate but to me this is the absolute worst of the nine episodic Star Wars movies. The Phantom Menace and Attack of Clones have their issues but at least they are coherent. The Rise of Skywalker is a mess through and through, and regardless of how one might feel about its immediate predecessor, it was a terrible idea to dismiss the plot and message of The Last Jedi.
One of the main problems with the film is that they HAD to include Leia even though Carrie was dead They should have killed her off in the first 5 minutes of the film so they weren't so hand tied
Episode IX is the only entry of the Disney War's universe I actually like. I still consider the 'Legends' universe to be the true one, having grown up reading those books all of my life. For Disney to have so casually disregarded the likes of the 'Thrawn Trilogy' and the 'Rogue/Wraith Squadron' books was absolutely sinful. Especially when what they gave us instead is such utter garbage.

ANAKIN Skywalker should have been the one to kill Palpatine. Rey could have handed Anakin his lightsaber (like she previously did with Luke). We also wanted to see VISIBLE Force Ghosts behind Anakin as he killed Palpatine. If Lucasfilm had to make two versions of the movie, one with Force Ghosts and one without, so be it. Some countries don’t believe in ghosts; The USA does: The Holy Ghost, Force Ghosts, etc.

Unlike when Rian just ignored so much of what was laid out in the first movie. Force Awakens was a rehash of A New Hope but it also added some cool stuff with the new characters. They should have had one director for the entire trilogy. I had so much hope after the first one and I walked out of Last Jedi feeling meh. Some cool things in Rise but it was trying to fix all the complaints about Last Jedi. I would love for a directors cut of Rise but knowing Disney and Lucas Film not giving us the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy...not holding out hope.
Yeah I find the criticism against JJ and Terrior that they "threw out" what Rian established hilarious...when Rian threw out what they established in the film prior. Like, I don't get how he gets a free pass for "throwing away" canon when JJ and Terrio don't. It's very bizarre, cherry picking fan psychology

Is it really though? Aren't practical effects supposed to feel "more real"? If people didn't realize that she was practical and thought she was CGI (some would just call it 'fake'), isn't that more of a failure? Prequel bashers complained for years about how CGI makes things look fake.

Holdo Maneuver: Does similar damage with way cheaper production value.
Logical assumption:
No one would build a death star, if the technology of the Holdo Maneuver/(aka Hyperspace ramming) exists in the lore/canon/universe, for at least two reasons:
Death Star is way too expensive compared to a single capital ship.
Death Star would be a way too easy target for the Holdo Maneuver itself and no one would build it in the first place. Making the finding of any plans for a weakness redundant. (swep4 A new hope would be obsolete)
Conclusion (Q.E.D.):Holdo Maneuver is not canon=>TLJ is not canon

The Rose character came off no more than a filler in "The Last Jedi". Bad writing. The actress deserved better. The whole Canto Bite subplot was almost completely pointless.
The inclusion of Palpatine was clearly a "let's try and win over the fans" attempt. The survival of Palpatine (and pretty much the Death Star, as well) was ridiculous. I've heard complaints from fans that they didn't want him to return as a clone, but a clone would have made 10,000% more sense. I've imagined Ian McDiarmid acting as a clone without prosthetic makeup and I think that would have worked better.
Palps was a clone with the spirit of the original inhabiting it.
Rogue One was amazing. Solo aside from L3 was good. The Force Awakens was ok. The Last Jedi was not good overall but im convinced if I changed 3 things it’d be a good movie, and ROS… there’s just nothing to be done for this absolute train wreck of a movie
Let me fix you. Rise of Skywalker was Amazing. Solo and Rogue One are good. Force Awakens could have been amazing if it was more original, Last Jedi was fine.

I have watched all star wars movies and shows multiple times. Including ewok movies. But last jedi and rise of Skywalker just sucks so badly I can't do it. Only seen each once and they are absolute garbage. I was excited after force awakens and liked all characters. What we got is not worth anyone's time. I feel bad for all who had to make these awful movies.

Calling the latter divisive gives it far to much credit. It was a lazy and poorly written entry, and I'm fairly sure that's the consensus.
I think the main problem with Rise of Skywalker is, that it spends too much time undoing or repair the trainwreck caused from the Last Jedi.
Imho, the reason Ryan Johnson didn't direct Rise of Skywalker was because he already accomplished his 'mission' with the Last Jedi by wrecking the whole series.
It's like he crashed a lend car, and gives it back to it's previous owner, and saying "I'm done. Here is your.... car."

This is of course subject to debate but to me this is the absolute worst of the nine episodic Star Wars movies. The Phantom Menace and Attack of Clones have their issues but at least they are coherent. The Rise of Skywalker is a mess through and through, and regardless of how one might feel about its immediate predecessor, it was a terrible idea to dismiss the plot and message of The Last Jedi.
One of the main problems with the film is that they HAD to include Leia even though Carrie was dead
They should have killed her off in the first 5 minutes of the film so they weren't so hand tied

Episode IX is the only entry of the Disney War's universe I actually like. I still consider the 'Legends' universe to be the true one, having grown up reading those books all of my life. For Disney to have so casually disregarded the likes of the 'Thrawn Trilogy' and the 'Rogue/Wraith Squadron' books was absolutely sinful. Especially when what they gave us instead is such utter garbage.

That really sunk the movie for me...along with the pointless Canto Bite subplot and pointless waste of Capt. Phasma for the second time.

ANAKIN Skywalker should have been the one to kill Palpatine. Rey could have handed Anakin his lightsaber (like she previously did with Luke). We also wanted to see VISIBLE Force Ghosts behind Anakin as he killed Palpatine. If Lucasfilm had to make two versions of the movie, one with Force Ghosts and one without, so be it. Some countries don’t believe in ghosts; The USA does: The Holy Ghost, Force Ghosts, etc.
Other than it’s an absolute train wreck of a movie. Abrams ruined SW.
