just don't do the one thing you're supposed to do at a gym and you're good. honestly, Planet Fitness's slogan at this point should be, "If you wanna work out you're at the wrong place"
Its not actually a sensitive alarm that goes off when a heavy weight is dropped, its a button that's used from behind the desk, and the pen video is also a joke vid
as someone who is the antithesis of athletic i have attempted to explore workout plans as a means of simply getting healthier, but after trying planet fitness i can safely say they literally only care about you paying for the memberships and couldn't give a rat's ass about your gym experiences, whether you're a newcomer or a "lunk." simply put they just don't tell you shit. my tour of the gym was just them showing me massage chairs where i need to pay for an upgraded membership to even use. the lady couldn't even describe ANY of the machinery and told me to just scan QR codes plastered all over them. i tried about four separate times to schedule a fitness instructor through PF's web portals and *all four times* these meetings were cancelled without reason. the only two times i actually went there, i was hopelessly lost and felt like i stuck out like a sore thumb, so like the last hour i was in the building i just did basic cardio. i dropped my membership after another failed scheduling. for a gym that gloats about acceptance it was disheartening to say the least. commercial gyms like planet fitness are just as worthless to genetic idiots like me as it is those who go for the grind. seeing them treat people who are actually thoroughly interested in fitness with utter discontent says a lot about their actual business practices versus their mission statement.
for the record since it seems to be the big talking point about this hell place, the PF i went didn't have a "lunk alarm" but i would assure you that even if i did persist in going there, a fucking nuclear siren just goes off in my ear while working out is probably a very easy way to get a panic attack or worse.
I still go to PF because it's right across the street from my work, but the lady at the front desk was overly friendly with me. Every time I work out she watched me and sometimes took photos of me working out and sent them to me. It's the only time I felt self conscious
If at all possible, try to find another place to work out from. It doesn't even have to be a gym, could be an outdoor training area with ladders and bars and shit. If you have free space in your home you can do some bodyweight workouts as well. If you can and want to go to another gym, don't be intimidated by built dudes there. The image of the roid-raging testosterone monster that PF's PR banks on is mostly just an illusion. Most bodybuilders are nice and humble people ready to help any newcomers, or at worst they'll just mind their own business. I've worked out at gyms semi-regularly for years and I've never encountered anyone like that.
my dad has multiple sclerosis and chooses to go to the gym so he can stay in better health, hopefully to live longer. He struggles sometimes with weights and can be loud, but nobody hates him for that, because hes minding his own business and no affecting anyone. He had a planet fitness membership and canceled because they kept harassing him about how he liifted his weights. Its embarrassing enough to see this, but to see employees harassing a disabled man over the sounds he makes while struggling to lift weights is far far worse.
for those who may not know, his condition allows him only a set amount of energy per day and its very hard for him to get more, he also gets exhausted suddenly and quickly, which results in stumbling and tripping or in the case of this video, sudden dropping of weights because he doesnt have the energy he thought he had.
Watching the evolution of pyro is so heartwarming. From leafy clone to PewDiePie clone to some of the best long form analysis on the platform, to avid furry enjoyer and now to critikal clone. He's really come full circle
I used to go to planet fitness…. Now I go to a private gym. I pay 25 dollars more but it’s actually trying to get you in shape. I’ve made so much gains and I’m 5 pounds away to get to my weight loss goal. It’s a competitive place but your competing with yourself. Great environment. Don’t got to those big chains. Got to a privately owned gym.
You're an idiot man, there's the same machines and weights at each gym. You can get fit with your own body weight ffs. Literally the only thing that separates how much you did at planet fitness or at a private gym is how much effort you put in
Private gyms are so much better than corporate gyms. You manage to get proper workout for less the amount and have healthy environment where people just come to improve, same as you and sometimes subsequently form relations due place just being chill and less on a radar for wider public.
Real shit. It's better in Europe but the commercial ones are usually full with the worst kind of people, are either overcrowded, dirty or have horrible music blasting in your ears so loudly that you turn deaf. I pay more now for a more-or-less private gym but the place is actually enticing to go to, I gain a lot more and have a lot of goodies to use. It's an absolute improvement.
Been watching ya Pyro since late 2016, I recall noticing your own weight loss/transformation, and always curious what approach you may have had. Every journey is personal and important. Also trust me 99% of bodybuilders don’t live up to the stereotypes, most of us are just invested in self Improvement, longevity, and genuinely will help each other.
Needs more comments like these in SUnnyv2-related videos, I mean those whose appreciating to straight up meme and patronising him is good and all but testimonies like these helps my thoughts focuses on loosing weight, I personally found cheating meals are slippery slope into temptations considering of how diet takes up like 70% of the whole focus of loosing weight and even getting fit as Pyro said, and seeing how even cheating meals and (basically microaggressions and prejudices towards fit and bodybuilders) are giving insecure overweight people with goals to loosing weight (for years) like me becoming target of monetary exploits are so cynically demented, greedy and morally foul honestly, it should've been illegal for big businesses like planet fitness to exploits market unfairly while psychologically destroys many people's perceptions of reality
Planet Fitness: "We want to be wholesome and combat those that bully and judge" Also Planet Fitness: Judges those that they stereotype as bullies and judgmentals simply because of how they look and workout
They unironically do enforce the jeans rule: my dad once went to a Planet Fitness when he was out of gym shorts because they were being washed and had to use pants with a simple t-shirt, the alarm sounded just as he was finished getting checked in and ready to use the treadmill. That was the same day my dad canceled his membership and dusted off the old gym set he had in the garage. He was out of shorts: why ban him for being smart to use his pants man? :(
Pizza Monday would actually be genuinely beneficial if they allowed bodybuilders, but they don’t. They’re literally letting people get gains and then restricting them from turning them into muscle mass. Absolutely awful.
When I was studying abroad in the US, I had to find a gym and almost signed up for Planet Fitness. Dodged a bullet there. Went in without even noticing the Lunk Alarm and ridiculous rules.

I go to Planet Fitness myself, and I've genuinely had no bad experience (And I've gone to 3 different locations in my area). The staff has always been super chill and friendly, in fact at the location closest to home they know me as a regular so much they don't even make me check in or anything, they see me and say "Oh you're all good I gotchu" and I can get on with my workout. I've never once heard the "Lunk Alarm" go off when I've been there personally. At least from my experience, they just don't want people to be assholes because as a regular gym goer, it can be annoying when somebody just slams weights and yells loudly and acts like a dick.

For me personally it helps a lot to prevent a post-workout/post-swim headache or bloodsugar deficit/crash idk the medical term in English this ain't my first language
Alright guys so I actually work at planet fitness part time. Lemme tell you somethin, if the alarm goes off it’s because somebody behind the front desk hit a switch to turn it on. It is not noise activated. I also think that the stigma around pf is awful but at the one I work at we don’t do pizza we don’t kick people out for working out hard. I know some of them are pretty bad tho so yeah in all honesty go to a different gym. And definitely don’t get the black card if you do go to pf. It’s not worth it:)
Bad idea because some people do have to go slow. It pains me to say this but when you're obese, you have to pace yourself because you can RUIN your joints or tear a tendon if you don't. Everyone has their own battles, health-wise and mental-wise, and a lazy alarm is going to take the baseline for a healthy person and CRAM all the people who are likely doing their best for their condition through the same shaped peg, no matter what shape they're in.
I worked at a PF for a week. I missed a shift because I slept in. Boss had to come in and close the store for the night. Meh, so I got petty. I left a horrible review, stating how the building was hiding the actual filth they hid in that store. I had pictures as well. I take all my jobs seriously, so when I cleaned that building from 10PM until 7AM, I changed that mop, and water about 80 times. Bruh, don't go to these places. Place was ran by a father and son. They got fired, and other people took their place.
My brother does weight lifting during his off season, and goes to a planet fitness across the street from our neighbourhood as often as possible. He’s told me that that specific gym actually had to stop doing the pizza Mondays because of these controversies.
I seriously don't understand the stereotype of every stacked dude being a brainless asshole. Most big guys that I've known have been the epitome of gentle giants - super chill and really wholesome, especially when it comes to talking about their passion surrounding fitness and specialized diets.
I never knew that you could drop your weights on the ground without anything bad happening to you or the floor until someone who left Planet Fitness told me. Needless to say, I do more reps and scream after my 5lb bench press
As a previous planet fitness employee, ive got a few corrections. Pizza/bagel days dont happen anymore, the lunk alarm is activated by employees, and we mostly kicked people out for being ass holes more so than meat heads.
That pen part is a a joke part btw. Its not sound activated, an employee has a button at their desk that they can press at any time. The lunk alarm in general is used for show and a deterent.
As someone who is a member of Planet Fitness, it actually does a 50-50 between cardio and weight lifting. It has two floors. One for the cardio machinery, and the other is pure weight lifting. Most who come to it are pretty respectable and come in all shapes and sizes. People come in tank tops, big water jugs, etc. I don't think anyone has ever gotten kicked off for their behavior. No Pizza Monday or Bagel Day too. The fact other Planet Fitnesses do the opposite is kind of eye opening. Like ... damn.
Honestly I try to not make a lot of noise when I workout but when you’re a hardcore lifter it’s very difficult not to. At that point you just wanna lift the weight and get on with it.
I remember i was at a planet fitness a few months ago and i was bench pressing over 150 pounds, however i made the bar to heavy and my hands lost their grip and the bar almost fell on my neck, it was close to strangling me, i screamed for help, but while i was screaming, i set off the "Lunk Alarm" and some other people who were working out came over to help me, but when the employees came over to see what was going on they didn't even ask me if i was ok, they just told me i was making too much noise and that i had to leave. Now i just work out from home.
For those of you who feel discouraged to go to the gym by watching this video, Planet Fitness isn't as bad as Pyro and other RUclipsrs make it out to be. I've been going to the gym for 3 years now and Planet Fitness is genuinely a very good gym to start off at. Hell, I started off at Planet Fitness and I still go sometimes just to remind myself where I started. It is a very affordable and beneficial towards the gymgoers who attend. As for the Lunk Alarm, the pen video is a joke, the Lunk Alarm isn't set off by dropping weights or grunting, it is set off by a button at the front desk of the gym by a person (In the second Lunk Alarm video, there arent even any people other than the creators of the video in the gym). Most of the gyms don't even bother using it and see it rather as a novelty item. Gymgoers also very friendly and we all just want to watch each other grow, the most someone will do is go up to you to ask you if your using a weight or . We all started somewhere and even if it is Planet Fitness, it's a good start. So don't be discouraged, go out and improve yourself.
I've nearly dropped weights from laughing (I think I watched your Utopia vid during a lift, and I had to stop because I was giggling too much). I can't imagine a screeching alarm going off. Bloody hell...
I'm only like a min in and I had NO IDEA about this alarm thingy. The planet fitnesses near me (Canada) do actually have pizza days and such but there's no alarm. They also plastered "24/7" in their interior but they aren't 24/7 anymore. Also there's a "VIP lounge" that gives access to tanning beds for like an extra 30 CAD. But hey it's a "judgement free zone!"
The year is 2052. All RUclipsrs have died, save Pyrocynical and Moist Cr1tikal. Sunny pumps out videos on pay from both of them, and they battle for the right to make videos on his videos. This is the future we are heading towards
I used to live around Dayton, Ohio and there was literally one at every mall. They were always empty. The people I knew that had a membership went once or twice and couldn't get out of their contract.
Honestly, the quality of planet fitness is HIGHLY dependent on the staff. My local one is pretty good, they don't really give a shit so people don't get kicked out for dumbass stuff. But then you get the ones who kick you out for having a gallon water bottle or for using the 75 pound dumbells at any point

I love watching the videos of RUclipsrs watching the videos of a RUclipsr, which I watched before
so basically they created a "judgement free zone" by just shifting the judgement to different people
If planet fitness kept the pizza, got rid of the alarm, got some cheap barbells, steel plates and chalk they would dominate the powerlifting market
I want to see a real gym with a "lazy alarm" that goes off when people aren't pushing themselves hard enough
Terrible idea
What we need are gyms that play a giga ass alarm when someone is just sitting on the machine doing nothing, scrolling on their phone
Planet Fitness's whole buisiness is catering to people not serious about making progress who will likely go twice a month.
That thumbnail is just proof that Pyro tryna be penguinz0 so bad 😭
How is that being Penguinz0???
@@ghristophermyers666 the stretched screenshot thumbnail sells it
@@rubub8455 a lot of RUclipsrs do that though lmao
I’ve been wanting to watch the SunnyV video for this, but I waited cuz I knew pyro would watch it
Ladies and gentlemen and anyone in between, I present you, Pyros weekly SunnyV2 video
I havent ever seen the lunk alarm go off in my local pf
typical high effort pyro content W! Bravo Applause Pyro!!
Pyro make minimum effort content challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
My brother does weight lifting during his off season, and goes to a planet fitness across the street from our neighbourhood as often as possible. He’s told me that that specific gym actually had to stop doing the pizza Mondays because of these controversies.
Funnily enough I tried to join PF, but I angrily gave up because of how awful their website was set up.
0:20 the lunk alarm is controlled by the employees, it's not automated
I seriously don't understand the stereotype of every stacked dude being a brainless asshole. Most big guys that I've known have been the epitome of gentle giants - super chill and really wholesome, especially when it comes to talking about their passion surrounding fitness and specialized diets.
Even this dudes thumbnails are like penguinz0
I never knew that you could drop your weights on the ground without anything bad happening to you or the floor until someone who left Planet Fitness told me. Needless to say, I do more reps and scream after my 5lb bench press
I find it hilarious how a lunk alarm is more sensitive to a pen dropping than a normal human speaking.
The lunk alarm is set off by employees so it was probably just a fake vid
As a previous planet fitness employee, ive got a few corrections. Pizza/bagel days dont happen anymore, the lunk alarm is activated by employees, and we mostly kicked people out for being ass holes more so than meat heads.
That pen part is a a joke part btw. Its not sound activated, an employee has a button at their desk that they can press at any time.
The lunk alarm in general is used for show and a deterent.
If you check the map on their website, there's literally zero locations in Europe lmfao.
Like ... damn.
I go to planet fitness not because I want to, but because it's the only gym in my area.
i love pyros creative and original content, its so amazing and thought provoking i love it!!!
cant wait for the next sunny reaction video!!!
Paywalls over moderators doing their jobs is bad.

Shoutout to pyrocynical’s 24 fps camera recoding software
Sunny carrying the commentary channels
Fun fact, the lunk alarm is 100% manual. The staff do it, it’s not automatic.
All depends on the planet you are at. 🤷♂️
Sunny V and pyrocynical. Name a more iconic duo.
I can only imagine pyro being like a Deer in the gym. Walks in sheepishly and gets easily startled by the grunting of men and clanking of weights.
I once had the lunk alarm sounded on me because I was grunting after getting trapped after a failed bench rep
Watching Sunnyv2? Cringe
Watching pyro watch Sunnyv2 with pseudophilosophy? Yes sir
Oh pyro how did you know I love consooming more sunny v2 content
Pyro is easily the most original youtuber
After I watched sunnys video by myself I thought Pyro will make a video for sure, and yet here it is
Pyro: "Why do people call me a Moist Critical clone?"
Pyro: *reacts to sunnyv2 and does commentary on miniscule internet drama*
That alarm is literally just controlled by someone pressing a button. Literally no special pressure or sound detection 🤣🤣🤣
Just cause you’re fat doesn’t mean you need to roast gyms pyro
Can't believed that pyro is still not subscribed to sunnyv2
This is some original new information 😃
I'm only like a min in and I had NO IDEA about this alarm thingy. The planet fitnesses near me (Canada) do actually have pizza days and such but there's no alarm. They also plastered "24/7" in their interior but they aren't 24/7 anymore. Also there's a "VIP lounge" that gives access to tanning beds for like an extra 30 CAD. But hey it's a "judgement free zone!"
Pyro trying not to react to sunny for the billionth time challenge (impossible):
Pyro watching SunnyV2 to feed his family
Pyro is still out here trying to make some easy stacks by stealing every SunnyV2 video with the most basic commentary I've ever heard.
"Planet Fitness' color scheme is so bad!"
Well, I guess my avatar can go screw itself, then. Ain't nothing wrong with purple and gold!
Planet Wario Fitness
What I wanna know Is how the hell is pyro so educated when it comes to achieving weightloss?
watch his first facecam video and then this one, that's how
@@atlasrules87 was he really obese or something
@@SOoshi_art nah, he was slightly more rounded was all, but he did lose weight very gradually.
@@CrazyBarks props to the cringe furry commentator then
Now i can watch the same video twice
The year is 2052. All RUclipsrs have died, save Pyrocynical and Moist Cr1tikal. Sunny pumps out videos on pay from both of them, and they battle for the right to make videos on his videos. This is the future we are heading towards
They have an alarm for dropping weights?
Here we just have employees that do their job
Original reaction content we’re having today aren’t we
I used to live around Dayton, Ohio and there was literally one at every mall.
