HIGHLY recommend Streets of Rage 4 to anyone who's just now hearing about it or is curious. It'll challenge you more than a lot of current games, but it's legitimately fun. Definitely a worthy 4th installment of the Streets of Rage series.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Its SOOOO fun. Altho the first unlockable charather is a bit OP if you ask me, or i am just really good at playing him. But the dash is nuts.
My dad has been obsessed with this franchise for a few years now, beat-em-ups are one genre he can still hang in, and this game is probably his game of the decade if I had to reckon. It’s so good. This OST too is gonna last us as long as necessary, just like Streets of Rage 2’s.
If you look at it from that perspective, it's a 2-CD soundtrack. There's a way to toggle the music to the old Streets of Rage 2 music in the game as well.

It sounds like he just discovered it since he realized it was a remix of Go Straight. And if he’s listened to Go Straight enough times, chances are he already had a rhythm off the bat. Also there are certain cues in music that let the members know if they are going to be playing loudly or softly. Streets of Rages soundtrack is inspired by jazz and house/edm music. Jazz being improvisational and really relying on these cues for band unison, and Edm/House being rhythmic in nature(great for drummers to just do their thing). So basically it’s the same way you know when the song is slowly ramping up in a certain part of a techno/dubstep song that means the beat is about to drop, only we are obviously simpletons and musicians are way more refined in picking up those details mid song

I will say that if you go in expecting Streets of Rage as it used to be, you might be disappoointed, but it is a great game.
