I have been using those white plastic lids on my canning jars for a few years now and absolutely love them. Not only do I like the "white" in my pantry, but it is really nice not having to deal with the 2 part lids.
Also, if you want a cleaner look between the 2 boards, what we have done in the past is use white caulk and put a thin line down between boards, then paint....it will look like one piece then :-)

Looks great!! I always wondered why you didn't install the tape light behind the lip of the cabinet so you didn't see the strip? The light would disperse evenly, you wouldn't get the "dot" effect, and it would hide the mechanics. Just a thought! Love your organization and cleaning inspiration!
Put a third board on the shelf then you can see the labels on the jars in the back.

TFS. Im possibly older than your mum and I still learn from you. I am a nurse and I have also resorted to cleaning homes for a living when a season required that of me. I would love to see you do a video that demonstrates that process ( in your own home for privacy reasons of course). It would help a lot. Thank you for considering my request.
I wanted to just add that flours of any kind, wheat berries ( to grind my own flour) and nuts last much much longer in the freezer. I keep a small chest freezer for nuts, wheat berries and flours in my garage. I also use the food saver to keep things vacuum sealed. Check out if you like Real Simple how to store these items for much much longer and therefore okay to buy in bulk. Just thought Id share that.
You can add a few rubberband and weave in a extra one as a loop to the end of your broom stick to hang it. ( fyi) In case that helps.

I love the lights in the pantry, just enough to see at night! I also use jars for dry goods and love how easy it is to keep track and quickly inventory these items. Looking forward to part 2.
Are the lights under the microwave effected by boiling water or splashing from the stove at all? We are looking at putting this kind of lighting under our cabinets but worry about them getting wrecked by steam, etc.
They never have for me!

I like the lights in the pantry and under the cupboards. I had a square light above my sink and it quit working. Can't find bulbs to fit it so the light strips might just be the thing.

also, curious as to where you purchased the white plastic bins with the handles. The ones you have in the cube storage. I want to purchase one of those cube storage shelves but want plastic, not cloth bins as they will have a bit of weight to them (pantry storage as well)
