I love the way you did sweetheart nobody perfect and nobody comes in flower industry and just know it all each person climb the leather to get where thy are critics is good you learn from them but some critics is just looking for attention so well done babes 👌
Hydrangea are easy to work with and are hardy ! They dry looking almost exactly like they do alive, if they are white the leaves will turn off white but are beautiful ! I live in northern Minnesota and you can get them free, everyone has them in their yard !
this are natural flowers, how many days before the events should i buy them? and how many days before the event should i make them not to look like died at the event??
If the flowers are fresh, you can get them 3-5 days before the event. Our flowers are very fresh and direct from the source. You can visit us at bloominous.com
Do you have any tips on using hydrangeas and making them last for my wedding. I know hydrangeas can be very sensitive, and we will be doing the flowers the day before and placing them at the venue the night before the wedding.
Can you make this centerpieces a night before if you're having an evening wedding the following day? Will the water in the foam be enough to keep them hydrated?
+Jeanna Francis We recommend you receive all the flowers 2 days before your wedding. Saturday wedding, Thursday delivery. This way you have Thursday night to put the pieces together. They will last until Monday or Tuesday of the following week, but look its best on Saturday on this schedule.
+Jorene Ayuyu This piece sits about 24 inches high. Yes, you can buy the floral dishes from us, but we will include it for free in the arrangement, so unless you need more, you should be covered. Everything we do comes in a kit: Vases, flowers, materials, and instructions. Please contact us at designers@bloominous.com so we can help you with your event.
Julia Lopez Depending on how many you order, these can be under $100 a piece! We would ship it out to you overnight with all the flowers and hard goods. Super easy!
The foam dries out if not watered. So the Hydrangeas will become Dry flowers in time otherwise. I do know they can be dry flowers to keep too but would need to be sprayed with hair spray to hold them, but not heavily. The decorating was lovely and enjoyed it, but flowers just do not always last forever, of course, but know Hydrangeas can live awhile, not sure of the rest, but they will and can dry if they do not have the moisture.
I wish I had seen this video before ordering flowers for the altar pieces I am doing. Lovely work and you just saved me a ton of money on oasis spheres. :)
+Renee Miller Thanks Renee! Let us know if we can be of any more help on future projects and you can subscribe to our blog as well. We have tips and tricks up there too.
Natasha Darden For this type of tall hydrangea centerpiece, you really just need a tall Pilsner Vase (they come in various heights) and some sort of plastic liner that goes on top of the Pilsner Vase. You can even fill up the Pilsner Vase with water and have LED lights in there (very popular these days) and have the Hydrangea piece on top!
She may not like being recorded or even publicly instructing but at least she made an effort to do a video, if not a public one. Good on her for sharing what she did. I'd be nervous as heck too! I honestly didn't think she sounded nervous tho 💜.
Girls I recommend a website www.ebloomsdirect.com Here I bought all kinds of fresh-cut flowers and also preserved flowers for all your DIY projects and also DIY wedding centerpieces. They have free shipping in all the store for the USA. Remember, Inexpensive doesn't mean Cheap! You' can get beautiful centerpieces (box include 5 centerpieces) by $129.00, It wants to sayvthst each centerpiece costs $25.80 it's really
+Lauren Gull Hi Lauren - We used a tall candle vase and a floral dish to hold the foam. You can find candle vases at Pottery Barn. If you need floral dishes, let us know.
I did a centerpiece with hydrangeas. Unfortunately I didn't see this video before hand... I did 2 things you recommended we do not do. One was pressing the foam block in water and the other was removing and reinserting the hydrangea to my liking on the block. They were wilted over night, do you think if I used your tips they will not wilt over night or do you think they should be done the morning of the event?
+Desiree Loayza Hi Desiree. Yes, that would have fixed the problem. The problem with pressing the foam block in, is that water doesn't get absorbed efficiently, or in other words, not enough water to go around for all the flowers. The second problem is more serious. By reinserting the hydrangeas into an existing hole, it was likely the bottom of the stem was not fully against the foam, and therefore could not drink water. I'm glad these tips helped you out! We at bloominous.com try to make it easy for everyone to DIY, so your comments are greatly appreciated!!
+Desiree Loayza When working with hydrangeas, wrap the foam in green coated chicken wire for added security of the hydrangea stems-especially if you want a larger diameter arrangement (about 14" to 16" diameter when complete). To prevent wilting of the hydrangeas, smash the tip of stem with a mallet and then soak them in a large plastic tub of cold water and about a cup of Florlite QuikDip for about 15 minutes. Try to keep the entire hydrangea submerged. Once done transfer it to another bucket of water with floral food and then give it a fresh cut once ready to place it in foam. This will allow the hydrangea to take up ALLOT of water and be hydrated and perked when ready to be arranged. Try to do your arrangements the day before the event. If you need to do it two days before, make sure you keep water in the vessel so the foam can stay wet and the flowers can keep drinking. Hydrangeas love ALLOT of water. Hope that helps.
+Natalie Reyes- Hi Natalie, I dont have a video but yes, the idea is to submerge the whole hydrangea into the solution that I mentioned in my previous post. I do this ALL the time when working with hydrangeas (specifically if they will be used in foam as opposed to a vase full of water). I have this black plastic tub (23"L x 13"D x 14"H) that I purchased from Ikea years ago. It was once used for storage but now its used for submerging the hydrangeas. I put that bad boy into the bathtub a fill it with water about 3/4 of the way then pour in about a cup of the QuikDip. I mix it with my kitchen spoon or spatula. Then I take a sandwich plastic bag and insert the stem of the hydrangea, and on the floor of my bathroom, I smash the tip of the stem with my mallet (the sandwich bag keeps the bathroom floor clean). Then I remove the plastic bagc and plunge the hydrangea into the tub of solution and move on to the next flower and so forth until there is no more room in the black container. I then go with my hand and submerge them again and again (just keep pushing them down). When Im done submerging them (after about 15 minutes), I transfer them into a bucket of water that has flower food in it and let them sit until Im ready to make my arrangements. This method also works for orchids. :-)
Can you do a video with hydrangeas on a candlestick holder and a floral arrangements on top of a backdrop. It's so pretty and all the party planners are making them.😞
First you fill a bucket with cold water, cut the stem, dip it in water with flower preservative, then pull out the stem dip it well in the spice alum, then put into your arrangement. The alum will help them hold up for a very long time and spraying the hydrangea with something like crowning glory makes them last even longer!!!
+Ariel Keaton Hi Ariel. You can by the clear bowl at any hobby shop. Or you can email us at support@bloominous.com and we can help you with your vase and arrangement.
Beautiful center piece, thank you so much for share your talent. I wonder how many day in advance of a wedding can I make this center piece. I am planning to make the arrangements two day before of my daughter wedding . Do you think the flowers will be beautiful, still on the day of the wedding?
It's fun to see how flower decorators from other countries make decorations. I've never seen the tape method of holding the oasis in place in the bowl. we do something completely different in denmark. watch my video on sjovmedblomster to see how de fasten the foame
My cousin did something similar for her wedding but the vase that was used to hold the centerpiece was filled up with water and had fairy lights inside.
+kar de Hi! In the video, we had 6 hydrangeas and some accent flowers. The flowers alone would cost $55 (Free Shipping if you're buying 10x). With the vases, it would be $75 each.
+Ashley Nguyen Hi Ashely. We get it from our supplies in the US. They are trucked in to Los Angeles, and then we ship it to our customers for their wedding.

I , too, had an experience that hydrangeas could not be used in this type of oasis. Hydrangeas wilt very quickly
son hermosos cada uno de los arreglos.
That was very easy to understand! Thank you for your tutorials.

Can you make this centerpieces a night before if you're having an evening wedding the following day? Will the water in the foam be enough to keep them hydrated?
How long does the floral foam take to dry up?
How far in advance can you make this?
Thank you so much. This was very informative and just what I was looking for.

How many days in advance can I place my flowers in the floral foam before my event?
2 days before your event. But you'll need to water and soak the foam periodically.
how long do these centerpieces last? how far in advance would they have to arrive/be made?

How long do u keep oasis in water
do you use a floral preservative in the water or anything to keep them looking good?
We do use flower food in the water. We include flower food in all of our floral kits.
I grow hydrangeas & I have never seen such long stems on the bushes as you have there.
Are those flowers real
I would like to find out what size (height) are the vases & how wide. Also, if I am able to purchase the floral dishes through you? Thanks

+Bloominous DIY Designs How many hrdrangeas did you use on average for one ceneterpiece?
+Anh Tran Hi Anh. We used 12 hydrangeas. It also works with 6 hydrangeas but more roses and other flowers.
The foam dries out if not watered. So the Hydrangeas will become Dry flowers in time otherwise. I do know they can be dry flowers to keep too but would need to be sprayed with hair spray to hold them, but not heavily.

Why would you spray with hair spray? Of course these will be expected to die within 3-7 days depending on how you care for it after the design work.
what type of vase did you use for this arrangement.?
You need a tall Pilsner Vase. See bloominous.com

What is the song playing in the background and who is the artist?
this music should go into the bin,so annoying..
Just letting y’all know, hydrangeas wilt quickly in floral foam, I would get some water pick tubes just to play it safe
Nope, they don't if you prep them properly... but definitely hire a professional so that you prevent this from being an issue.
