- One of my favorites! I dream of living in Santa Fe and wearing a long flowing dress to match my (hopefully) long flowing hair. Oppenheimer, who???

Thanks for being here!
Unfortunately Taos, my hometown, is becoming overpopulated with tourists, and the housing market is becoming more and more expensive and catered towards the rich. Kind of like what’s happening in Hawaii. It’s really unfortunate because the residents who actually live here are struggling.
Same thing in Las Vegas. Refugees from California & rich Texans buying up everything, property prices now out of reach for people that grew up here. And yeah streets clogged with tourists.
I live in NM and it is still is so pretty to me
It's such a stunning state. I never get sick of coming to NM
Cute video. My wife and I from Oregon are planning to do almost the exact same trip this coming week.
We plan on flying to Phoenix and then driving to New Mexico to do some exploring.
ugh im so glad you enjoyed the lovely land I get to call home. Adore New Mexico
New Mexico is so beautiful!! Now I really want to visit, Santa Fe just looks like the most vibrant, yet most chill town.
Santa Fe just warms your heart in a way not a lot of cities can
@@AnaWallaceJohnsondang taos is where my local shops are at
Santa Fe is great if you're rich and can afford to live near all the charming touristy spots, otherwise you'll be relegated to a wasteland of stripmalls, parking lots, homeless crackheads and general nothingness.
I’ve been loving the travel vlogs! Your sense of humor really stands out on your editing, i love it!
White sands seems really beautiful, thank you for sharing this lovely views and places 😊
Thank you so, so much! I think editing is the best way to get personality in videos, so I really appreciate it.
Underrated...I mean Taos and Santa Fe have been on the artsy touristy circuit for decades.
Northern NM is especially beautiful. It's one of only two majority minority states and it has a dry sunny climate that most people love. It has a unique history compared to many states.
There's also a lot of poverty and social dysfunction.
NM is usually the top "parasite" state in the country, gets about $2 in federal funds for every $1 it sends out. Federal government keeps it afloat with science labs and military bases. Feds and tourism make it viable.
Gorgeous! So not helping to dampen my secret desire to run away to New Mexico.
It's time to make the mad dash!
I am happy that you enjoyed our town.
I'm glad to know you thoroughly enjoyed your trip to New Mexico Ana. One of my mum's favourite places too after she went to the states on visitor's program in the early 2000s! There is a warmth in NM connected to the indigenous communities there that is priceless, and hard to be found. ❤🎉
I absolutely agree!! Such a deep connection with the land and the people are as warm as ever. So happy your mom got to explore it and, furthermore, loved it!
How do you even measure something that vague? They want your commerce.
Going to a 3 day festival in New Mexico in May 2024. Pretty excited to road trip around New Mexico. Thank you for sharing your travels 🧳🥾
oh hell yeah! so happy this helped! NM is amazing!!
Cute video. My wife and I from Oregon are planning on doing almost the exact same trip this coming week. We plan on flying to Phoenix and then driving to New Mexico to explore.
I really truly enjoyed this road trip playlist Ana. It got me excited to finally plan the American road trip me and my partner have been talking about. I’m hurt about one thing though - you didn’t show us your thrift store hauls. ;(
Please do more of these!!!! W thrift/book hauls included mayhaps?
Ps it dawned on me that you’re my favourite youtuber now which I’m slightly concerned about bc I’m zooming through your videos too quickly and soon I’ll just have to turn alerts on and wait. 🫶🏼
¡Qué Viva Nuevo México! ⚔️🇪🇸🇺🇸🇲🇽⚔️
I live outside of Albuquerque and I hate myself for moving here. My dad was born and raised her in 1936 and he hated it too and couldn’t wait to leave. The state motto is “The Land of Enchantment” but everyone calls it “The Land of Entrapment” and that is no lie.
New Mexico, Utah and Oklahoma are underrated
I agree! Been to all 3! I have a video on Utah, too :))
@@AnaWallaceJohnson Arizona is good also not really underrated
@@AnaWallaceJohnson You should do Grand Canyon next
@@AnaWallaceJohnson And also try Carlsbad Caverns which is in Eastern New Mexico and West Texas
Nevada is the most underrated
Always a joy to watch
Thank you for the concern! The basement apt made it out okay this time!
I’m so happy you love Santa Fe. I lived there for 13 years and even though I’m still close, I miss it. 😂
I dream of retiring there. Start pottery and have a small shop. It's so perfect!
NM is beautiful because the population density is low. Fewer people in the entire state than in most urban cities. Limited resources, like water, are harsh realities that cannot be ignored.
New Mexico sure looks fantastic.
I'm ready to go back!
@@AnaWallaceJohnson I want to visit it.
Amazing episode! Thanks for sharing 😎
Thank you! :))))
White sands might be the most beautiful missile range in America.
NM is basically hot and dry like AZ, but it's mostly at a greater altitude, especially in the northern part of the state, which makes it generally like 20⁰F cooler.
So when NM is at a pretty tough 95, AZ is at an intolerable, potentially deadly, 115.
You can escape the cold by going to the Carolinas, Florida, Texas, most of the South, including Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc.
But all those places are assaultively HUMID, and not only does that make the heat intolerable, but it tends to bring lots and lots of mosquitoes and other insects.
They exist in NM, but at such a lower density you can be in many places and never see a mosquito.
And it's so dry you can cool your house with a swamp cooler, which is just a giant humidifier that's costs a tenth of a real ac unit to run, and you can keep your doors and windows open.
Texas is too hot and too humid. Arizona is just too extremely hot. Colorado is nice but it gets much colder there, and there's a lot of people, Utah is nice but the whole Mormon thing is hard to live with.
All these places are more popular, so there are things of people. The roads are crowded, restaurants are jammed, hiking trails are unmanageable where they exist.
NM is slow, and empty. Except during real rush hour, there's no traffic. You can drive around Albuquerque like it's a suburb, compared to Tucson or Austin or Denver, there's nobody here.
ABQ is the only city in America with an actual ski area.
I've been here 30 years and I think of moving, but every other place is either unacceptably hot, horribly humid, or depressingly cold and cloudy.
There literally no place to go, except maybe San Diego, but the cost of living there is way out of my range.
The mustangs!!!!
So stunning!
I hope you are safe! Great video as always
We are safe, thank you so much!!
i might move here from CO in February
It’s gonna be amazing!
We are going to Santa Fe for Christmas! Where did you see the horses?
Santa Fe 505 here baby 😁😁😁
I hate NM but love North Carolina. My son loves NM and hates North Carolina. We both love Colorado.
haha! colorado is a very fair compromise--I have a video on there, too!
another beautiful vlog ! The horses..omg so sweeeet !
They're the cutest animals ever! I love horses so much
Come on down to Albuquerque, where i was born and raised and have a great look at what a failed city government can do to a city. I dint even recognize my hometown compared to 15years ago. The homeless have completely taken over the entire city. The police have been driven out of to other departments where the city actually supports them and no one seems to care. We just keep on doing the exact same things and following the exact same policies that have got us here. Nee Mexico has some amazing places of beauty. But we also top all of the bad lists and are at the very bottom of all the good lists. It really bothers me when videos like this show cities like Santa fe downtown, without showing any of what its like for any of the people actually living here.
That horse wanted to jump in the Hyundai and come back to NY with you! The Sand dunes are super cool.
I was ready to take the horse!
My birth state!! ❤
omg, stunning state!
Also collected works is my favorite book store in the world
it's so good!! I could find a little chair and sleep there all day, honestly
White Sands National Park looks lovely
its so small, but perfect for unbelievable views!
facts 💯
Wait a minute those were wild horses who just wandered into town?! 😯😸 Did you get anywhere near Lincoln County, home of Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett and company?
YEah! That area has lots of wild horses! We were kind of close to that area, but we didn't end up stopping
Oooooooooh you’ve made me want to go to New Mexicoooooooh. Endlessly giving, like your videos. That 🐴 🤎
LOVE YA! Truly New Mexico is one of the best states eva
GREAT WHITE SAND CARTWHEELS U GUYS
CARTWHEELIN!!!
Oleg ……Bushcraft , who knew !
Oleg should make a bushcraft channel
Cartwheels on Crocs, you gotta give it to Oleg
He is king of the crocs!
You made a cute travel video, however. Toas and Santa Fe or both 'cities different' mainly because of their deep and ancient history. You didn't mention it .
Horses were brought by the Spanish. Mustangs got loose quite awhile ago. Please try to explain, thank you.

How radioactive is New Mexico?
VERY from all the old uranium mines and they just dumped the sand wherever lol
ana i think you won the sand dune cartwheel contest x
I think so too! Sandwheel supreme!
Those sand dunes 🤌🏼 and that cartwheel butt toot 🥵 girl you are ✨giving✨
booty tootie cartwheel queen!
⛺️🚙🏜 thanks for the Video
Thank you for being here!
Yea? Underrated? Come live in Albuquerque for 40+ years and you may not feel the same about your opinion. Like bugs bunny says "its a nice place to visit but i wouldnt want to LIVE here" I should have listened to bugs and stayed my ass in texas instead of coming home for college..
New Mexico needs to be nerfed, it's the most op state in the union. Disproportionately influence for it's tiny population and GDP.
Texas vibes
I love me some Texas!
Pretty lady 👈🏾
6:35-6:38 “we need to cook”
lmaooooo goated
Stooooooop don't tell them.
Cheapest unleaded gas where you were in New Mexico is cheaper than the cheapest gas I've seen in metro-Atlanta.
And this was last year, so I can't even imagine what it is now
It’s at like 3.60 now lol
Are these things truly what you want from your time on this earth? No agent? No residuals?
Where are we likely to see wild horses we can pet like that??!!?
I saw these slightly outside of Alamogordo. I definitely don't suggest going up to too many. I waited for them to get acclimated to another group of people who went up before me haha. Horses can be pretty temperamental!
u need a show STAT
omg, dream job tbh. Manifesting rn
Under-rated? Did you grow up on the Moon?
yeah!
Shhhh! We like it underrated. Come to New Mexico, enjoy the scenery, green Chile cheese burgers, and awesome people, then go home. We like it under populated, poor and dangerous. Please come back and visit when you can. Love ya
It's a money pit
