Old timer...but still first six months of this year was swapping between bucket n breaker on 22m long reach no quick hitch on a barge , working underwater, luckily been on that machine ages and the pins had been kept greased lunch n finish time
Tough one , but true to what the job can be at times . Well done . Ps someone mentioned dab in a machine , going north to Glasgow in the car can be more miss than hit . Cant always get Popmaster 🤦 also when the van didnt start , get a Topdon J2000 jumpstart they are great and often are on offer under 60 quid . I have one in both cars just in case . Check out Baxenden boys they have them too
Its a hard Job in winter !!!!!!- That Cold takes some fighting- think i'd be having a Genny powered portable fan heater in the cab of the machine your working on - then your brain can think better when at a civilised temp and you don't feel demoralised if warm
Blimey Ali things started off really well . Then went down hill fast .with extra jobs to do . Then the heating on two excavators playing up . Then to top it off the coolant leak when you was no where near that area .😯😯
It was a challenge to say the least and the first 140 I realise now I must be insane because the definition of insanity is doing something multiple times and expecting a different outcome! Cut to me taking heater hoses off blowing the matrix out re fitting them and restarting the machine 🤦♂️😂
There might be a Resistor in the Heater Box to control the heat output - The Resistors fck up - this is on older plant - so dont know if still the same tech
Unfortunately not on these machines coolant is constantly circulating the neater matrix and it’s the air flow through the matrix that determines the temperature of the cab so no coolant flow or little coolant flow means no heating
These machines have done nearly 9k hours and the one from last week with the rotten plugs had been pressure washed with all plates removed then stored on a shed for a number of months during the winter so it sat damp but I think on the whole they’re pretty good easy sorted with a diagram and an understanding of what’s going on 👍
hi ali can you answer me a question please with the dash 7 they are sold with dab radio like my 55r but it does not pick up a single dab station the dealer told me it needs a dab ariel do you fit different ariels or do they come already fitted great vid by the way
Ohh the -7 machines I’ve seen on PDI have the radios already installed with DAB working I’ll check the DX63 that I’m on with and see if there’s and settings to change I know the larger machines 14t and above you need to enable it through the service menus
@@alisdiggerdiary cheers it the doosan radio that comes with the machine works fine on fm ect and has dab wrote on front of radio but just cant find any stations so im at a loss
Great video, i rate it as a good one, yes annoying for you as you do a lot in the day but at the same time you don't do much( fixing wise) The heating issue, are the engines maybe taking longer to heat up because its cold and they are over cooled to cope with hot weather, you could try blanking off 1/4 of the cooling rad to see if it heart up quicker? And its good to see even you get the odd village bike machine that's had every tom, dick and harry, try there hand at being a plant mechanic and failed, then you've got to sort it out right.
I tried on the first 140 clamping the top radiator hose so only half the cool and was able to circulate if that makes sense and it didn’t change anything also the engine in these are the same engine (different ECU map) to a 25t machine so it doesn’t get much engine load when stalling the pumps out the owner of the second machine is sorting the rad leak and going to throw a thermostat in it I’ll find out if that improves anything 🤞
Your videos are great as they are. Don't go all spit and polish on them. An honest view of your day makes for great viewing.
Bloody hell a hour long special. Cheers Ali.
Ali keep using the iPhone we don't need you to spend valuable time transferring clips from one device to another we just enjoy the content you produce
Cracking video mate, and we all have days like that, that's just the plant game for you.

Maybe you could have a Log Burner in the back of the van and use all the wooden crates for fuel - bit Hilly Billy but keep yur hands Toasty !!😆🤣
@@AlexLindley-u5f now there’s an idea he’ll id have no reason to go home 😂
Can just see the merc wandering up a forestry roan belching steam like an old train. 😂
Excellent video, we all have days like yours, mine usually last all week
Interesting to see the heating issues, Ive issues on a dash 5
Your Videos Are Sound As They Are Chap ... Ego and BS free No Stupid music ..... You Nailed It with Quality and Simplicity ... Nice One...
peace
Understand your position I thank you for what you do and show as is.
Extremely surprised you have not got a electronic battery tester on the van Ali
Love how he started the pick up at the same time you tired the excavator 😂
Bloody timed it perfect didn’t he 😂
Classic thermostat failure Ali.. flow drops to cab heater . See it loads on sideloaders due to the length of the heater hoses up the machine and back
Haha old school bucket change I remember we had no q hitch in years gone by ,yes I'm older generation 😂 youngsters today know nowt 😂
Oh yo have a cab Nick in the day nevermind a heater. How often have you heard that from us old boys 😂😂😂
A lot 😂😂😂

Thanks great update ali
A Trickle charger over night or whilst not in use in winter makes a world of difference.

👍
Do any of the bigger services 2000/4000hr require engine valve adjustment checks on the Doosan/ Develon machines?
Think some have hydraulic lifters now ?
Could be the return from the heater matrix not allowing flow
Had the pipe off and I got a soaking 🥳😂
Had a cat 312 with similar issues it was thermostat , had about 8000hrs
Cheers Ken I hope I’m on the right track
@@alisdiggerdiary worth trying a thermostat really for the cost like

hey I really enjoy your videos🙌, how is the quality of the doosan? the wiring doesn't seem so good
