One of the greatest retrospectives ever made about one of the greatest movies ever made. I love all the phantasms I've seen them all countless times and plan on watching them countless more times before the tall man comes for me.
I'm only a few yes younger than Michael and seen this when it first came out in 79. Loved horror flix since I was 6 or 7 yrs old, so seeing this was THE ultimate in horror movies atcthe time, for me. I was able to see myself as Michael and the emotions were real. I've always had very vivid and wild dreams, so with there being this sense of what was real and what was a dream, that hit me hard. I hadn't seen this until now and it's made my day! Thank you for finding and sharing with us fans.
You can tell a true “phan” was interviewing Coscarelli. When he’s talking about a specific alternate ending, you hear a voice ask “you didn’t shoot that?” to make sure there’s no lost footage somewhere. Well done! 👍
Absolutely love these movies....1 & 2 are my favorite..3 is pretty good....4 & 5 were ok....2 is arguably my fav...and I would love to meet the cast, especially Reggie...would love to smoke a joint with him, jam and hear some cool stories...and RIP to the late, great Angus Scrimm.
Love Phantasm and its sequels. Great characters, awesome effects, fantastic music, cool cars and a world of never ending mysteries. Is this documentary on DVD, if not it should be.
iv been looking for this damn documentary for the better part of the past 7 years. I cant believe its right on YT. thank you. seriously, try finding this damn thing anywhere else
hi, i haven't watched this, i'm sorry, i came here bcs you uploaded pete's meteor the very day i was looking crazily for it (precisely bcs of alfred molina!). i couldn't find it anywhere and i couldn't believe i found it the same day you posted it. thank you so so much!!!!
Unfortunately with Angus Scrimm death, I think it was considered official ended. I would love to see a TV series. There's alot of directions that it can go. I'd be Interested to see who would play these characters if a TV series was ever produced.
Great muscle car and second amendment gun action. Especially when Jody says you don't aim a gun at a man unless you intend to shoot him. The 70's rocked!
The chainsaw fight has to be a homage to motel hell or TCM. Maybe both but theres a chainsaw fight at the end of motel hell where 1 guy pulls out a chainsaw and then the other guy pulls out an even longer chainsaw 😂
Bill Thornbury was still sexy as he|| in this documentary; those eyes, wowsa. He was a knockout as Jodie, in that 70s way. I wish they included more of his and Reggie's music. I really disliked Phantasm 2 because he wasn't in it and I hated the substitute for Mike's character. (Ironically, when I first saw Phantasm, I couldn't stand Baldwin, lol, but now I won't even watch 2 due to the lack of him and Bill.) As for Reggie--he never changes! :D
I think Kathy looks better in this documentary than she did in the movie--maybe just cuz of the 70s look she had back then which I'm not a fan of (although I lived it!) And Angus is a real charmer for sure, I agree w/ you!

40:51 I died laughing! That face he holds till the end is pure meme bait.
Sweet! Definitely a cult series.

32:03 woulda been a very cool touch 4 the movie.
Angus seemed like he was such a charming, funny, classy male and Kathy is still beautiful even though she must be in her 60's
