As many people have said, Dooo does NOT have perfect pitch. He has said before that he has relative pitch. It is my understanding that people are born with perfect pitch, but if you have relative pitch, you can improve on it to the point that it is at the same level as perfect pitch. Dooo's extensive musical background including 14+ years of playing guitar and his familiarity with music theory has allowed his relative pitch to improve to the point that he is commonly mistaken to have perfect pitch.

Just a note about perfect pitch, you aren't born with it per se, so it's not like a genetic thing or a more sensitive ear or something like that, but it is teachable only to kids under about 4 years old, because it is based on connecting a tone to a subconscious memory so that you can access it anytime. Someone who has a perfect pitch has to learn relative pitch as well, so as to be able to distinguish distance between frequencies.
The only major difference between a person with perfect pitch and another with relative pitch is that the relative pitch person needs to play a note on an instrument to position himself sonically, while the perfect pitch person has that note already ingrained, so he is his own reference instrument. Other than that, not much difference. Also, perfect pitch becomes less "perfect" as you age, the notes you remember become flatter. Interesting phenomenon.
@@georgios9697 Another thing i've heard, my aunt has perfect pitch, and she has the problem where however she hears a song the first time she hears it, she will play it that way, even if there is a fault, she will play that fault as if it was a note in the song
@@georgios9697 as always... as talented as someone might be, it doesn't help if you don't learn the theory and train 5+ hours per day to get good at what you do.
one thing that i heard is that perfect pitch is actually not something that you get born with or you just discover that you have it. it is something that you learn as baby and young child while you learn your first language. that is why there are so many talents in asia countries whith their "you will be this when you are an adult" mentality that train their children from birth on in music. on requirement that has always be met is that you get only to hear perfect notes. no instrument or singing that you hear can be out of pitch or the child will get a faulty perfect pitch that is useless.
many talents like perfect pitch or some kind of perfect memory talent is often gained by the way the parents influenced and teached their baby in the early years. even things like being a "genius" is just learning something from a really young age on. most olympian athlets start with 3 or 4 in their sport, most famouse instrument players start at the same age and many "genius" scientists have started with math and learning how things work with around that time too.
in a sense saying "you are so talented" or "you are such a genius" is disregarding the effort of learning it since childhood for over a hour per day for years.
everyone can be a super talented person when he does one thing that he likes for over a decade and over 2 hours a day, each day. and how good you are after the decade is dependend on if you learned the right theory and techniques or if you got stuck on bad habbits because nobody told you what you do wrong for way too long.

King Gizzard is a dope band, they're from Australia, have two drummers, and play a microtonal style of music. Also their albums are all over the place genre wise. Deffs worth checking out.

If you look at the dual guitar, there's a seam in the middle where the two guitars join. I don't know for sure, but you can probably take it apart at the seam and store it as two guitars.

Yes, The Dooo has said he has relative pitch while I believe Marcus Veltri said he has perfect pitch.
I believe MV has said on a few occasions that he has relative pitch, but because people confuse it with perfect pitch he just rolls with it.

He's stated in the past that he has very good relative pitch because of all the time he has put into music, but not perfect pitch. The video you're talking about has perfect in quotes because it's not really perfect pitch.

He does have relative pitch but he also knows music theory very well so he can play by ear really fast. Marcus Veltri on the other hand does have perfect pitch

Yngwie started in Steeler and Alkatrazz, but shortly after that he went solo. He has done a guitar thing with Vai, Satrianni, Bettencourt and others, but he's a solo musician for the most part. he has like 20 or so studio albums. This is just the basic info. I don't want to type out too much LOL

I have perfect "pitch" but i dont as you do "hear" tones i see them as a "picture" in my head and i see if something is not right in the picture... its not as much my ears as its the "picture" in my brain... its just a sense some people have and its hard to explain...
Like is it blue or yellow? thats an ez Q for you when i learned to name notes i se them as ez as you se colours even if i hear 300 at the same time i still see the "bad pixels" in the picture i can hear a sympnyorchestra play and tell you wich musicians are off key...

He said in a q and a video way back that he has relative pitch. But also in some videos back he made a video called Flexing my perfect pitch, but I think it was just a joke.

Yngwie malmsteen is a guitar god he actually pretty much invented shredding however he used to be a real douchebag like he told dimebag darrel the guitarist of pantera that he thinks the solo for cemetary gates which he wrote sounded awful just straight in his face however he has gotten a bit more humble
