I have to say rhenzy has been phenomenal in his performance so far,the fear and uncertainty along with the stutter has been a heartfelt performance so far for me,I mean I was here for colin from the start and knew Cristin was great before seeing what she's brought to the role but rhenzy deserves his flowers too
Sofia Falcone/Gigante is not a girl boss she’s a boss that’s a girl. She is one of the very FEW that’s been written very well. Great origin story with flaws and set backs. And because of that I’m rooting for her and was proud of her when she was walking to the table with her mom’s fur coat. Showed some sincerity with the men she’s about to lead.
@@AmandaFromWisconsin I wouldn’t say that. Look at the Acolyte for instance. That show was bad not because of wokeness. It was just a shitty show and got cancelled for a reason.
Sofia is my favorite character but she really don't know what she's asking for 😂 Robert Pattinson's Batman is extremely comic accurate especially when it comes to the worlds greatest detective aspect. Even as an inexperienced year 2 Batman if he were to drop into the show right now he could probably clean out the shows entire villain gallery in one night
I feel like she means like goons fight him, like Batman had a difficult time getting the riddler, and to be fair the riddler wanted to be caught. Also she could possibly have help from the gotham police force to, and she has money (well now she does). That’s really what I think she means by run for his money, also she also thinks she would het obliterated, she said it in other interviews.
She meant , Sofia is tricky and smart enough to play Batman around, use her femininity even + an act and create a scheme to use batman to hit another Gang or to set Batman into a trap.
@@StaminaMC I mean you have representation for just about everyone on screen in leading roles including those with disabilities and the show's run, directed, and written by women, which is really rare. Somehow in this and the Batman movie, they managed to build a world that feels organically diverse. What I mean by that is Jeffrey Wright wasn't cast as Jim Gordon to push any kind of agenda the way Disney does. He's simply clearly the best actor for the role. It isn't forced. Same with Selina Kyle, Victor, and so many of these characters. They just focused on hiring phenomenal actors and ended up with an organically diverse group which is really cool
@@MW92. The lead character is literally disabled and goes to the defense of anyone else who is disabled. Has a female taking over a male dominated business. And had 2 trans actors who Oz called Pretty ladies, in the very first episode. Cristin Milioti has a been a revelation! The height she's taken Sophia Gigante to is an implicit demand for the continuation of her character and its arc. I'm almost in a daze from this knockout punch of a performance. I think most of us are. And I say all this as Milioti is performing in the midst of Colin Farell, Rhenzy Feliz, Deirdre O'Connell, and The Kurgan - all of whom are putting in peak-level performances that are worthy of Emmys in their own right. The combined performative statement of this cast is so strong, it may end up unintentionally reshaping some of the already-settled considerations of the upcoming sequel to "The Batman", forcing Matt Reeves to reconsider the condition of Gotham in light of the war between Oz Cobb's street confederation and the combined Gigante-Muroni cartel into his material.
I love the character of Sofia that Cristin is bringing to life, but let’s not pretend she could fist fight a dude much bigger and infinitely better equipped than her and also infinitely better trained. Do you think that Oz could stand any chance in a fist fight against that guy!? Did you watch the film? 😂 look it’s no hate, it’s nothing against the characters. But if you’re meaning to imply she only needs a gun or a knife to threaten Bruce fucking Wayne, no.
Keeping it 100 as a mentally ill person who’s been in an inpatient facility I found the episode pretty offensive and I say this from a place of overall loving the show, still. But yeah my mental illness doesn’t make me a scary monsters, no thx on that.

I mean there are women in the show, but not at the expense of the men as a lot of shows have done recently. And hey, at least Penguin is still a dude in this one. Culture war stuff aside, the show is written and acted very well. There might be some political agendas sprinkled throughout (I'm not aware of them, but I'm sure if you're actively looking for them, they might be there). If they are there, it's subtle and written into the story in a way that isn't annoying and preachy like other projects. It's a character-driven story, so whatever moral judgments you make are up to your assessments of the characters' choices and actions - the show doesn't grandstand and force you to side with a certain worldview. It's actually an awesome show. And honestly, it's a show where the main character is a villain. There aren't any heroes here - everyone is evil.
Yeah like this character is Lady Shiva. The Penguin is a show disguised as a Penguin show, when in reality it’s a bait and switch and we have THE SOFIA FALCONE show, the rise of feminism!!! Now you got this actress in a delusional state thinking she’s some superb supervillain.
THE PENGUIN IS FIRE 🔥 🔥 SOPHIA COULD NEVER TAKE ON THE BATMAN 😂😂 BUT PLEASE KEEP POLITICS AND LIBERAL FEMINIST OUT OF THIS KEEP THE SHOW THE WAY IT IS..!? (CHEF'S KISS) 😘👌(MASTERPIECE)
At least they made her flawed and not perfect. I feel like a lot of the major female characters in Hollywood like Rey , Galadriel , captain marvel. Are so perfect no one can resonate. And I like that Sofia has a darkness around her. It’s a character well written, and well acted. A case where it’s done right.
Shes taking her mother's maiden name because she wants to be a matriarcal boss? She does realize that her mother's last name is from her father's right? Stop with the feminism bs before you ruin the penguin.
It actually comes directly from Batman: The Long Halloween and its sequel Batman: Dark Victory. She married a gangster named Rocco Gigante. But I still think this a nice touch. Chill the fuck out lol.
It’s a great show and it’s making me want The Batman 2 as soon as possible. I think all this attention to Sofia is going to lead some folks to disappointment though. They’re not taking into account that this is Penguins story. His rise to power. Not hers. She is only Penguins villain. Colin Farrell has already said when it’s over we’re not going to like Penguin. The only logical outcome I see for Sofia is to be killed or to wind up back in Arkham. Vic is who I worry about.
@@MichaelWebb-py6jd I think we're going to get more Penguin exploration in the back half of the season. They talked about delving into his relationship with mother & some inciting incident relating to her in his past. First of all... The name she carries (Gigante) did not come from her mother but from her husband. In the comics Sofia is MARRIED to a Gigante. Because the series needs to be anti-patriarchy... 💩
