    Was hired in '85 underground electric and got my splicing title in' 90. Amazed that so many methods and equipment were basically the same into the '90s..

    50+ years later and more power being used than ever. Fortunately, much from solar and wind, but even those methods have environmental impacts. Long as population grows, so will consumption of power and other things. Remarkable how much electricity systems advanced from 1920 to 1972 versus that same time span (52 years) to now.

Desk , also Switching desk ...retired May 2012 ...oh the Memories ....very nice Video......Enjoying Retirement..

    That was done the year before I began working for Con Edison, in Power Generation .. sure brings back memories!

    Interesting that power in NYC comes from Con Ed and in Chicagoland it comes from Com Ed.
    Consolidated Edison vs Commonwealth Edison.
    No idea if they are related.

    Very interesting video. This was the year I was born and seeing the world trade towers being built. So much has changed since then.
