Hi Chyna: I think that you are right on so many levels. But I will say for me the real challenge with overconsumption is with the videos themselves. Watching so many planner videos has made me discontent with what used to bring me so much joy. The need to make the best spread. It's exhausting. So this year, I am picking just a few to watch, and then just spend time defining my own style and creativity. I do love the stickers. But I have enough for three life times. So this year, I am using what I have, and destashing anything that does not spark joy! I love the common planner; I hope you enjoy it too.

I agree with you, the comparison trap is so real and it promotes me to buy even more. Glad to hear you’re focusing on your own creative style and shopping your stash! Thanks for watching!

I feel the same way! Stickers made me lose site of my planning, stressed me out, couldn’t tell if I were coming or going! Also I really thought about what I need a planner for, I do not need to write down laundry, clean house etc. so I have a pocket planner similar to your $1 one, and it is perfect! All the money I have spent…and it’s the simple 2$ planner that has brought me so much peace! 😁

Glad that I’m not the only one that feels this way! I definitely found myself doing that as well, writing every single thing down, just because I felt I needed to have things to fill my planner with. Sometimes the most simple thing is what works best! Happy you found a planner that works for you!

Great line up. I think it’s definitely challenging separating the functionality of planning with the hobby and making decisions that does not feed into the consumerism if it all.

Thank you, and I absolutely agree! It's really hard to take part in the hobby and not get sucked into constantly buying.

Love seeing how you simplified everything after the planner chaos. I have a problem: if you remember, I was in the same spot as you when you uploaded the chaos video. The problem is, I had already purchased way too many planners for 2024 and now even though I know my likes, i feel the compulsion to use them all because otherwise the money is wasted! :(

Yes I remember! I absolutely understand how you feel…. It’s really hard to sit and look at planners and try to force yourself to use them. There are a few facebook groups and probably other places where you might be able to resell if you want to try and get some of your money back. Wishing you the best planning luck next year, and it’s ok, you’re definitely not alone, This year was a wake up call for a lot of us!

The planner i'm using for 2024 is one that I bought last year and didn't use. I spent an afternoon in November re-dating it for 2024. So if you can't sell what you won't use, don't forget that they still have use. ❤

I’m using an A5 common planner and am also moving more towards a functional/minimal planning style. It was getting to be too much and I need a fresh start for 2024

That sounds great! I think a lot of planners are moving towards more functional/minimal planning. “ A fresh start” is the perfect way to put it, I hope the common planner provides you with that fresh start. Happy planning in 2024!

For me i use a messy planner (not decorative) for my catch all. However, my memory planner is where I decorate. I have so many sticker kits that I want to use them up. and since It's a memory planner I can put them down after the fact. And I don't have to worry about messing it up with actual messy plans.

That’s a great system, I love the idea of a messy planner but having space to decorate in your memory planner! I’m hoping my lineup works that way for 2024.

@@ChynnaNicoleplans It sounds like you've spent a lot of time thinking about what works and what doesn't, so I think you're definitely on the right track. Just watch out for those planner thirst traps on social media haha
