This is just one of the comedic teams my parents, born in 1898 and 1902, used to talk about with great fondness, especially my father! Edgar Bergen and Mortimer Snerd was another.

Edgar Bergen and his comic creations like Mortimer and Charlie are just as funny today as they were 70 years ago. Bergen had a incredible talent that time cannot erode.

I like looking at the radios used in these pictures this is a zenith maybe 1935
The next one Christmas of 1943 is an RCA Victor that was probably made 5 years prior, 1938 or so?
My grandmother Mildred Watts Riley Scent/ had the zenith in the kitchen then my uncle gave her the victor after he got out of the army, working at standard oil/ now bp Amaco.

Will look it up again and let you know. Think you are close. Will be adding more to some shows as I upload them. Thanks so much for listening.

Sept 2021. Hot in Chicago. 88f with humidity. 79 years later. They are still THE coolest radio show ever. 📻 ever.
-Only Garfield Goose is 2/5th as cool. 📺

Fibber's $15.00 may not sound like a lot, until you realize that in today's money (November, 2020) that $15.00 is worth $231.35.

Fibber and Great Gildersleeve are my favorite old shows. I always wonder how much wax the Johnson company sold. 😊
