Great Video as always, But im too short to push up on a door frame hahaha. I use a Mora for fine work and food prep, I use a Becker BK2 for serious work.
I have a hard time finding a knife I like because the edge is not close enough to the handle. For some reason knife manufactures want the edge to start 1/2" or more from the handle. Even worse is the half ass choil which is not big enough to actually be one such as on Buck knives. It's just there for looks and if you try to use it you cut your index finger. I actually do like a thumb ramp on big thick knives if they are comfortable. I grind off the serrations on my Becker BK knives with a half oval file which greatly improves the comfort and usability. I have the BK7 and 9.
Nothing to do with this video but I did make a flint and steel out of a file and finding rocks like another video using 00 steel wool to catch sparks and everything is working perfectly thanks
What I like most about your videos is, short and to the point. A lot of other people have too much talking and not enough info. Thanks
Dan makes really very enjoyable leaasons, even for a non native speaker like me!
I second this!
30 years ago my arms looked like yours. Now at 65, my arms look a little less like that stick. I know my limitations, but I love this channel!!!
I hear you I am 68 and 40 years ago my arms looked like that too.😅
@@RobertBrown-n6h Heck yeah, Like I said I know my limitations. So now I get some kids from my church to do the stuff and I have a cup of coffee!
Eat more protein and move more. I'm 66. Getting stronger, every day.

I like the higher grind on that knife.
Good stuff! Thumb on the back of the blade during a power cut = inexperience, however I see so called "experts" doing it all the time!

Morning Dan...Hello from Wisconsin.
