  • Well, with the first storm of the fall season on the horizon, we decided to get Vestri pulled out of the water and safe and sound on dry land. All went smoothly, and we are now moving stuff back into the RV and organizing our storage room. Once that is done, I will winterize the boat and put the cover on. Soon, we will be heading south in the RV for our desert boondocking adventures!

Have a good rest, Vestri. We will all miss you. You guys really did have a wonderful season, and I love that you got that one additional whale sighting on your way back to dry storage. Sweet blessing. Now you get to put the captain's hat on, Ray. Bless your winter season and time in the desert down here. Lot's more wonderful times ahead.

That seems like a lot of work to off-boat and on-rv each season. But I gotta say, I think I would find it worth it. There's almost nothing I love more in this world than being on a boat.

Thank you Ray and welcome back to living on the road. We'll be leaving Atlantic Canada in one week as we work our way south/west for the winter, who knows maybe we'll meet up in the Thermal area this year. Safe travels.

Take your time coming south. It's still 115 in Cibola today and surrounding area is hot, hot.

Will do. 2 more weeks here, then 2 weeks on Vancouver Island, then about 2 weeks to travel down south. So it should be a nice temp when we get there, usually around Thanksgiving time. :)

Ray, How often do you have to scrape the hull? Never if dry docked after the boating season ends? Handy that you can park your travel trailer at the boat yard.

It gets a power wash after the end of the boating season, which was about 4 months. We chose a type of anti fouling bottom paint that's is specifically designed for being out of the water in storage too. So when we come back next spring it won't need any work just a quick clean and rinse and be good to go. The paint makes it hard for stuff to stick to the bottom so we won't need to scrap it off. Expensive upfront cost but saves time/money for years to come.
