ZYU 2 for YOU! (*no sound)

- By request: This is another very loooong one strictly for the the SENTAI fans. It's some of the footage I would get prior to shooting an episode of MMPR during Season 1.
When the rights to the Japanese show was originally purchased they also made a deal to get some extra footage shot using the Zyu Ranger suits to pad out the first season. I joined the show about 8 episodes or so into Season 1 to direct the action.
No one knew then if the show would last or not and the Japanese no longer used those suits. In the beginning we tried to use as much of the cheaper Japan footage as we could obtain. The object was to keep the production costs down.
We were able to use some of the footage they sent, but had to discard some as well whenever the censors thought the use of weapons or something should be taken out. The rules about this changed from show to show depending on how the censor felt after viewing a rough-cut of an episode. Often I would have to shoot something to replace something they didn't approve of.
My job was to watch ALL of the Japan footage we had and then add both 'civilian fights' (actors without suits) and 'hero fights' (the Power Rangers) to the footage and edit it all together. Eventually we ran out of what became known as 'Zyu 2' footage and I just shot everything (except the Zord battles).
When Season 2 began we only used the footage of White Ranger (from Dai Ranger) as he was riding his Zord. All of his fights were performed by either Hien Nguyen or Tomoe Oe. (Hien also played the Green Ranger and was White Ranger in the movie) The actors only wore the suits when they stood around talking in the Command Center. All of the acting and fighting in the suits was performed by the stunt team.
When the Japanese had finished with a monster suit they would ship it to us and we would use it. We tried to use everything over and over as much as possible to save money. You can see a little behind the scene of the suits in my MMPR stunt documentary on this channel.
Can’t believe they not only went through the trouble of shipping the old sets to the staff, ie the suits, props, and sound effects files, but had the original creators from Japan to film new footage.
21:56 if you look closely on the right you can see the crew and gear truck.
Saban didn't use Oizumi On'ei sound effects, but instead their own in-house foley.
They didn't send sets to Saban, Toei only supplied the costumes, some props (like weapons etc.) and of course the filmed footage itself.
In Space and Wild Force has sound effects from its counterpart, the famous Samuel Pop Aning's 3-3-5 voice from Megaranger and the mecha summoning sound from Gaoranger.
Saban: Hey Toei, can you shoot some more suit footage for our adaptation?
Toei: Sure, as long as we can crucify the Zyurangers in it.
Saban: ...
Toei:...I never said you had to USE it.
It's nice to actually see the original Megazord in these fights.
True but we’ll probably never see The guitardo Zord Fight scene if there ever was one?? and dragonzord In battle and trex v soccadillo.
@@amg4150 That's because there was no Megazord fight with Guitardo!
@@aaronmaguire4678 just because guitardo was destroyed by the power blaster doesn’t mean there wasn’t a megazord battle? Maybe it was cut out? 🤔 other monster fights were cut too?
@@amg4150 Based on what we see in this footage, Toei filmed 2 versions of each monster's death: the Power Blaster and Megazord/Ultrazord.
@@chrislarosa3866I noticed that. It was a very clever trick that toei used. I just wish there was footage of dragonzord In battle and T Rex vs soccadillo. For guitardo . I think it’s a safe bet power sword was the finisher.
How could 2 people dislike this, I mean this is like the holy grail to both Super Sentai and Power Ranger fans.
Maybe they had their computer monitor/laptop screen upside down
Al W Still.
It was Rita and Zedd
***** AH HA!!! :D
*****
Or perhaps Scorpina and Goldar considering that maybe they wanted to have a part to play in the zyu2 footage
The fans have been waiting 20 years for this. Thank you so much for uploading this!
Is it weird that even without sound I can still hear the dialog in my head?
Thank you for posting this. It confirms some of the thoughts I had about the show.
1. The reason the green ranger is captured first by Octophantom is he was not in the Zyu2 footage.
2. The Zyu2 footage of Turban Shell was only of zord fights.
Also it was interesting to see that the reason there was some new footage shot in "Welcome to Venus Island" is they were trying to not show the buildings in the background.
Jeff thank you, THANK YOU for uploading the unedited original Zyu2 footage that Toei wanted MMPR fans to see, but sadly Saban and Bandai had other plans. What's sad was they could have gone straight to Dairanger and left this footage in tact, but they really wanted those Thunderzords in the show and thus, well we know what the end result would become. I had a feeling that Toei shipped over the exclusive suits as well as the footage, seeing as though those Zyu2 monsters leapt popping up during Season 2 and at the beginning of Season 3. They should probably go by the name of the Rita Reserves, whenever new monsters fail just send out the recyclable monsters. I'll bet that could have saved Finster some much needed monster clay. :D But I do go on, thanks again for the footage. :) Also monsters with post it notes and unfamiliar with western customs FTW! :D
You ARE the man dear sir, for posting this video up!
I'm a massive fan of the Zyu2 era monsters, and to see all this unearthed footage a day before my birthday was a REAL treat! I prey that Saban or Shout! Factory won't yank this material offline, because its been unseen for far too long as it is. And would be a cruel turn of events indeed.
Cheers to Jeff Pruitt, Primator, Bloom of Doom, Turben Shell, Octophantom, and that Flytrap dude!
One of my favorite shows! I ❤ PR!!! I didn't know you also work on this show. I'm your fan!!! First Buffy and now I see your great job here.
OMG I always knew something happaned when Red Ranger said that Primator was the one with them at 4:05... so glad we can finally see this in its entireity!
I love the wirework on Dragonzord's tail. Also props to the guy inside the costume. It's very blocky but he makes it look agile and lively.
I wondered how they got the tail to stay in the air. Or maybe it was just built with enough weight on one end to keep the other side pointing upwards.
Okay. I promise I'll look for more footage for you guys. I'm sure I have something interesting buried in storage somewhere.
To answer some questions: The Power Rangers were actually played by our stunt team. The actors only wore the suits when the helmets were off. The rest of the time I shot the stunt team acting without sound and the actors dubbed their voices in later.
WHITE RANGER was a little kid in the Japan footage so we only used the bit with him riding his Zord (which you can see here being filmed in Japan). All of the White Ranger fights were performed by our stunt guys, Hien Nugyen and Tomoe Oe. (Hien also played White Ranger in the movie and was the Green Ranger too).
There was only a little bit of actual "Zyu 2" footage shot in Japan when Saban first made the deal for the show for season one. The idea was to have more cheap footage available so that we would only have to shoot the "civilian" fights. But the show took off during season one and there wasn't enough. So we had to add more Ranger footage (shot by me and the American action unit) in order to have enough fight action for the American show. It worked so well that soon our action unit was shooting 60% of the entire series - including the actor's dialogue scenes.
The Japan footage I have came from the shows that were originally shot for the Japanese audience, but there is some of what you call "Zyu 2" in there too. So I'll post some more of that for everyone later on. It's a crazy way to make a show, but it worked very well and was very, very profitable for our bosses both at Saban and in Japan. In fact, the original MMPR turned out to be one of the most profitable shows in TV history and we're all pretty proud of that. ;)
How long did it take for the American action unit to do the stunts for a particular scene while filming around the Zyu2?
***** Hopefully you're able to upload Pirantishead, Robo-Goat and Stag Bettle. In Robo-Goat fight you can clearly tell it was Dino Mega-Zord's sword when Robo-Goat is walking backwards in fear. In the Stag-Beetle fight, when he kicks the zord you can clearly see Saber-tooth Tiger and Triceratops feet mode in the explosion.
***** I'm personally interested in seeing some Guitardo/MinGuitar material. I wonder if there was a zord battle involved.
How come some of the Zyu2 footage of Primator, Bloom of Doom, Octophantom, Invensable Flytrap, and Turbanshell was deemed inappropriate by censors?
MicrowaveMeShow We got all of those monster suits and made fights and acting scenes with them, but all of the giant Zord battles were done in Japan. We would do our action and make the monster grow large and then edit that to the Japanese giant battles.
I would shoot tons of flipping Putties and Rangers over camera and other shots that we could insert into any scene in later episodes. My producer, Jonathan Tzachor, did the same kind of thing with the interior shots of the Rangers talking to each other while inside the Zords.
We would simply shoot generic acting bits with the Ranger stunt team talking to each other and later edit various versions to go with whatever episode we were making and have the actors dub their voices. It was very economical that way.
As a Super Sentai fan not a Power Rangers fan. This is a real treat!!!! Of the 50 episodes, those several monsters never appeared and it would have had a story on it's own if the old actors would have done a straight to video Zyurangers untold adventures stories. I do not understand Saban can save money by getting those SFX action scenes. Toei still had to pay JAC and PLEX for both the action and the monster suits. So Saban is paying for more money to get those scenes done!!!
Anyway thanks for the showing Jeff.
I mean who are the production crew filming these while Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Kamen Rider ZO, and Janperson were filming at that year?
So much good footage gone to waste just so Saban could sell toys.
At least we got more American footage in the end because of it.
I know, I agree. The other mad thing Is they thunderzord and tiger Zord toys would still have sold very well even if the footage was left in.
Jeff one thing I always wondered is if Zyu2 had a "Script" Like I know it was just fight footage to be inserted into a US episode, but did they actually have a story with "lines" for the suit actors to react as if they were saying (even if it would not be the same as the US version), or did they just improv movements and figured the US department could worry about coming up with some line to fit in there. Come to think of it how did you guys film the US suit scenes? Did you have the script to have the suit actors know the lines to react appopriately or did you just improvize the suit movements and let the script writers have to make up a short line to the movements.
The work you guys do is very under appreciated, and not many know how hard it is to move like that in those suits/helmets/costumes especially the monsters. Not to mention how many takes. Either way Thank you for this, and for some of the greatest action scenes ever put on television.
Please give us the rest of zyu2 please :(😢
From first 60 seconds, I can already fill in dialogue just based off their body languages.
This video made my night. Such great action with the Primator. Kinda sad it wasn't all used in the original ep. And that putty fight with Tommy and Trini with the Invenusable Flytrap... BAD. ASS.
As others have said, many thanks for this. You've helped put many fan theories to rest. If you have any more footage, we'd all love to see it.
Also, I find it hilarious that one rumor was proven right. Primator grabbed Pink's boob... FALSE. Bloom was altered by Lokar... FALSE. Flytrap was destroyed by Dragonzord Battle Mode... FALSE. Turbanshell and Pirantis Head were from the same block of footage... FALSE.
Octophantom tried to crucify the Rangers... TRUE!
Great stuff, thanks again!
I can’t believe Saban didn’t think this through. He should have used those scenes. They are so epic.
Saban the person doesn't run the show. He owns the company but Shuki Levy did most of the overall creative decisions at the time, plus Tony Oliver was script supervisor, BS&P at Fox Kids would have a say in what content wasn't appropriate, an editor would have to take stuff out for time if the episode was running too long, Bandai probably made the call for the show to start using the Thunderzords for season 2's premiere instead of waiting for the Zyu2 footage to be used up etc etc
TLDW: Television is a collaborative effort, not a one man show
@@ch2010ize bad call from Bandai, don’t you think?
@@ch2010ize They could have put all the Zyu2 monsters in season 1 and started season 2 with the first dairanger monster from s2 episode 13. That way they could have left the zords and putties in the footage as they were filmed.
@thealmightyfalcon1359 No, they couldn't because they have to work with the number of episodes that Fox Kids gives them.
If their season order ends before they use all the Zyu2 monsters than they're forced to save the rest for season 2. If Bandai demands, they include the Thunder Megazords in the season 2 premiere to start advertising the new toys then they're forced to have the Zyu2 monsters fight the Thunderzord and edit out the Dinozord
@@ch2010ize like I said bad call.
33:11 you can see Dragonzord walking differently and behind Megazord like he's weakened. I know the footage of this was used for "Green No More", so it does make sense for Dragonzord to be weaker in this battle hence why he was defeated so easily by Turbanshell.
Also, I don't think this is strictly just for the Super Sentai fans when you think about it. The Zyu2 footage was created exclusively for Power Rangers in the US despite it being worked on by the Japanese directors and actors at Toei. Due to that, I feel this is just as much for the Power Ranger fans as it is for the Super Sentai fans. Now we can finally see what wasn't shown of this footage when Power Rangers aired despite the footage being made for it, and we also get to see some never before aired battles of the Dino Megazord and Dragonzord with monsters that were fought in the US with the Thunder Megazord most of the time.
My fandom perspective aside, as I said, thank you so much for uploading this, but I think it deserves more then that. The fanbase has been desperately begging to see the raw Zyu2 footage for quite some time, myself included. Due to that, this is like Christmas for Retro Power Rangers and Super Sentai fans. I think fans would want this more then the original zord toys released in 1993 and 1994.
You have become the most important person to the fans of Power Rangers for this and they will treasure this footage for many years to come.
Knowing it wasn't all the Zyu2 footage used in Season 2 as some monsters such as Robogoat and Guitardo being absent from what was shown here, if you have anymore or can obtain anymore, fans will be going even more crazy to see how all the original battles truly were.
One personal thing I loved was seeing how the teleport footage was shot and edited by Toei before it was brought to the US and edited by Saban for the colored teleportations we are more used to.
you have no idea how happy it makes me seeing this, i would been wished toei did remaster or at the very least included the Zyu2 Raw footage as an extra for the Zyuranger DVDs.
Just Zyuranger DVDs? Why not Power Rangers DVDs?
well, that's the thing, while we got some extras on the shout factory DVD sets, honestly, i don't think they could taken the extra mile, and i say the Zyuranger DVDs on the likely possibility that Saban misplaced and lost the materials for Zyu2 they had, (after all American companies tend to always rely on master tapes (sometimes retail EP VHS, like the classic TMNT DVDs).
Would make more sense if Toei still had the original film elements for the Zyu2 footage, and be included, even if it was in raw unrestored form and had deteriorated over time, unless of course they mastered the actual footage on tape instead of 16mm like they usually did.
What I'm waiting for is the scrapped Bioman adaptation to be shown entirely than the ones shown on the Galaxy Rangers trailer.
If only we could find a Zyu2 script or something to get an idea of what the Japanese actors were saying. I'd like to see how different it was or not from MMPR. Sometimes it seemed to me like the Zyu2 footage might have had some slightly different thematic intentions with the way certain things were direct and acted.
I don't think there was any Japanese dialogue. The 'plots' in these zyu2 clips seem very basic and easy to understand without it.
This is the most amazing video ever. The years we have all waited to even hear what parts of zyu 2 were cut let alone see the Raw footage. Fans have been asking for this for decades and we all feared it was destroyed or lost. Jeff you have made a lot of old kids very happy. All we need to know now is if Pythor actually existed. :-)
Well now. Looks like he really WAS the Bogus Red Ranger after all.
Lmao
Indeed, Damn it Haim and bloke in charge at Ban Dai America, why did you have to ruin Toei's hard work...Seriously! We want more Megazord!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was bothered by that scene! lol
David315842 They Didn't ruin it, They had to adjust two using the Dairanger Footage, plus they couldn't show all the Zyu2 stuff in under 30 minutes.
But would it really have hurt extending the episode by just 10 seconds to include the Bogus Red Ranger attacking the other rangers?
Amazing, historic footage! Might I ask that since time has passed, would you by any chance have a cleaner, high quality version of these available? I know you can only go so much with VHS rips / physical film, but it would be a such a dream to see these in a sharper image quality. If not, that's okay, this is still an ENORMOUS treasure to even be watching at all.
I had a feeling the Zyu2 footage was just footage without any dialogue, music or story. It was never, in any way, shape or form, extra episodes of Zyuranger.
So in technical terms, after the first 40-ish episodes of MMPR, it was all original footage until Season 2, when they started using Dairanger footage.
If you find anymore Zyu2 stuff in the vaults, even from Season 1, people would be fascinated to see it for sure.
I find a monster giving the finger to the Rangers more funny than I should. "F you, Rangers!"
So... this is extra footage made by Toei exclusively for Power Rangers?
Yep
FINALLY the silly conspiracy theories about Lokhar and Devil Bloom will be put to rest. LOL I guess the Grnangr guy from FB won't be happy about his super mega-secret Zyu2 footage being leaked in full video and MORE! :D
How would the rangers not see Primator imitate the Yellow Ranger and take his place in line when they're literally looking right at him?
I've been wondering the same since the first time I saw that episode
Power Rangers' logic.
People in the US can't seem to view the other Zyu2 video anymore. Instead, we get this message: "This video contains content from Victor Entertainment, Inc. It is not available in your country." Hopefully getting to see other Zyu2 material won't be a problem.
Thanks for this, I'm really hoping you have more. Turban Shell megazord fight is awesome.
Wow. There was a lot more that Saban didn't use than I thought. I did know that any footage of DaiZyuJin and the original putties weren't shown. But I see there was a lot more that just that footage.
So much wasted footage here. I feel like they should have waited to bring in Thunder Megazord/Dairenoh in later
Yeah, I can't help but wonder and imagine how the remaining unseen Zyu2 zord fights played out for pumpkin rapper and saliguana. Possibly guitardo if he had one. Besides the little clips they put in the episodes.
This is because Fox or Bandai America is pressuring Saban to start using Dairanger footage to promote more toys to buy.
0:19 Iconic shot right there.
Burai came back to life! :D
Mr. Pruitt... You're a hero to Power Ranger fans. I only watched Primator, but it was cool seeing Toei essentially making... well, Zyu 2. Also got a kick seeing the bits you cut out and the Dino Megazord fighting Primator (I don't care what the goofs say, I can't see it in the explosion footage). Thank you for sharing this with us. :)
Wish they had finished using this zord footage instead of the lame Thunderzord edits we got...
seeing ritas putties back up zedds monsters and the megazord fighting monsters i didnt see it fight on mmpr...this vidoe is giving me so many nerdgasms
I like to call the monsters DoraPrimate, DoraOcto, DoraPollen, DoraFlyTrap and DoraShella respectively.
Also, according to the wiki, it said that Burai originally died from TurbanShell's stomach acid and died after being spat out. Uh....I don't see any of that here?
Good point. People speculated that the Invenusable Flytrap battle had GouRyuJin in it. But no, he's not there!
Why wouldn't they have the suit?
Eli J. Brony Bity they couldn't salvage the Gouryuzin costume for the Zyu2 footage.
This is so awesome! I (like a lot of us I think) have been waiting to see this stuff for years and despaired of ever seeing it, so thanks so much for posting it!
Is it just me or did it feel creepy with the original octo footage when the captured rangers were being raised. cultural dissidence really did not help seeing those crucifix style frames and saber putties with blades at there necks. The open was funny with him defacing public property to bring out the rangers. The turbinshell fight looks better with the old zords and we were right once tommy was finished zack first jumps in to his zord and uses the freeze attack . And it looks like new zord summons were filmed and gaps left in to insert the stock footage. And the teleport effect used was the same as the Dora monster ones they blinked out
Some of these extended fight scenes would've been amazing if they kept them in
19:26 I can only imagine that parents would've had an absolute fit if this footage was actually used in The Power Stealer episode.
Carlos and the Count from Power Rangers Turbo has a Megazord being crucified in a cross by Count Nocturne. They got away with it using that scene without cutting it out.
Notice how all the kicks to the head and punches to the face are present in this raw footage but are missing in the final MMPR cut of the footage.
thank you jeff pruitt!! thank you! no more of seeing butchered up zyu2 footage on a tiny screen with each scene needing to load. this is how it should of been released. hope you find more. if not, thanks again!!
I saw a picture from a youtube short, that showed Tommy in the thunder megazord cockpit with a red symbol. Also saw a pic of notes saying to film rangers driving megazord w/Tommy. So I'm guessing Tommy was going to pilot Tor & they would all team up for the thunder ultrazord? It seems most logical to me.
Please release more zyu2 please
Why does each monster have a piece of paper with a number on it in the beginning of its footage? Does it have to do with the chronology of when the scenes were filmed?
Can you upload the Zyu2 footage of Saliguana and Pumpkin Rapper now please? I want to see it.

The Zord fight pacing in these footage were noticably slow compared to any existing Sentai shows at that time.
So not only is this full footage, but also at 4:05 there's actually an extended scene where Primator's plan to say that Jason is the fake one and the Rangers fight him. I like that.
Punching someone in the face is bad, mkay?
Actually, that was Primator at 4:05. Notice that he was the first one to fight.
the wanna-be ranger is one of my favourite MMPR episodes. It's amazing to see all the footage. also great to see what they took out of it. :-)
I wanna see the footage for Pumpkin Rapper, Guitardo and Saliguana.
Zyu2 Rangers have such a wide range of stunts. It's just night and day compared to modern Power Rangers.
i gotta question whether these scenes were made around the scenarios written for the show or if the scenarios were written around the footage received.
on one hand, the effort was made to make certain details lineup with the show (blue ranger being a genius, pink and green ranger being an item, red and green ranger being best friends) which would imply the former.
on the other hand, some monster fights were clearly made without the green ranger in mind and yet the episodes themselves made the green powers a central point of the plot which would imply the latter.
i believe the team in japan were given tips on what to include so it matched up character wise to the power rangers but they wernt specfically told EXACTLY what to include 100%
As for the green ranger not being included in fights that might actually have been an instruction from america and it makes sense. the green ranger was already known for missing battles before losing his powers so they could have said to continue leaving that element in the new footage.
Honestly if dragonzord was in every fight post coming back it would begin to be repetitive and least leaving tommy out every few episodes changed it up.
I wish Tommy and jason jumped in the air and shot beams at Primator like that.

Wow!,thank you so much for uploading this
Out of interest, did anyone expect Primator to turn himself into a zord during the zord fight? Ever since watching the wannabe ranger episode for the first time, I actually thought that Primator planned on that as I figured that if he could turn himself into a ranger, then why not a zord? Then since hearing of zyu2 footage, I did guess on zyu2 footage of Primator trying that the same way the cyclops monster did it in the green candle. We may not see any of that here, but either way, the Primator zord fight was still fun to watch, regardless of whether he turned himself into a zord or not.
This video certainly proved other zyu2 rumours to be false like Lokar, Goldar and Scorpina in Bloom of Doom fight, Bloom of Doom finished by Megadragonzord Z sphere, Burai digested and killed in Turbanshells belly, Invenusable Flytrap finished off by Dragonzord Battle Mode. Well we certainly don't see any of that here.
***** To be fair, the whole Venus island theme would have made the zord fight footage of Invenusable Flytrap unusable, but the writers had some control on what happens in each episode, so they could have skipped the power blaster part and have Invenusable Flytrap sneak off from the fight and go to Angel Grove or maybe write another episode where Invenusable Flytrap makes a comeback.
Time reasons is still an existing possibility for those zord fights not to be used, but I still consider your videos evidence that zyu2/dai spliced zord fights for those two monsters to be doable. After reading some comments, I feel like the only person who considers time reasons to be a reason to cut some footage. Time reasons is all I can think of for cutting the Primator ground fight short as it's a shame they didn't use real zyured warning the others of fake zyured being with them in the MMPR episode.
Even having FlyTrap starting the fight in Angel Grove park would have worked better as I always did wonder why Venus Island had park benches ;) considering that the location of the fight looked very park like. Same it's been nice talking to you and I sure hope Jeff finds the Guitardo zord fight as I look forward to your videos of that and anything else you may have planned.
***** I can't see why they wouldn't make a zord fight for Guitardo as all the other zyu2 monsters had one, despite having some ground fight finishers (or in some cases being possible they had one). If there was one for Guitardo, it wouldn't be surprising if he was finished off by either the ultrazord or power sword as every zyu2 monster we've seen were finished off by either of those two finishers. The zord fight probably had too much interaction with the dino megazord, making it unusable We'll just have to wait for Jeff to find more footage.
Where exactly can you find all those Zyuranger Season 2 footage that ain't part of the original Zyurangers series but exacting version of it from Toei Studios?
I think these videos might be the only source. Unless Toei or Saban have or had them saved somewhere, or copies of them.
I think this is the only one unless when 4K in Japan got adopted later on, hopefully they will probably release Zyuranger in 4K to include these as their "Bonus Feature" footage. Kamen Rider 1971 will be released in 4K Blu-Ray this year.
Great educational video, honestly, oh yeah and thanks for creating the center of my childhood fun :))
6:09 ROLL CALL!
These are awesome Jeff! If you have any more footage, the world would love to see it!
How can 5 people dislike this video? Either they were expecting full episodes or that they had their computer screens upside down
Absolutely amazing. After all these years we are now seeing what was meant to be all along. Thanks so much Jeff. All we need to know now is if Pythor really did exist. Maybe you could answer that one for us.
i think MammothRanger ripped his pants around 17:56
If you can find other unused Zyu2 footage, that'd be awesome. ;)
Woah....your channel is amazing, everything you post is so amazing
Can you upload more Zyu2 footage, please?
10:19 Nice Goggle Pink and FiveYellow impression, Kimberly.
Thank you SO much for posting this!!!
Has anyone noticed that out of all the two on one fights involving zyugreen, zyublue is the only one who we haven't seen fighting alongside zyugreen? One side of my brain is trying to use that idea suggest the existance of Pythor in zyu2, but however, one possible counter arguement I came up with after thinking outside the box is that zyugreen and zyublue could have had a two on one fight with one of the zyu2 monsters that we saw for round 1, but Saban had to cut straight to round 2 for time reasons.
Could it be that the numbers each monster showed (6, 11, 18, 19, 24) was the order in which each was meant to appear?
I think Toei didn't give Saban names for the monsters so the numbers would just be for identification purposes.
I think that's possible, but would be easier to figure out if we got to see Dramoles number noticing that in that episode, it looks as if Burai is meant to be coming back to life, even though that zyu2 was made especially for MMPR (which is why I had a feeling that there was no story line or sound or full episodes), the Dramole fight makes me wonder if they wanted to kill two birds with one stone and prepare for a Zyuranger season 2 in case they did decide on making a second season.
That was incredible thank u so much for uploading this
YOU ARE AMAZING!! Thank You Jeff Pruitt!!!
This is really great man. Thanks for looking out for the fans
I can't believe that a tiny piece of the invenusable fly trap zord fight from 31:17 was sitting right in front of our faces this whole time since they first time they aired green no more part 1.
This is a friggin holy grail, but I still have to ask: whats with the Megazord's chest being saran wrapped?? Was the "Pterodactyl" falling off due to the suit being old or what?
The shot at 3:00 kind of looks like Zyuranger are pretending to be Dairanger or Dairanger are dressed like Zyuranger as there's Green Ranger in shot but no Black Ranger.
I can't help wondering if that shot influenced more power ranger teams with a green ranger
@@wightman1987 Quite a lot of subsequent teams after Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were adapted from Sentai seasons that had Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Pink, and even Sentai's before Zyuranger had that as well. It was the five colors used in the first Sentai series, Gorenger, making it considered to be the default or traditional color scheme. I found that scene to be interesting when seeing it as a kid because it reminded me of the Turbo Rangers as they had those exact colors. I was pretty much watching reruns of Mighty Morphin by the time I began watching it myself and sometimes people can watch seasons out of order, and that's what happened with me.
Have you found any more zyu2 footage yet? Sure would love to see more stuff that got cut and confirmation of a Guitardo zord fight. I sure wish Saban gave Pumpkin Rapper a zord fight in season 1 which make me want to see more zyu2 footage more.
What didn't the censors approve of for some of the fight scenes in the Zyu2 footage?
Punches and kicks to the head were cut for the MMPR edit.
And also hanging in the cross Jesus style at 19:26. Turbanshell flipping off and throwing a gang sign at 36:15 too.
Primator scene takes place in Odaiba.
Nah it's Yokohama, the actors were placed behind the Cosmo Clock 21 in Minato Mirai.
Awesome video and never before scene sentai footage. Thanks Jeff. Power rangers is the best since childhood
Happy 30th Anniversary Power Rangers. ❤
Would be nice to see the other monsters footage too. Perhaps its too good to be true after all these years. 😅 I still love Power Rangers. Its morphin tiiiiiime. 🎉
Check out the Japan version of DAI RANGER. You might see the footage you are looking for.
I shot all of the footage of the Rangers and the Monster Suits. We used Japan footage for the Giant Zord vs Giant Monster battle at the end of each show.
As DAI Ranger finished using a suit they would ship it to me along with the Giant battle and anything I might be able to insert into our action scenes. 👌
@@JeffPruittstunts I know, even Dairanger has an unused giant battle I wasn't aware of until recent years when pictures from a Japanese magazine was posted on twitter. I was hoping you might be able to find the remaining season 2 monsters that didn't feature in the 2 Zyu2 videos you uploaded. I think I saw you mention once you have other tapes in storage in a warehouse. Otherwise they will remain lost media. I don't think anyone else has tapes of them to my knowledge. And I'm hoping the video quality hasn't deteriorated as I'm aware VHS tapes don't last forever. I would help you find them if I could, even if it took me a long time, haha. I like to come back to these videos from time to time but I can't help but wonder how the true fights played out that Toei filmed for Power Rangers with Saliguana and Pumpkin Rapper. When you used to watch the tapes, did you ever see a zord fight for Guitardo? That's a question I would love to know the answer to. It's the only monster from this set of 25 Zyu2 monsters that we don't know if they had a zord fight. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. It's ok if you don't want to reply anymore. Please have a nice day.
Best wishes.
@@JeffPruittstuntsDo you have the rest of the Zyu2 footage? I’m sure everyone would like to see the rest such as Guitardo, Saliguana, and Pumpkin Rapper.
Jeff, your second video was blocked by Victor Entertainment Inc. I've never heard of that company, but if they had any association with this footage, can you by chance dispute their claim so we can see the footage again. I get the feeling they may soon block this video, too and possibly any other sort of video you may bring us next from this series.
If you possibly can, try to remove the block of the second video.
26:10 RIP Thuy and JDF.
Once a ranger, always a ranger
Thank you for sharing this with us!
turbanshell was like fuck you trannasauras lol my favorite has to be the primator fight "hey guys thats the bogus redranger!" and he was right this was a great revelation
Dude, you are freaking awesome. Downloading this for my collection just incase if it gets taken down.
If it does, please keep me in mind - I'd love to get a copy if push comes to shove, though let us hope it doesn't.
Enshohma
Well, since the first video Jeff posted of the DaiRanger behind the Scenes is still up, I can imagine this video surviving too.
Also, did anyone else notice that Turban-Shell was FLIPPING OFF the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord? I can definitely see why the guys at Saban cut that out. Also, I like the bit in the footage where it better implies that Zack got back into the Mastadon-Zord and used it's freeze blast to hit Turban-Shell instead of a water-hose.
ZeltraxMillenium That scene was cut out mainly because of the presence of the Dinozords. The Rangers had the Thunderzords by this point, since Lord Zedd had destroyed the Dinozords. Also, it would've been cool to see ALL of the footage in MMPR (especially Zack using the Mastodon Zord to freeze Turbanshell).
Why is there pollen floating around a black background starting at 15:07? It just doesn't seem to make sense that such a scene would be included in an MMPR episode, even if the Dinozords were still there.
I think the raw petal footage was included in case Saban wanted to overlay it over any new American footage.
Michael Malik Makes sense, but I think that they could've done that themselves.
Please Jeff, give us more Zyu2.
I’m curios how are zord fights done do they use tiny cities or do they use giant animatronics, I heard some movies do that
They are using suit actors. Nowadays, they used CGI for mecha transformation. It used to be transforming toys back in the 80s and 90s.
did the footage come to you guys silent like this? I guess since it wasn't for a real show maybe they had no script but pretended like they were talking? Very cool btw
