    I added 12.56+20+31.4 why did I get 63.96?

  • @tonyale4
    @tonyale4 6 лет назад +3

    He didn't multiply the 12.56 by 2 in part 1 to place in memory. Therefore the answer is miscalculated less12.56 which should have derived to an answer of approximately 76.53.

      You don't need to multiply by 2. (3:06)

    This is wrong, You have to add 12.56 twice. Because thats the surface area of the two bases. So the answer would actually be 76.52

      Elfira Akhmedova actually the formula for the area of a 1/2 circle is 1/2*pi*r*r. He never divided his answer by 1/2, he took a short cut and left it as a whole circle, therefore, he had already "added" it twice, so your answer is wrong. I do think he should'nt taken the short cut because the answer will be off 1/100 th of a percentage.

      No. He right. Remember, he is calculating half the cylinder. 12.56 equals the surface area of 1and 3.

    Everyone knows that the area of a rectangle is Length X Width. In this case then the area of part 2 would be 2 X 5 which would equal 10. For some reason here, he took 4 X 10, doubling twice of one side. Everything else is correct. The final answer is 53.98.

    • @jasperruiz225
      @jasperruiz225 6 лет назад

      i think you meant to write 63.98 the width would be 4 since 2 is only the radius which is half of the diametre

    • @bobrichards421
      @bobrichards421 6 лет назад

      No. You are wrong. The area for number 2 is 4x5. The diameter is 4 not 2.

    • @shirleyanne3498
      @shirleyanne3498 5 лет назад

      2 is the radius and we r supposed to use diameter so 4 × 5
