Awesome Sir. I run a junior school magic club and teach them some of your more straightforward tricks...they come back week after week eager to tell me how theyve amazed and baffled their brothers, sisters, mums and dads and want to learn another trick. Some of these kids may not be amazing mathematicians or sportsmen...but they have found something that makes them centre of attention for a moment and that is worth more that a A+ in any subject to them....(obviously I keep the best tricks for myself :)) xxxxx
So I have a wedding to go to in a week, and I have a cousin who is freaking amazing at magic. I'm using your channel to out- magic him in a week :D Thank you so much!!
Hey Jay....just have to say this is my favourite impromptu mentalism effect....also initially I tried to use a different force than the countdown force because I thought it was too simple...but as I did the effect more often, I found that the countdown force worked perfectly...and is the most hands off...and clean..I think this is perfect example of not overthinking a sleight and appreciating simplicity....hats off to you man for creating this effect
Thanks Nitish. It's amazing how when you actually start SHARING A TRICK IN THE REAL WORLD so many doubts vanish. It's about using tricks that are simple, strong, and with well-motivated natural handlings. So glad you groove this one.
thanks for showing the double undercut, I've been lacking in my ability to do it well, being a visual learner just reading how to do it always left me a bit lost. actually seeing it broken down makes it so much easier.
You could, whatever number they say, throw that many cards away and lay the rest out on the table. Then, knowing which is their card say 'pick one' and if they pick their card then throw the others away and reveal it. But if they don't choose their card then simply throw away the one they pick and do it again until they pick their card or are left with it. What you could do if they pick their card with others left you could say 'not this one?' whilst pointing to another card and when they say no throw that card away. you can do this for all the remaining cards that aren't theirs so it looks like they chose their card. By the way I love your magic and videos Jay ☺
I love the hands-off effect. Still, the end leaves something dangling for me because the final, counted stack of cards ends up on the table unused. What if after they count the last five cards you said, "Yeah, you think you're really good, but not that good. It can't be this top card. That'll be your guess." Slide them the card face down. "I bet it could be one of these, though. Let the professional work..." Do some flibbity jippity stuff to pick a card from the final stack. And say, "So, what was your card?" Looking smug, flip yours. "Doh!" They flip theirs and end the trick by beating you (in a fistless, way, of course).
I've been using a countdown force for years and for the first time, about a month ago, someone said to me "But the card I choose will be whatever card was just on top of the deck, you just put it there." I've never been so blatantly caught in my life and had literally no idea how to talk my way out of that. Honestly, that was the first time anyone has ever called that out, even though it's the most obvious force in all of magic. All I could do was say "good job, guess we'll do a different trick."
Amazing, elegant and easy! My question is: what happens if they choose one of the lower cards which make the 2 cuts very strange since you are only left with a few cards?
you are a amazing magician and I have learned so much from you I've been impressing people and putting on small shows and the event going fantastic I was wondering if you can do a video of Fork bending or is that only on inside deception thank you so much and I look forward to your next video
Signatures add a lot to a trick BUT having people PEEK at a card does leave a more impossible impression than having them pick it, remove it from the deck, sign it, and then return it to the pack - less of a mind-reading experience for sure.
Um, yeah, about that. Some shit that just sort of 'appears' in my mouth, doesn't even come close to make sense FOR ME. It's not that often, but it happens. And howz about you and me don't tell nobody.
Hey, here's a question for you: What do you think impresses more; acting like you don't even try or like you have no idea why this (f.E. finding the four Aces) is happening?
I think it all comes down to the unique personality of the performer. That's the canvas everything else is 'painted on.' But for me, I absolutely love down-playing and acting very casually with all my tricks. More impressive and more entertaining.
In announcing to the spectator that they are going to find their own card, even with a "hopefully" added, it sort of cheats them out of the journey and gives away the ending. They may be inclined to glaze over the performance and focus only on the expected outcome. In a case like this, I'd prefer to be aloof about my intentions with the trick, speaking vaguely of a connection and saying something like, "Let's see what we can make happen." One point you mentioned briefly but I feel needs emphasis is not to call attention to the number of cards they touch. After saying, "Touch one," don't even mention two. Five is right out.
No worries. That's why I don't mention ANYTHING about 'counting cards' until after I've added the card from the bottom. It's also why I say, "Touch one, touch another, and another, and another, etc." Nobody ever thinks to count the cards at that point.
And if they say 10 (out of 10) just make the fake count to 5 and put the second half on the top (leaving the selected card on the bottom) looks more natural i guess :p
Why not make videos on particular sleight of hands rather than teaching the whole trick. I know this channel is meant to teach magic but I think it would be better for beginners to teach basic sleight of hands like overhanded shuffle controls. forces... Just an opinion. Also I love your response.
Thank YOU for your response Tyata. I think I understand that you are thinking about the 'secrecy' of magic tricks, but that's very old school. With Google, there are NO MORE SECRETS. Which is great. Because then magic will be all about the personality and the performance. Which is actually the REAL art of magic. :)
I love this guy
The best magic teacher ever.
yeah he explains good

Wishing you and your family ALL the best too!
what a great tutorial!
A good way to get a bigger reaction is for them to sign the card and then do the trick
Signatures add a lot to a trick BUT having people PEEK at a card does leave a more impossible impression than having them pick it, remove it from the deck, sign it, and then return it to the pack - less of a mind-reading experience for sure.
Best trick in my opinion

Um, yeah, about that. Some shit that just sort of 'appears' in my mouth, doesn't even come close to make sense FOR ME. It's not that often, but it happens. And howz about you and me don't tell nobody.

Looks like the gloves our off. Thank goodness for that. Powerful words amigo. Go in peace.
I can't believe you live in Toronto, my dream is to see you on the streets
IT. WILL. HAPPEN. #powerofbelief
you are the best can you do a trick where you can make a deck of cards vanish
Youre so funny!!!😂
Oh, alright. If you insist. :)
Awesome
Thanks KB!
Your most welcome Sir👍👍
you are a Genius
:)
The fact that i can recognize Chris Mayhew from his hands makes me feel strange.
Makes you feel 'strange' WHERE? #onelove
Was that a reference to a Bugs Bunny cartoon at the beginning?!?
What if the audience count how many cards they pointed to ? You add one more.

You did everything, so if it doesn't work it's Your fault!
#shotsfired #bodybag #911 #DOA :)
wooiw
If you insist! :)
RUclips needs to implement an auto-like for you channel
0026 is why you don't do drugs
00:26
Is Vernon God?
Nah. Just another dead human.
Hey Sankey, you are interested in girls a lot right? (Thumbnail)
so actually magic is for people with big hands kappa
Why does it say finds HER own car, what if the spectator is a guy
I think you should teach more sleights rather than revealing, no offense
Why do you think that? I'm curious. Tell me more...
Why not make videos on particular sleight of hands rather than teaching the whole trick.

Yeah thanks, your videos will help a lot in improving performances and talking skills.
I like the way you put in some comedies.
