That was Awesome! Thank you Luke and High Tech Solar for taking me on the tour! And Made in The U.S.A.!!!!!!!!! All Take care, God bless and Watch Your 6's!
liked the vid also the fact there are 3 anti-reverse protection diodes which most panels don't have. also you can change the output voltage with the series-parallel taps within the junction box
I would love to see what the waste stream from this facility looks like. Also what kinds of metals are used. Where is the silicon purified and what are the costs of that. My feeling is that we assume that these technologies are "sustainable" but that assumption is made without "looking under the hood" as to how they are made and what are the impacts.
How much power & fuel is used in the production of solar cells? I'm finding it hard to find an answer... Could you run a solar panel factory using your own solar power?
+Rob Knight Manufacturing solar cells takes A LOT of energy. Manufacturing panels doesn't take as much. The stringing and laminating takes a good amount of energy. But other than that, its pretty simple.
always ask at what rate do they degrade over time...maintence....you do not just hose.off ...also any discounts for reinstalling when home needs to be re roofed...yr home insurance will not insure you is roof over 20 yrs old

Thank you Luke! That was interesting. If you get the chance let the guys at High Tech Solar know that we did enjoy the tour!
Great video. Appreciate being able to still see Americans working.
Thank you guys for explaining how its made, great job
