Or you can just manually aim and fire at any time, also this is not the fastest way to gain runes. You're in the right spot just farming the wrong enemy and using the wrong weapon try the relic sword and use its ash skill on those fat head enemys on the road, the relic sword should one shot all of them and it's got a far reach rinse and repeat you'll earn like 15 to 20k extra runes. Also I think the skill scales with faith my faith is at like 40+

I used this but there is a much better one nearby with the simplest parkour ever. The bird just kinda gets tedious
