Lost in vivo is my favorite horror game and it probably won't ever be beat. All it needs right now is for Markiplier to return and play it since he played the demo years and years ago. Deserves so much more attention than it has.
Seriously dude ive been playing horror games my whole life and Lost in Vivo just got me like nothing else has. I love this game so much its too underrated
Cju did a playthrough, that's the one I watched and he's great. Probably one of my fav horror let's players cause he doesn't overreact like so many others do.
Another option, not sure if you've covered this before, is called Total Chaos. Absolutely phenomenal game. It's free and it's basically a linear survival horror RPG where you go into an abandoned mining colony to find out what happened there. The story is cryptic but really heavy hitting when you realize what it means. The monster design is phenomenal, it has really fluid combat, and the most insane part is that ITS A DOOM MOD. The graphics are amazing but it's literally a doom mod. Inventory management, complex crafting and weapon systems, and like a 6-10 hour playthrough with multiple endings and tons of secrets, so lots of replayability. Pyrocynical has a fantastic video on it if you want a summary of the gameplay and story.
The remake also got a Steam page. It’s going to be made in Unity instead of Unreal Engine because of the dev’s experience with it after Turbo Overkill.
I came to this comment section to see if anybody was talking about this game. Truly love to see more recognition for an amazing game. Total chaos is one of my favorite games ever. Despite some janky movement and small bugs, the inventory management system is incredibly rewarding. it's criminality underrated and should be seen by way more people. Hopefully Zeark will mention it in another video so more people can find it.
apart from the spider room, its not scary, that game was not scary due to how many times you have to east or repair weapons and kill so many enemies it feels like a chore., cry of fear is doing it right.
I absolutely love the Condemned games. Both games deserve a lot of credit for their dynamic enemies. I'm glad you mentioned them ripping weapons such as pipes affecting the lights and shit. But just the fact that they aren't necesssarily spawned in at specific triggers, but actually run around you and hide behind things, it's so fucking good. It's a shame Condemned 2 is stuck on 20 fps on 360 and PS3. The combat is absolutely amazing, I loooove how it handles your left and right triggers as your left and right hands.
I was a bit bummed that Condemned 2 wasn't easy to reply, because I wanted to hear you talk about the grizzly bear chase sequence. To this day, one of the greatest and most tense horror experiences I've ever had.
ANATOMY is the most disturbing game I have ever seen. It doesn’t rely on jump scares for its horror factor. Like there’s none at all but it still manages to be absolutely terrifying. I think that’s what makes it so good.
I’ve seen another game similar to “lost in Vivo”. It’s on steam as well and it’s called “Rotten flesh” it has a similar plot and feels almost identical to Vivo but it has more of a 8bit horror aesthetic to it
Condemned 2 Bloodshot can be played if you own game pass ultimate. it's part of the library of 360 games they have; or atleast it was I re-played through it a few months ago
Alien isolation makes me jump every time I try playing it, gonna try to go through the whole thing this month along with silent hill 2 if I can get the cash for it
For your next scary movie video PLEASE watch The Lighthouse by Robert Eggers, one of the best psychological horror films imo Edit: Lost in Vivo is amazing Ty for covering it
For the next horror games video I highly recommend the game Bad Parenting! Its free, short, and very interesting, and i enjoyed it quite a bit, It finished in about 30 minutes P.s love all your videos! ♥️
I commented it on one of your previous "horror games that are actually scary" videos but feel like I should mention it again here because the game is that good, a horror game I'd highly recommend you play is Darkwood. It's very unique being a top-down perspective but limiting your vision to a cone, and it's an excellently made game. The graphics are kind of low-fidelity but beautifully (or horrifyingly) crafted, the sound design is immaculate, the writing and story are top notch and the gameplay loop of exploring in the day to gather resources, then stowing away in a hideout at night while all sorts of horrific creatures try to break in and find you at night is very well done. It also has great replay value since there are a lot of random elements and ways the story and events will change depending on your actions.
im SO so happy you played lost in vivo. genuinely grinned ear to ear when i saw the beautiful endboss on the thumbnail. Im glad you liked it and i can definitely understand the criticism, i had the same issue especially in the lab sequence :'). But apart from that i adore it. Also im quite curios which ending you got on your first playthrough :D (i got the good ending but mostly because i had a buddy with me when i started and he convinced me not to straight up leave the sewers xd)
Condemned is one of my favorite horror games of all time. from what I remember I think the company who made the game monolith productions are currently working on a different project right now but if they could somehow let a different company remake the first title that would be amazing, maybe the people who made outlast would honestly be the right fit for them to work on it.
Monolith is doing a wonder woman game afaik, sucks they got bought up by WB games cause they don't do horror games at all anymore. Same story with a lot of these iconic studios, they're not the same people that made all those great games.
Its among the most popular horror games of all time so i dont think people are sleeping on it. Its more awesome horror games that most people have probably never heard about like Song Of Horror for example that people are sleeping on.
Condemned 2 is so glitchy,I got my characters body stuck in a cutscene position and I couldn't interact with anything, basically corrupting my save file......yikes
Hey man not sure if you’ll get this but if you do honestly thank you so much for putting the time and effort in to these videos for someone that has played many of the games you’ve mentioned and movies it’s really great to see such an engaging youtuber talk about all these niches ❤
I really like your videos because i like horror, and you talk about horror things in a really interesting and fun way, plus, your personality is pretty interesting in general and i like the way you speak. So if you did anything non horror, id still probably watch just for your personality
If you haven’t checked it out, notebook entries volume 1 is a fantastic horror anthology. I think a few of them are much more standout examples than others within the anthology, but the ones that are good are so good
The Condemned games Seriously need a Remaster. I was almost halfway into the game until my 360 stopped working. This game and the F.E.A.R trilogy need a remaster comeback. Better graphics and better gameplay controls please.
Omg I remember playing condemed 2 when I was a kid on my ps3 I used to play it with my older brother and we would take turns playing it. This game was scary asf
hey there, amazing video as always and im hoping to check you opinion on Dreadout someday, just replayed it recently and ngl i really miss Fatal Frame... also, since you've talked abt movies, recently i've started watching some spooky movies with my gf and wanted to give you some recommendations: Noroi The Curse (haven't watched this one but im really hyped to see) Reincarnation (it's the 2005 movie, also the final moments were just WOW) Mute Witness (we got REALLY desperate watching this one so if you haven't checked this one yet gl for you xD) Yokai Monsters 100 Monsters (haven't watched this one too but this movie got me because it looks sooo goofy that made me watch it). oh, yeah, big thanks that this month you'll upload more, i've been watching some of the old ones to make sure youtube sends me the notification when you upload a new one. hope you have a spooky month and big hi5 from brazilian fan (me)
Bro, you just have to play Darkwood. It’s not only one of the scariest but also one of the beste games of this millennium. Seriously, ist freakin great.
Bruh I’m so glad to see that you got out of the old niche you were in and are getting crazy views again. I remember when you did your gaming chair building stream forever ago 😭😂 glad to see u doing well
Soma is my most fav horror game tho. Its a different kind of scary, i love the lore and the philosophies behind it. The environments are detailed and the atmosphere/sound design are perfect for an immersive experience!
Man I remember when Condemned 1 came out, I think along with Prey it was one of the first games I played on the 360 and it (along with Prey) blew my mind at the time. I'm such a horror game wuss tho that I only lasted a couple hours I think before noping out lol
If you liked Condemned you should check out Butcher's Creek, it's being developed by the guy who made Dusk and Iron Lung and is supposed to be inspired by the Condemned franchise. Also we were supposed to get a sequel to Condemned 2 that cleared up a lot of the confusing story elements I'm still upset about that getting cancelled...
Could you do a video with gamerecommandations for newbies? I love horror but I'm so jumpy I can't really play horror games :') Like maybe games without jumpscares
A great game to play if you haven’t already is Faith: the Unholy Trinity. Easily one of the greatest games and stories ever and will spook you despite the graphics. Check it out! The dev is awesome and the work, love and detail they put into it is very evident
Seeing sega on a horrogsme is like seeing fucki ng disney on the texas chainsaw massacre. I do not expect the same company that made sonic to have horror titles
I’d love to see you talk about some rpg horror games, I know a lot of them are pretty meh, but my favourite game of all time is an rpg called Omori and it’s absolutely amazing, and there are a lot of other hidden gems out there that I’d love to see you look at
You should play a long night at the station I don’t know if you’ll find it but there’s a reallllllllyyyyy goood and accurate depiction of it on dreams😅
Zeark, i miss your old content. Remember liminal spaces? Oh man, those were good times. You may not remember me, but i was Drummer Boy i believe. (It’s called Drummer Boy - Topic now.) Go make some more liminal space videos zeark, bye.
Great video as always! If you're looking for recommendations, here are my two cents: 1. Love, Sam: a short, cheap and somewhat overlooked indie gem. Incredibly interesting storytelling and some genuinely creepy moments throughout. Your description of Is Simon There very much reminded me of it. 2. Doki Doki Literature Club: no, I'm not joking. Just mentioning this in case you're like me and overlooked it because it seemed like a popular fad game with predictable twists and anime girls. I tried it out after multiple recommendations and it's an insanely deep psychological horror experience. It's not as scary as it is genuinely heavy, indirectly leading you to self reflection. It's actually one of my favorite games period.
The only horror game I genuinely couldn’t play because of anxiety was Nun Massacre. I have yet to beat it because I simply cannot continue playing it due to the actual physical anxiety it gives me.

Also I agree the sound design is amazing, especially with the eyeless guy. That scared the SHIT out of me
Condemned 2 on the 360 was crazy
Alien isolation makes me jump every time I try playing it, gonna try to go through the whole thing this month along with silent hill 2 if I can get the cash for it

Awesome video! Had to chuckle as you showed a screenshot of Dead By Daylight while talking about Silent Hill 😂 11:50

Imagine a horror game specifically made for Zeark. I wonder how he would think about that.
I hope one day there are remasters or remakes of the condemned games. The 1st ones atmosphere was amazing.

Condemned: Criminal Origins is a horror classic, loved that game back in the day. Was ahead of its time imo, the atmosphere was so fucking foreboding.
