Yeah I hardly play MP1 anymore, and when I do I run out of cars to use very quickly because of the extremely limited selection (especially for class S, which makes it hard to climb the Leaderboard in LL). And I stopped playing MP2 altogether because of the broken ratings system. Gameloft made a big mistake removing the free try MP seasons because at least they kept MP interesting, being able to try new/rare cars all the time. Plus the rewards are garbage compared to what they used to be even 1 or 2 years ago. I log in once or twice a day to play events and that's it. Even the clash hasn't developed beyond what it was when it was first launched. Honestly I think cross-platform is the only thing keeping this game alive, and we'll see how long that lasts.
It's good they limited the negative scores to -10, for the rest they depend on the rating of your opponents, I got a negative for 3rd once and positives for 4th and 5th if there was a higher ranked opponent below me

much like you, i strive for this game/expansion to succeed instead of being a glorified "mobile game" with it's crappy dynamic lighting. i've gotten so fed up with all the incompetent ui issues, car bugs, map mistakes and general performance issues with this expansion that i had to create a damn google document that lists so many nitpicky bugs, which has already been forwarded to the devs multiple times with seemingly nothing done yet. i would have loved for the playerbase to stop sinking their wallets into it and actually push for a better presentation than what we have right now, as we seemingly only get listened to when parts of the gameplay is broken (example the steering physics on controller currently), and not when the rest of the game is buggy and in need much needed attention. we were promised features, and they seemingly just ended up getting removed since they were so rushed.

I have left this game a few months ago now (i was almost an f2p player, (i have maybe spend 300-400 Rs on this games from my Google play account so not exactly f2p) I had 80+ cars, my favourite being maxed chiron and almost maxed senna. After spending this much time on this game, its sad to see its downfall which is similar to what happened in A8. I remember before vivendi overtook GL in somewhat 2015-2019, every new update/feature in A8 was so much exciting. It also had good ratio of grind to reward. I remember those days of showdown mp, assembly cup, r&d thing and a lot more. Also i remember you once getting Bugatti lvn for free and then once again agera rs for free through a competition in A8. A8 was so good back then and when A9 was released, by looking at the graphics and gameplay it had potential to take the legacy of A8 to the next generation but sadly greedy vivendi started to ruin everything by monetization and then bad policies. The moment they made token a P2W currency, the downfall of asphalt started. I would love if this game became good again but at this point it is sasly very unlikely 😓
The problem with Unite is that, they're basically extremely money minded these days... So now they're favouring players who've built a strong garage over the years, but it won't be surprising if they favour players who've spent and invested a lot of money into Asphalt Legends Unite. That, and the fact that progression for new players is almost extremely difficult (the TLE cars have had their changes to the required cars, and most of them are even harder to unlock as a beginner) is the final nail in the coffin for those who're starting ALU newly... For slightly older players like me though, Unite is kinda good for now. Just within 2 3 months of Unite's launch, I managed to add about 25 to 30 cars in my garage, thanks to the events and whatnot, so yeah, Unite seems to be good for slightly experienced players like me, who've unlocked the basic cars required to unlock other better cars in the game...
I started playing this when it got added to ps5 never touched it beforein my life, and have 60+ cars. So I'm guessing not bad for a newbie/beginner. Pretty good game tbf
Looking back at my time in A9, there was no special treatments for new players to get the base career cars and no auto-claim. I had to sit down and play the events. Was it something newer players wanted to do? No. I was also not good at saving up my currencies, because I was young and didn’t followed the future updates worldwide had. Now I had began to play smartly about 2021, I still have some safety protocols to help me get out of a financial situation in the game. MP was also a bit difficult for me, since I didn’t had the best of the best. Now with MP2 featuring all cars to compete, it’s more exciting for me, but if MP3 is still available, I would like to drive the new cars to test them out and decide if it’s worth grinding the SE, since I’m not a content creator and can’t jump into the test drive event. One last thing I want Gameloft to do, if there’s time is to rerank certain cars to the appropriate performance, rebalance the blueprints to unlock and star them up, and remove some key walls. They can even give a compensation for those cars with credits, tokens, and trade tokens. The garage rep on those can also be beefed up a bit to maybe help get the next garage level. I believe if I played the China version, it would of been better and more exciting for me. Yes, better graphics is good, but sometimes looks can’t keep your interests holding on for a period of time.
I wonder why no one has pointed out how team pursuit rules have changed and players intentionally crash their cars to not get caught developers ruined the team pursuit
As a 2020 player who played this Asphalt 9 (Currently Unite) was really enjoyable. Really fun to play and was recommended. But nowadays. This game is hardly or not recommended because of league mixing. Vanda and Huracan drivers and so on. (Other reasons that I cannot describe as well) Good video.
This pathetic ALU survives only because there is no competitor against it. The day a worthy competitor enters the market, this game will be a desert and finally, a part of history

I played asphalt 9 and made a good base but after leaving it for one year I came back to see that the new asphalt 9 is asphalt legends unite and it broke me, I couldn't grind because of limitations plus with the minimal amount of cars I had unlocked. Now I quit playing asphalt legends unite.

God I miss the old A9 multiplayer. Being able to actually use your cars by rank instead of by league tier made things so much easier. They don't even tell you what the season has, making things even worse. It annoys me that Gameloft could take this game to new heights and they just don't seem to care, so long as money is still coming in, that is.
By exploiting the Pursuit season glitch (which I don't like to mention often), I finally managed to max the Pininfarina H2, which is great in my opinion. Going to try and max the Superelletra next. Also, the new Temerario event is super beginner friendly: usually the next stage is unlocked after completing around 15-20 goals on the previous stage. In the current event, you only need around 6-7 goals completed. This is a significant improvement in comparison to the previous events. For example, I only have the maxed Asterion and a 1 star Temerario, but I have already reached the Reventon stage. Great video by the way ❤
The Temerario event is the way it is because it's a marketing stunt. Temerario appeared in more games and in all of them was free to obtain, don't expect the upcoming events to be this merciful because I guarantee you they won't be like this
About the unranked multiplayer, you CAN find ways to work around the garbage matchmaking by using begginer cars (My biggest finds were the Camaro 50th Edition and 370Z) where you are usually in the top half in rating, so for begginers, it's honestly not bad.

honestly, the graphics were the main reason i quit the game. before, the graphics were like one of the best you could get it on any smartphone. but after the update, even the best quality mode was having so much rough edges, with fps even dipping to 40 too (max 60), with so much downgrade even to graphics too if compared to before and after the update. and the medium settings were more worse with same issues as with best settings. so i thought it was the best time to quit the 5 years of enjoyment while only remembering the good memories.
In my personal opinion, I feel that the game is fine, let me explain, I have played asphalt pur for a while, I could say that I am a beginner because my account was abandoned due to device limitations, and now that I have the possibility to play I can say that the pay2win they say is not necessarily the problem, because I say this, After returning to the game with patience and dedication I was able to have an acceptable garage and I haven't done any recharge in the game, I haven't bought packs, car packs, the only thing I bought was a season pass to unlock the Ford mustang RTR on a whim, but the rest of the cars I have unlocked legally saving tokens or with the legend store, the only problem with the MP1 is that for the new ones the packs that give when moving up the league supported too much, maybe they are the basic cars but over time they made a small snowball where over time they got more cars that supported them to move up the league as it was in my case, it is true that the faster you have the better car the more it will win but it is not necessarily so, I feel that the pay2win in this game does not affect it as much as other games, an example of this is War Robots a game in which if you do not have a card you do not win, this is just my opinion, if you agree with what I say just enjoy the game, that is the reward, progress, not everything necessarily has to be fast, where was that feeling of achievement that with time and by setting goals in the game you progressed quickly and became better
I'm a F2P player, and I've been playing ALU since it was A9L, I lost an account, started over with better progression over a span of 2 years, I had ~19 cars in my old account over a span of 3 months, I have 25 cars in my new account
I am very glad that i started with A9 legends 2 years ago. I have 6 stars speedtail , so you know my current progression. But now i am looking at MP thats what all i wanted to play , its so boaring in terms of rerwards, no matter you spend money or not you will not be pleased by anyhow or these videos will not be here on the internet if the money was only the option. I left grinding when A9U came out , i feel very stress free now cause i know which direction the game is going . I login Daily , collect Credits and do 5 races and leave the game .. No point wasting any SP Event or anything, cause ultimately Multiplayer was what i was staying for and not now. My target was Getting speed tail to 6 star by grinding and i got that , thats was my end goal.I spent good times on A9 , but now its a joke.
I felt really disappointed when the AL Unite has removed the multiplayer where you can test drive the newly released cars. It was so fun in A9 Legends. But now I only play the season series multiplayer (it's been 2 years, somewhat a pro player and I've about 86 cars unlocked while being fully F2P) with my Speedtail and Trion mainly as my favorites. I could try the world series multiplayer, but I have a feeling that I don't have enough powerful cars to beat, considering the weird matchmaking system. Truly I miss the Limited time new cars multiplayer system. Wish it comes back...
I have been playing A9 for over two years. Mainly F2P, with the occasional in-app purchase. Given the prices and the drop rates, I don't feel it is worthwhile to spend heavily in the game. I only play the three multiplayer races required for the daily goal. The grind in this new MP format is not worth the effort in my opinion. The Career mode is completely broken and not at all friendly to F2P players. With Unite, they should have adjusted it so that all the cars required for the main seasons can be unlocked and starred to the required level by playing through the previous missions. Also, the Showroom seems like an insult, given the drop rates and the grind required.

As a person that started playign this game about 10 days ago im pretty frustrated about the multiplayer matchmaking situation. Not entirely because of the whole "certain car rank equals to certain multiplayer rank"(which is fucking bs in itself too obviously) but the fact that i can get matched with a 3k car player when im a 1k car and have literally no chance of winning. Its not skill based at all, its straight up p2w or in the case of newcomer vs veteran simply unfair. The best thing about this game for me is grinding top % in events, if only i wouldnt have only 5 chances every 100 minutes. Also its frustrating coming from CS2(which is my favorite game) where the devs literally dont care about the game to this(which genuinely feels like it would be one of my favorite games if not for the monetary practices) where the developers also dont care and/or are greedy af, cant fucking catch a break
In MP1 there isn't any rank matchmaking, only tier matchmaking, so if you own a 1000 rank points car and someone in that tier has that car maxed out and it's at 2000 points, both of you will get matched regardless of the difference
Also, it makes less sense to invest in cars nowdays because GL might take out a car you've invested in out of the league season. Right now, for example, I cannot play in Legend League bc the only good S class car I have is the Ultima. Also, screwing car stats to make the useful only when they're high star or MAXED doesn't help.

The only fun thing about Mp was when they used to give the chance to drive the upcoming cars in the old mp system, i really didint care about the rewards that that time, i was Atleast having fun but now its boring as hell...
I started playing just a little before asphalt unite was realesed on switch, I have 130 hours in the game and 38 cars, and in next class a cup il get Ferrari J50, I don’t like playing multiplayer a lot because all of the Ls I take, but atleast I managed to unlock Gineta and Praga R1 from multiplayer

Tactic for casual multiplayer (for beginners and intermediate players): you need a gold Chevrolet Camaro, Volkswagen XL Sport and DS-E Automobile. They have huge potential in multiplayer, blueprints are easy to get, and with the first two cars you can improve your driving and nitro management skills. Btw you can use other combinations of D class cars that you like, but not Lancer and BMW, they are very bad in themselves
Started as a new player, loved the gameplay but I HATE THE GRIND. I play grindy MMOs so I'm used to spending days on end for powerful gear. Asphalt Legends Unite is painful to unlock cars in. It takes forever to unlock any car that's not included in the campaign and even then, you need to get tons of blueprint copies to make the cars you do get viable which takes arguably longer than unlocking new cars. Car unlocks being locked behind time gated events and shop rotations is dumb and practically screams at you to just buy the car with real money. Either directly or via card packs where you have to gamble for individual blueprints that eventually give the car once you have 20 to 40 of them on average. This grind makes new players inferior to veterans and whales who purchased all the best cars and it makes something as basic as story-mode progression take weeks on end. It's been like 2 months since I downloaded the game and I'm still at chapter 3 of the campaign cause I can't stay motivated and none of my cars are high enough star levels to get them a high enough performance rating to compete. If I'm weak, please tell me. If this is a valid opinion and others relate to this, good to know I'm not alone on this. P.S. I know it's a gacha game with gambling involved for vehicle unlocks but this feels infinitely worse than any gacha game I've ever played. I still don't have an S class car yet and the only A class I have is the free Ferrari SF90 from a daily log in event.
This game is now 3 months old now since the release of this massive game. Man Gameloft needs some improvements, good rewards, fair mp rank match, not shitty p2w stuffs
Well, I don’t really like the new multiplayer system either, but I have to adapt to it. Progressing here is not as bad as it seems to me. I’m doing pretty great, actually. I’m at level 16 of garage and level 50 of reputation. I’m doing pretty well actually, :D. Although in career mode I’m stuck, I’m enjoying the game.
Although I don't disagree, I want to nuance this a bit. It's true if MP is your main aim for the game, it will take serious time to build a good garage. Now to begin MP is only one source for cars, but still only a limited number (M4 GTS, Prage R1, G60, Sarthe, DBS Superleggera, Aventador J, Aperta, Concept S and Venom F5). Apart from the lower end cars it will take quite a while to unlock these cars from MP (especially Concept S and Venom F5). I think much more important are daily & seasonal events (esp. car hunts, starway and showroom if you don't mind the grind) and to some degree Career. The problem is of course that MP is just not very suitable for beginners. If that's most important part of the game (which I guess will be for many players) you'll be very disappointed. You need to spend at least several months to build a somewhat decent garage. It easily takes a year to get a decent garage. You can speed up things with spending, but still then you need to grind A LOT. So imo the logical order of this game would be to do the daily events, Career (where you will get stuck over and over 🤣🤣) and SE's as far as you can (Which is not very far). Car hunts can be very profitable, but you need to be able to grind several hours a day. Showroom is even worse of a grind. Starways are nice, but also not aimed at beginners... In the meantime you just try to get as far as you can in MP (and MP2 is more beginner friendly due to car rank matching). Which is also not very far... At some point (9-12m) your garage starts to get better and MP starts to be more fun... But that IS a long time if all you want to do is MP....
i dont like how we still dont got cross saves between the console versions of the games cause man trying to progress in this game is tough, its pretty much became more of a patience to be able to get most of the cars in here, also having improvements to the daily events locked behind a paywall is something i kinda dont like tbh

well for a comparison i have 62 cars altogether in alu and I am stuck in gold league for a significant amount of time so imagine you have 2 or 3 cars and you are playing mp1 you might rage outta your anger
I use my 3900+ Chevrolet grand sport and 4000+ Lamborghini Huracan Evo in MP1, but still I find it difficult to progress, because mostly I get knocked down by the crazy aggressive players using similar or higher rank cars.
my garage is just at L14. The best car I have is 3400 and I have plenty of 3000-3100 cars. Now Im stuck in multiplayer races. Even if I use my best car, i keep being matched with 3700-4000 cars. Even if i ran a perfect race if none of these guys crash I end up last.

Sadly Asphalt on PS5 only got available after the Unite update. I mean I'm F2P and already in singleplayer chapter 4 after almost 2 months, but there a lot of events where I can't participate because of missing cars locked behind paywalls or events in the past. Right now the only thing carrying me through multiplayer is my Porsche Mission R I got in Drive Syndicate when I started. It's 4 star maxed and at about 3100 points, but my opponents are byond 4k in platinum league
As soon as i watched this video i played it last 10 minutes ago, and instantly all my stuff was refilled including the 6 hour gas cars and free car packs
i'm exactly at this point of the game. maxed out the DS, feels great to drive an beat some waaay higher level cars, but the reward is basically nothing. Too far from better cars, carreer mode is bad and stucks, MP is a complete mess up. I'm amost dumping this game at the "another Pay-to-win, coin-chasing game" trash can. Such a pitty, it has so much potential.
Ok so the idea of new multiplayer system is not bad but I can see ppl facing problems. So it is better to add a regular mp3 where the matches will be created just like old a9 mp. And a mp4 for the seasonal mp. That might solve the problem ig

What do you mean there's not much to do except for multiplayer? They spit out so many events all the time i don't even touch multiplayer most of the time. Just the showroom alone is time consuming.
It's kind of sad in all honesty, but I'm glad I started my progress in 2022 as I now got 80 cars. I really feel bad for the novices, at least this video may call a bigger message.
I started in Dec 2023 and have 110 cars today. This is if you play casual. After this your progress somehow becomes slower progressively, because more points are required to access and unlock higher cars.
My main problem is the physics because on mobile most stuff aren't rendered in properly to size like trying to wall ride then my car goes over the rail? Wrecking on completely nothing! Doing a large scale barrel roll and getting respawned bc i go slightly out of bounds wouldn't even werck if i could start decending to stick the landing! The removal of most of the cars in MP was sickening i play events and not having fun because i don't enjoy solo play very much! But generally its the physics for me on mobile doesn't make any sense!

I used to play AL9 until 3-4 years ago, and then uninstalled it, because even after putting in some serious money, there's hardly a guarantee that you will have a complete car. So in hatred of their greediness, I left the game. When this Unite version launched and I re-installed the game after so long, I realised they have become even more greedy now. With all these different kinds of game passes, unite bank and other money grabbing stuff. Considering they probably already make a lot of money through ads offered as bait to players. Literally there's no end to the greed of Gameloft! I totally understand when you say that this could have been the best racing game ever but will never be. GREED is the reason. Instead of working on game physics, AI behaviour, track design...they focus on how to grab more money.
You know, I only played ALU on My Bro's Acc if I would need to. But since I'm about to get a new Phone very soon, I'm trying to discover the beginning of the game. As I have learned from this Video, Yes yes I know the game cannot be well making my progression better than previously but as long as I have make my own ways, I can possibly give a try to perform bit better at the end of the day It's bit disappointing for the fact that MP System goes insanely horrible, but the least i couldn't give a try aside from MP2 where I can use cars that based for it's rank. The more I play, I'm slowly getting an improvement for a bit Overall an, Accurate Information. Despite this game being a Sucker of Money, but this is the only game I can really enjoy ever since Asphalt 9 at 2020. Yo guys, it's so just happened that I live in Barcelona in the moment, and I have lost my job recently as a game developer specializing in Unity, which is the game engine that Gameloft uses AFAIK. If you were an imposter developer in the Asphalt office, what would you do to influence the game for better? ;) For me, it's a change of resolution of that "arrow" sign in the intro of one of the maps. It's looking terrible on high-resolution screen 😅
the MP1 system just so flawed. needing to have a variety of cars does not help, even the free try cars you will be given are not even viable enough, a good solution tho. better to have the free try cars to be at least 60-70% of its maximum potential(4* out of 6* or 3* out of 5*). Also about being able to get all the cars in the game, its just a normal FOMO tactic used by most games to get player retention. But in summary, if i started playing the game today, i would not like it.
The same goes for asphalt 8 there's not a single car in asphalt 8 that cost credits now it's just fusion coins the multiplayer match making system is broken the ui is horrible 😢
This game is sadly turning out like destiny 2. Its too hard to get into the game and veteran players leave the game because they either get bored or pissed at the decisions the devs make. And there are no new players to keep steady player numbers
Personally to me I include also include aggressive monetary tactics because that’s you can tell their integrity or lack thereof. I Will still call it Asphalt 9 regardless but with included it’s new name. not just that but AiDS in Tickets, Gas system even BP for certain cars is what let this game also make this game look down upon Personally the pessimistic viewpoint your saying is actually being realistic as well given that’s what F1 Mobile Racing has suffered But for me I have little hope given this game F2P mattered a small bit to them unlike NFS No Limits who has none regardless what their community say I just do not believe they mattered for the F2P community
I play on PlayStation and I love this game. Have spent lots of money during this short period of time since it launched on PlayStation. Very disappointing because we don’t have the cars needed to progress on carrier mode to unlock more cars so we can compete in the multiplayer mode. Very frustrating we have to race against cars more than 1000 above our level and get taken down from behind every single race. We can’t complete events because we don’t have required cars. Very frustrating. Might have to give up on this beautiful game 😅

A8 was the best until the dreaded 202X updates came, A9 too, but the microtransactionz were too much, this one is ALU is just the combination of those with crossplay.
It only keeps getting worse every update, what’s the point of playing either of those w MPs when won race gives +1/5 points tho if you come in third or later, that’s a guaranteed -10. On top of that even saving tokens isn’t helping since best cars are locked behind a DS paywall like they did to venom or bolide…

Tbh i dont agree at all. First of all Multiplayer rn imo is not the best mode to play with the stupid rank system. Scond of all there are TONS and TONS of ways to progress in ALU. With the new garage expansion Leveling up is now way easier to do. More newcomers can come to clash and get way more cars. Legend store update speaks for itself and TLEs give tokens and blueprints of some cars. Main way to get cars are via car hunts and special hunts. You can try to compete in a gp for a car (even if its not good at least you have a car that u can try to upgrade later if u see good packs in the store) and if u save enough tokens each year you can dump all your tokens on a BoS or a special event wich is really really worth it. Sure, you wouldnt progress like a whale but something is something. With all of theese methods you can get an average of 20 to 30 cars per year without sorting the good and bad ones.
Well, I agree with CarsOn about the mp tho, he's correct there, the unfair match making still goes on despite them saying it's rank based. Other than that, yea, many token rewards, and I won't say about GL expansion because it will take you more Garage points and time to reach that much GL to get those cars, except it somehow speeds up your progress by some % though.

In other games you can get higher S class cars in a few months. Not every new player is ready to grind in this game. They will just leave and badmouth it

I have started playing this game since 14 days and at first 7 days I was progressing vey fast but now I am stuck in the career mode and also in multiplayer what should I do. I unlocked the mclaren p1 and centenario by watching some ads but i can't even use them in multiplayer and career mode. I can only use it in weekly series in which the opponents are having cars such as Koenigseggs and Bugattis.
Try to play daily events until you eventually get the chance to unlock some better cars, because other than that ... there's not too much to do for you, I fear :(

Yeah I hardly play MP1 anymore, and when I do I run out of cars to use very quickly because of the extremely limited selection (especially for class S, which makes it hard to climb the Leaderboard in LL). And I stopped playing MP2 altogether because of the broken ratings system. Gameloft made a big mistake removing the free try MP seasons because at least they kept MP interesting, being able to try new/rare cars all the time. Plus the rewards are garbage compared to what they used to be even 1 or 2 years ago. I log in once or twice a day to play events and that's it. Even the clash hasn't developed beyond what it was when it was first launched. Honestly I think cross-platform is the only thing keeping this game alive, and we'll see how long that lasts.

much like you, i strive for this game/expansion to succeed instead of being a glorified "mobile game" with it's crappy dynamic lighting. i've gotten so fed up with all the incompetent ui issues, car bugs, map mistakes and general performance issues with this expansion that i had to create a damn google document that lists so many nitpicky bugs, which has already been forwarded to the devs multiple times with seemingly nothing done yet. i would have loved for the playerbase to stop sinking their wallets into it and actually push for a better presentation than what we have right now, as we seemingly only get listened to when parts of the gameplay is broken (example the steering physics on controller currently), and not when the rest of the game is buggy and in need much needed attention. we were promised features, and they seemingly just ended up getting removed since they were so rushed.

I have left this game a few months ago now (i was almost an f2p player, (i have maybe spend 300-400 Rs on this games from my Google play account so not exactly f2p)
I had 80+ cars, my favourite being maxed chiron and almost maxed senna. After spending this much time on this game, its sad to see its downfall which is similar to what happened in A8.
I remember before vivendi overtook GL in somewhat 2015-2019, every new update/feature in A8 was so much exciting. It also had good ratio of grind to reward. I remember those days of showdown mp, assembly cup, r&d thing and a lot more. Also i remember you once getting Bugatti lvn for free and then once again agera rs for free through a competition in A8. A8 was so good back then and when A9 was released, by looking at the graphics and gameplay it had potential to take the legacy of A8 to the next generation but sadly greedy vivendi started to ruin everything by monetization and then bad policies. The moment they made token a P2W currency, the downfall of asphalt started. I would love if this game became good again but at this point it is sasly very unlikely 😓
The problem with Unite is that, they're basically extremely money minded these days... So now they're favouring players who've built a strong garage over the years, but it won't be surprising if they favour players who've spent and invested a lot of money into Asphalt Legends Unite.
That, and the fact that progression for new players is almost extremely difficult (the TLE cars have had their changes to the required cars, and most of them are even harder to unlock as a beginner) is the final nail in the coffin for those who're starting ALU newly...
For slightly older players like me though, Unite is kinda good for now. Just within 2 3 months of Unite's launch, I managed to add about 25 to 30 cars in my garage, thanks to the events and whatnot, so yeah, Unite seems to be good for slightly experienced players like me, who've unlocked the basic cars required to unlock other better cars in the game...

I started playing this when it got added to ps5 never touched it beforein my life, and have 60+ cars. So I'm guessing not bad for a newbie/beginner. Pretty good game tbf
Looking back at my time in A9, there was no special treatments for new players to get the base career cars and no auto-claim. I had to sit down and play the events. Was it something newer players wanted to do? No. I was also not good at saving up my currencies, because I was young and didn’t followed the future updates worldwide had. Now I had began to play smartly about 2021, I still have some safety protocols to help me get out of a financial situation in the game. MP was also a bit difficult for me, since I didn’t had the best of the best. Now with MP2 featuring all cars to compete, it’s more exciting for me, but if MP3 is still available, I would like to drive the new cars to test them out and decide if it’s worth grinding the SE, since I’m not a content creator and can’t jump into the test drive event. One last thing I want Gameloft to do, if there’s time is to rerank certain cars to the appropriate performance, rebalance the blueprints to unlock and star them up, and remove some key walls. They can even give a compensation for those cars with credits, tokens, and trade tokens. The garage rep on those can also be beefed up a bit to maybe help get the next garage level. I believe if I played the China version, it would of been better and more exciting for me. Yes, better graphics is good, but sometimes looks can’t keep your interests holding on for a period of time.
I wish GL would care about the community more. "Because without the community, where's the game?"

As a 2020 player who played this Asphalt 9 (Currently Unite) was really enjoyable. Really fun to play and was recommended. But nowadays. This game is hardly or not recommended because of league mixing. Vanda and Huracan drivers and so on. (Other reasons that I cannot describe as well)

I played asphalt 9 and made a good base but after leaving it for one year I came back to see that the new asphalt 9 is asphalt legends unite and it broke me, I couldn't grind because of limitations plus with the minimal amount of cars I had unlocked. God I miss the old A9 multiplayer. Being able to actually use your cars by rank instead of by league tier made things so much easier. They don't even tell you what the season has, making things even worse.
It annoys me that Gameloft could take this game to new heights and they just don't seem to care, so long as money is still coming in, that is.

By exploiting the Pursuit season glitch (which I don't like to mention often), I finally managed to max the Pininfarina H2, which is great in my opinion. Going to try and max the Superelletra next.
Also, the new Temerario event is super beginner friendly: usually the next stage is unlocked after completing around 15-20 goals on the previous stage. In the current event, you only need around 6-7 goals completed. This is a significant improvement in comparison to the previous events. For example, I only have the maxed Asterion and a 1 star Temerario, but I have already reached the Reventon stage.

The Temerario event is the way it is because it's a marketing stunt. Temerario appeared in more games and in all of them was free to obtain, don't expect the upcoming events to be this merciful because I guarantee you they won't be like this

About the unranked multiplayer, you CAN find ways to work around the garbage matchmaking by using begginer cars (My biggest finds were the Camaro 50th Edition and 370Z) where you are usually in the top half in rating, so for begginers, it's honestly not bad.

It wouldn't be no surprise to me that most beginners quit weeks after downloading it for the first time
honestly, the graphics were the main reason i quit the game. before, the graphics were like one of the best you could get it on any smartphone. but after the update, even the best quality mode was having so much rough edges, with fps even dipping to 40 too (max 60), with so much downgrade even to graphics too if compared to before and after the update. and the medium settings were more worse with same issues as with best settings. so i thought it was the best time to quit the 5 years of enjoyment while only remembering the good memories.
In my personal opinion, I feel that the game is fine, let me explain, I have played asphalt pur for a while, I could say that I am a beginner because my account was abandoned due to device limitations, and now that I have the possibility to play I can say that the pay2win they say is not necessarily the problem, because I say this, After returning to the game with patience and dedication I was able to have an acceptable garage and I haven't done any recharge in the game, I haven't bought packs, car packs, the only thing I bought was a season pass to unlock the Ford mustang RTR on a whim, but the rest of the cars I have unlocked legally saving tokens or with the legend store, the only problem with the MP1 is that for the new ones the packs that give when moving up the league supported too much, maybe they are the basic cars but over time they made a small snowball where over time they got more cars that supported them to move up the league as it was in my case, it is true that the faster you have the better car the more it will win but it is not necessarily so, I feel that the pay2win in this game does not affect it as much as other games, an example of this is War Robots a game in which if you do not have a card you do not win, this is just my opinion, if you agree with what I say just enjoy the game, that is the reward, progress, not everything necessarily has to be fast, where was that feeling of achievement that with time and by setting goals in the game you progressed quickly and became better

I am very glad that i started with A9 legends 2 years ago. I have 6 stars speedtail , so you know my current progression. But now i am looking at MP thats what all i wanted to play , its so boaring in terms of rerwards, no matter you spend money or not you will not be pleased by anyhow or these videos will not be here on the internet if the money was only the option. I left grinding when A9U came out , i feel very stress free now cause i know which direction the game is going . I login Daily , collect Credits and do 5 races and leave the game .. No point wasting any SP Event or anything, cause ultimately Multiplayer was what i was staying for and not now. My target was Getting speed tail to 6 star by grinding and i got that , thats was my end goal.I spent good times on A9 , but now its a joke.
Speedtail at 6* is nice tho, with the epics you can get from legends store now you can gold it and make it even better

I felt really disappointed when the AL Unite has removed the multiplayer where you can test drive the newly released cars. It was so fun in A9 Legends. But now I only play the season series multiplayer (it's been 2 years, somewhat a pro player and I've about 86 cars unlocked while being fully F2P) with my Speedtail and Trion mainly as my favorites.
I could try the world series multiplayer, but I have a feeling that I don't have enough powerful cars to beat, considering the weird matchmaking system. Truly I miss the Limited time new cars multiplayer system. Wish it comes back...

I have been playing A9 for over two years. Mainly F2P, with the occasional in-app purchase. Given the prices and the drop rates, I don't feel it is worthwhile to spend heavily in the game.
I only play the three multiplayer races required for the daily goal. The grind in this new MP format is not worth the effort in my opinion.
The Career mode is completely broken and not at all friendly to F2P players. With Unite, they should have adjusted it so that all the cars required for the main seasons can be unlocked and starred to the required level by playing through the previous missions. Also, the Showroom seems like an insult, given the drop rates and the grind required.
You stop being f2p the moment you make a purchase with real money btw 👍🏻

As a person that started playign this game about 10 days ago im pretty frustrated about the multiplayer matchmaking situation. Not entirely because of the whole "certain car rank equals to certain multiplayer rank"(which is fucking bs in itself too obviously) but the fact that i can get matched with a 3k car player when im a 1k car and have literally no chance of winning. Its not skill based at all, its straight up p2w or in the case of newcomer vs veteran simply unfair.
The best thing about this game for me is grinding top % in events, if only i wouldnt have only 5 chances every 100 minutes.
Also its frustrating coming from CS2(which is my favorite game) where the devs literally dont care about the game to this(which genuinely feels like it would be one of my favorite games if not for the monetary practices) where the developers also dont care and/or are greedy af, cant fucking catch a break
In MP1 there isn't any rank matchmaking, only tier matchmaking, so if you own a 1000 rank points car and someone in that tier has that car maxed out and it's at 2000 points, both of you will get matched regardless of the difference

Also, it makes less sense to invest in cars nowdays because GL might take out a car you've invested in out of the league season. Tactic for casual multiplayer (for beginners and intermediate players): you need a gold Chevrolet Camaro, Volkswagen XL Sport and DS-E Automobile. They have huge potential in multiplayer, blueprints are easy to get, and with the first two cars you can improve your driving and nitro management skills. Btw you can use other combinations of D class cars that you like, but not Lancer and BMW, they are very bad in themselves

As a beginner when i was, asphalt is a strategy game and i started very well
Started as a new player, loved the gameplay but I HATE THE GRIND. I play grindy MMOs so I'm used to spending days on end for powerful gear. Asphalt Legends Unite is painful to unlock cars in. It takes forever to unlock any car that's not included in the campaign and even then, you need to get tons of blueprint copies to make the cars you do get viable which takes arguably longer than unlocking new cars. Car unlocks being locked behind time gated events and shop rotations is dumb and practically screams at you to just buy the car with real money. Either directly or via card packs where you have to gamble for individual blueprints that eventually give the car once you have 20 to 40 of them on average. This grind makes new players inferior to veterans and whales who purchased all the best cars and it makes something as basic as story-mode progression take weeks on end. It's been like 2 months since I downloaded the game and I'm still at chapter 3 of the campaign cause I can't stay motivated and none of my cars are high enough star levels to get them a high enough performance rating to compete. If I'm weak, please tell me. If this is a valid opinion and others relate to this, good to know I'm not alone on this.
P.S. I know it's a gacha game with gambling involved for vehicle unlocks but this feels infinitely worse than any gacha game I've ever played. I still don't have an S class car yet and the only A class I have is the free Ferrari SF90 from a daily log in event.

Well, I don’t really like the new multiplayer system either, but I have to adapt to it. Progressing here is not as bad as it seems to me. I’m doing pretty great, actually. I’m at level 16 of garage and level 50 of reputation. I’m doing pretty well actually, :D. Although in career mode I’m stuck, I’m enjoying the game.
Although I don't disagree, I want to nuance this a bit. It's true if MP is your main aim for the game, it will take serious time to build a good garage.
Now to begin MP is only one source for cars, but still only a limited number (M4 GTS, Prage R1, G60, Sarthe, DBS Superleggera, Aventador J, Aperta, Concept S and Venom F5). Apart from the lower end cars it will take quite a while to unlock these cars from MP (especially Concept S and Venom F5). I think much more important are daily & seasonal events (esp. car hunts, starway and showroom if you don't mind the grind) and to some degree Career.
The problem is of course that MP is just not very suitable for beginners. If that's most important part of the game (which I guess will be for many players) you'll be very disappointed. You need to spend at least several months to build a somewhat decent garage. It easily takes a year to get a decent garage. You can speed up things with spending, but still then you need to grind A LOT.
So imo the logical order of this game would be to do the daily events, Career (where you will get stuck over and over 🤣🤣) and SE's as far as you can (Which is not very far). Car hunts can be very profitable, but you need to be able to grind several hours a day. Showroom is even worse of a grind. Starways are nice, but also not aimed at beginners... In the meantime you just try to get as far as you can in MP (and MP2 is more beginner friendly due to car rank matching). Which is also not very far... At some point (9-12m) your garage starts to get better and MP starts to be more fun... But that IS a long time if all you want to do is MP....
i dont like how we still dont got cross saves between the console versions of the games cause man trying to progress in this game is tough, its pretty much became more of a patience to be able to get most of the cars in here, also having improvements to the daily events locked behind a paywall is something i kinda dont like tbh
There can't be crossave because of Nintendo and Sony, the infrastructure exists but those platforms have different policies regarding that
They have introduce car pool to multiplayer in a9 before noone like this and they make it permanent in alu, don't know what they think

well for a comparison i have 62 cars altogether in alu and I am stuck in gold league for a significant amount of time so imagine you have 2 or 3 cars and you are playing mp1 you might rage outta your anger

I use my 3900+ Chevrolet grand sport and 4000+ Lamborghini Huracan Evo in MP1, but still I find it difficult to progress, because mostly I get knocked down by the crazy aggressive players using similar or higher rank cars.
my garage is just at L14. The best car I have is 3400 and I have plenty of 3000-3100 cars. Now Im stuck in multiplayer races. Even if I use my best car, i keep being matched with 3700-4000 cars. Even if i ran a perfect race if none of these guys crash I end up last.

Sadly Asphalt on PS5 only got available after the Unite update. I mean I'm F2P and already in singleplayer chapter 4 after almost 2 months, but there a lot of events where I can't participate because of missing cars locked behind paywalls or events in the past. Right now the only thing carrying me through multiplayer is my Porsche Mission R I got in Drive Syndicate when I started. It's 4 star maxed and at about 3100 points, but my opponents are byond 4k in platinum league

i'm exactly at this point of the game. maxed out the DS, feels great to drive an beat some waaay higher level cars, but the reward is basically nothing. Too far from better cars, carreer mode is bad and stucks, MP is a complete mess up. I'm amost dumping this game at the "another Pay-to-win, coin-chasing game" trash can. Such a pitty, it has so much potential.

Ok so the idea of new multiplayer system is not bad but I can see ppl facing problems. So it is better to add a regular mp3 where the matches will be created just like old a9 mp. And a mp4 for the seasonal mp. That might solve the problem ig

I started 2 months ago I have 45 cars so far I have only 1 s class car and I don't know why developers just ruined team pursuit
I started in Dec 2023 and have 110 cars today. This is if you play casual.
After this your progress somehow becomes slower progressively, because more points are required to access and unlock higher cars.

My main problem is the physics because on mobile most stuff aren't rendered in properly to size like trying to wall ride then my car goes over the rail? Wrecking on completely nothing!
Doing a large scale barrel roll and getting respawned bc i go slightly out of bounds wouldn't even werck if i could start decending to stick the landing! The removal of most of the cars in MP was sickening i play events and not having fun because i don't enjoy solo play very much!
But generally its the physics for me on mobile doesn't make any sense!

I used to play AL9 until 3-4 years ago, and then uninstalled it, because even after putting in some serious money, there's hardly a guarantee that you will have a complete car. So in hatred of their greediness, I left the game. When this Unite version launched and I re-installed the game after so long, I realised they have become even more greedy now. With all these different kinds of game passes, unite bank and other money grabbing stuff. Considering they probably already make a lot of money through ads offered as bait to players. Literally there's no end to the greed of Gameloft!
I totally understand when you say that this could have been the best racing game ever but will never be. GREED is the reason. Instead of working on game physics, AI behaviour, track design...they focus on how to grab more money.
You know, I only played ALU on My Bro's Acc if I would need to. But since I'm about to get a new Phone very soon, I'm trying to discover the beginning of the game. As I have learned from this Video, Yes yes I know the game cannot be well making my progression better than previously but as long as I have make my own ways, I can possibly give a try to perform bit better at the end of the day
It's bit disappointing for the fact that MP System goes insanely horrible, but the least i couldn't give a try aside from MP2 where I can use cars that based for it's rank. The more I play, I'm slowly getting an improvement for a bit
Overall an, Accurate Information. Despite this game being a Sucker of Money, but this is the only game I can really enjoy ever since Asphalt 9 at 2020. I really wish the game could've been treated better than we got recently but sadly, It won't be happening...

the MP1 system just so flawed. needing to have a variety of cars does not help, even the free try cars you will be given are not even viable enough, a good solution tho. better to have the free try cars to be at least 60-70% of its maximum potential(4* out of 6* or 3* out of 5*). Also about being able to get all the cars in the game, its just a normal FOMO tactic used by most games to get player retention. But in summary, if i started playing the game today, i would not like it.

This game is sadly turning out like destiny 2. Its too hard to get into the game and veteran players leave the game because they either get bored or pissed at the decisions the devs make. And there are no new players to keep steady player numbers

Personally to me I include also include aggressive monetary tactics because that’s you can tell their integrity or lack thereof. I Will still call it Asphalt 9 regardless but with included it’s new name. not just that but AiDS in Tickets, Gas system even BP for certain cars is what let this game also make this game look down upon

I play on PlayStation and I love this game. Have spent lots of money during this short period of time since it launched on PlayStation. Very disappointing because we don’t have the cars needed to progress on carrier mode to unlock more cars so we can compete in the multiplayer mode. Very frustrating we have to race against cars more than 1000 above our level and get taken down from behind every single race.
We can’t complete events because we don’t have required cars. Very frustrating. Might have to give up on this beautiful game 😅

A8 was the best until the dreaded 202X updates came, A9 too, but the microtransactionz were too much, this one is ALU is just the combination of those with crossplay.
It only keeps getting worse every update, what’s the point of playing either of those w MPs when won race gives +1/5 points tho if you come in third or later, that’s a guaranteed -10. On top of that even saving tokens isn’t helping since best cars are locked behind a DS paywall like they did to venom or bolide…

Tbh i dont agree at all. First of all Multiplayer rn imo is not the best mode to play with the stupid rank system. Scond of all there are TONS and TONS of ways to progress in ALU. With the new garage expansion Leveling up is now way easier to do. More newcomers can come to clash and get way more cars. Legend store update speaks for itself and TLEs give tokens and blueprints of some cars. Main way to get cars are via car hunts and special hunts. You can try to compete in a gp for a car (even if its not good at least you have a car that u can try to upgrade later if u see good packs in the store) and if u save enough tokens each year you can dump all your tokens on a BoS or a special event wich is really really worth it. Sure, you wouldnt progress like a whale but something is something. With all of theese methods you can get an average of 20 to 30 cars per year without sorting the good and bad ones.
Well, I agree with CarsOn about the mp tho, he's correct there, the unfair match making still goes on despite them saying it's rank based. Other than that, yea, many token rewards, and I won't say about GL expansion because it will take you more Garage points and time to reach that much GL to get those cars, except it somehow speeds up your progress by some % though.

In other games you can get higher S class cars in a few months. Not every new player is ready to grind in this game. They will just leave and badmouth it

I have started playing this game since 14 days and at first 7 days I was progressing vey fast but now I am stuck in the career mode and also in multiplayer what should I do. I unlocked the mclaren p1 and centenario by watching some ads but i can't even use them in multiplayer and career mode. I can only use it in weekly series in which the opponents are having cars such as Koenigseggs and Bugattis.
Maybe try some daily quests. You could get some useful cars but it might not take you as far
Try to play daily events until you eventually get the chance to unlock some better cars, because other than that ... there's not too much to do for you, I fear :(
