Kayla's making a real good case for that Olympic team! Congrats to her on her win at today's Winter Cup!
** I do not own this coverage all credit goes to owners **
She did so good! 14.000+ on all events thats so good! i am so happy for her!
She is ON FIRE here! Olympic team ready!
Reminds me of Jordan Chiles in 2021 making a statement at Winter Cup 2021 6 months before Tokyo Olympics. Kayla's upgrades give her a real shot with those 6.0+ SVs.
but then Jordan failed at Tokyo
@alannabrown4 I'm going to disagree with the statement that she failed. Jordan fell on floor exercise, which is an unfortunate mistake. However, she hit bars and beam, despite not being expected to be on those events that day, which shows great mental toughness.
@@coolness06Jordan also fell on bars and beam in quals
This is the best I've ever seen her perform. Such a impressive showing today! Well Done!!
Her personality is very determined. She goes in on Saturdays and she probably always takes a few more turns than whats required. I am so happy for her, revenge Kayla for those senoh bars girl!!
not the senoh bars at the 2021 trials costing Kayla an Olympic spot 😭😭😭
@@Plaspos 🤣🤣its totally what happened, she was awesome on bars at Classic! Which had AAI bars
@@2FLIPS3.5TWISTS I don't think they were going to let her take a set of AAI bars to Tokyo 🤣
She's securing her spot on this team by essentially saying I can be reliable anywhere you need me I'm literally a STRONG all arounder. I think She's on the team which leaves two spots left after Simone and Shilese.
Great performance today! Her credited floor D score is 5.7 today. She did not get the switch 1/1 rounded. But that's a promising floor routine! And her 6.1 bars is a big asset for the US team.
I remember she used to have a double layout on floor n afullin
Fantastic first AA of the year for DiCello! Well deserved gold here. 🙌
She didn’t come to play damn, taking a year off college was the right move for her
It's the only choice. NCAA gymnastics just encourages mediocrity and watered-down routines.
@@khorkina2010 I mean... they have a maximum training time of 20h/week
@@khorkina2010 It actually encourages safety and injury prevention, Karen. The vast majority of women in their late teens and early 20s who are trying to juggle academics and somewhat of a social/personal life should not and cannot do G and H level skills week after week in competition.
If she doesn't make the Team she is definitely a solid Alternate
Yeah she’s coming for blood this season!
Absolutely. I still can't get over how she was not included in the last Olympics.
She should’ve replaced grace grace was horrible
She kind of reminds me of Grace McCallum last Olympic Cycle. A solid All Arounder but she doesn't have one particular strong event.
She can medal on floor with the current field given the absence of Gadirova.
Her floor is pretty dang strong. And her gymnastics is more enjoyable to watch than Grace's IMO!
Her beam score was pretty strong too!
@@arthurfernandes4824 beam was pretty overscored at this event, they were giving out execution scores (8.300+) that only the very cleanest routines got at Worlds last year (Simone, Rebeca, Melanie, Sanne). And Kayla, Skye, and Hezly's routines were not nearly that clean. Not to mention Suni geting 7.9 E-score with a fall.
The floor scores were much closer to international scoring though. Kayla and Kaliya got similar E-scores at Pan Ams last year.
@@Plaspos thanks, I didn't notice the other scores... I agree that internationally it wouldn't score that well. Anyway, she really improved her difficulty and has room for improvement
Verrrrry solid choice for an all arounder on the Olympic team
I’m so glad she finally connected the Church + Pak after so long. I do wonder if it would be easier and less deduction prone for her to just connect the Pak + Van Leeuwen like she used to. Either way though she did so well here
At first I thought she was preparing a Shang + Pak for the 0.2 CV but now with the Hindorff it’s not an option
Pak + Van Leeuwen has less deduction, but it's much more difficult than Church + Pak.
Her beam acro series cleared my acne and watered my crops
I think she’s making a great case to be included in the team as a solid all rounder alongside Shi and Simone to step in on almost any event and deliver a solid score. We’ll just have to see how the other big players are at Classics - this year is going to be insane.
She did very well. I am proud of her. However, can these judges be realistic please, and stop gaslighting these competitors with these unrealistic scores that they know damn well are too high. It's not helping these gymnasts know what they need to improve on.
She competes like this throughout the season, she’s on the Olympic team! Go Kayla!!!
Kayla being Kayla 💯
I love Kayla! Florida is definitely missing her but right here she is on point! Im 😢 So happy for her I really hope she's on the olympic team
She’s looking at Paris right in the eyes! 👀
Incredible so much determination and heart again always been a huge fan of Kayla. She was an alternate so close. Kelli Hill magic plus talent go Kayla
The bar routine was soooo good. Get it girl!
Oh yeah looking great, living for that turning leap on beam
Those were clean routines!
Amazing! So Pretty.
🥰
She should drop the 2.5 beam dismount tho. Double pike is much better
She was always getting a low chest dismount on the double tuck and the double pike would be even lower. 2.5 dismount avoids this but she needs to twist faster on it
@@Plaspos her leg form negates the benefits though. Crossed legs and knee bend. She may as dismount with the double pike still
@@Gymtumbler24 idk I think her leg form on twisting looks a lot better in live time than in replay. I wouldn't be surprised if she's not getting much deductions from it, it's not as obvious as Mustafina or Ponor
@@Plaspos i guess i feel like the extra tenth on the dismount can help her score a bit too. Especially since the 2.5 is hard to stick. If you’re gonna step, may as well step on the double like and start .1 higher
Her double tuck / double pike on beam often looks dangerous and she has low landing.
She did not come to play!!!!! Okay Kayla!!!!
This is the best ❤🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿
Not to compare but this reminds me of when Jordan chiles dominated winter cup in 2021 and later went on to be picked for the Olympic team…
Exactly my first thought. Jordan maintained that high level the whole season. Kayla in the same boat, somebody coming into this year with just a slight chance. She did it right - make a big early statement with upgrades and better SVs. The conversation has now changed and others gotta step up. She has a chance.
Great job!
Right now she looks like she'll be on the Olympic team with SImone, Shilese Jones and Leanne Wong ;-)
Kayla and Leanne will not both be on the Olympic team. Neither is gauaranteed a spot, but Kayla's chances are much higher than Leanne's right now. But they are essentially competing for the same spot on the team (3rd AA + consistent backup), so they won't both be picked.
Supper hard worker and you see the results.
After college gymnastics , her landings re cleaner, especially on bars & floor
Congrats to Kayla. Didn't she wrap up last season with an AA win as well?
Yeah at Pan Am Games
I wish domestic scoring wasn't such a joke. Kayla was on FIRE today, but it's hard to know where she actually is compared to last season's words scores for example.
Her scores won’t hold up internationally based on this performance. That won’t be more than a 14 bars. That wouldn’t be more than a 14 floor either.
Yeah those knees and flexed feet would get hammered!
I’ll say 55 mid-55.8 internationally
She looked amazing. I will say though, no way is she going 14+ internationally on 3/4 of those, based on these performances. But still nonetheless, she looks great.
she’s already gone 14.1 on vault, 13.9 on bars, 13.8 on beam, and 13.7 on floor internationally. That was before her upgrades she put in on UB/BB/FX here. 14+ is definitely possible on UB, and maybe on FX. BB is less likely though
@@Plaspos I meant on her specific routines from today. She caught two releases on bars very close and some other questionable form errors. If she did the same exact performances today in an international meet no way would they have been 14+
She’s one of my picjs for the team!!!!!
Ok, Olympic Trials!!
Agora essa nota da trave é complicado, deviam dar notas mais justas pra ela poder melhorar, esses joelhos dobrados e esses saltos não tão legais n
go Kayla!
Shades of Kupets at 2004 American Classic. Wow.
She was great...the scoring, domestic things
Go Gators!
I'm not discounting her accomplishment, but it DOES seem like most of the people who could have been her competition majorly messed up...
I mean yeah but Kayla’s biggest quality/ the thing that’s keeping her in the conversation is her consistency, which is a major thing that team USA is looking for. We’ll just see if Kayla can keep the momentum up because she’s looking really really good and it’s so early in the season!
I mean honestly, Skye was the only person at the meet who could have realistically beat her. And if you erase Skye's two major errors (fall on bars on Van Leeuwen, messed up her double wolf turn on floor and probably lost credit + big deduction), I still don't think she would have beat Kayla with yesterday's performances, though she would have come pretty close.
Ooooooh waooo very nice 100%100👏👏👏🙏👍👍🙌🙌🙌
That was a solid beam routine though. The tour jete is soooo much better
Slayla DiCello
Did I miss something? I haven’t been keeping up as much.. is she becoming the new Aly Raisman/Maggie Nichols?? I’m here for it! The Raisman drive with the Nichols flair?? I can’t with her. I hope the better she keeps getting the more Maggie-style sass she gets. She should start smirking more for instance and have a more playful floor routine, just my opinion.
she got a better all around score than rebecca andrade in the worlds aa final and that means that she could be the worlds silver medalist
i dont think so. The judges are much less judicious in national competitions. She'd be close to 56, but not that high
lol never compare national vs international scores
@@poufchka1 hahaha that’s true
Olympic score, she would reach 53.400 with this level. Remembering that Rebeca, Shiles, Simone are at higher levels, and will present updates to their routines for the Paris games, scoring 58/59.
Her and Leanne man
Simone still buries her alive.
Impressive, but the wolf turn on floor needs to go. Like her determination.
The wolf turn will stay because of the high value
