Tele-Viper = Cobra AV Club Nice video. When wr played back in the day we always used his scanner as a video camera for Cobra Commander to telecast his demands.
I got about half of my Joe stuff from garage sales and the other from stores. I had a lot of extras. I never purchased a Tele-Viper and never found one at a garage sale.
Thanks for the laugh, I look forward to your reviews every Sunday. I love Tele-Viper because of him being in "Cobra blue", the rolled up sleeves just look cool. I used his tele-vision gun as a directional heat weapon, that fried anything from Destros filed rations, to any Joe who was unlucky. Yes he doesn't stand out and is sort of the nancy boy, of the Viper Corps. Keep on keeping on, man, I needed a good laugh today.
One of the many things I truly like about your reviews, is, you really get into detail. You pointed out the fact that Tele-Viper has rolled sleeves, and that wasn't the Cobra norm. I never gave it any thought. I just saw him as a Viper of a higher status, so he was allowed to roll his sleeves. I would like to see a month dedicated to the various Vipers, especially the Alley Viper and Night Viper.
Thanks for the suggestion of microwave scanner, looked those up and that does seem to be what it looks like. Would be use full for secure clear communication. I had always thought it was a camera
I got a few of these guys for my birthday as a army builder. I always used it as sorta a microwave gun.. And then got older and realized how horrific that would actually be.
I liked Tele-Viper more than you. His appearance grew on me and I found him to be one of those serviceable background characters who could sometimes play a greater role.
hilarious episode. i never knew what his camera/gun thing was before. i used it as a rocket propelled grenade thing. i like this dude slightly more than you do it seems...but all your criticisms are spot on...i have similar views. though i almost spit up my coffee at the zandar comparison....tele-viper >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> zandar
Commenting to cheer you on in whatever you do sir. I picked a random cool review in which to insert my comment from.....The Future! Lol I finally pick one up a while back I like him, he fills an important role in my cobra 🐍 army. Hope your well Bryan. PS remember, only GIJoe is GIJoe.
Nice review as always! Hasbro showed off a modern concept version of the Tele-Viper at JoeCon three to four years ago. I was hoping they were going to release that figure but they did not like so many of the other concept vault figures; Clutch & Rock N Roll here is looking at you. Aghh, frustrating!
Thanks for watching! I haven't seen the modern concept Tele-Viper. I would be interested in seeing if they managed to do anything more interesting with him.
I remember this one was a big deal to get for me and going up to Hollywood Blvd to find one at a now long gone cool old fashioned toy shop! I like the fact Tele-Vipers kept the early Cobra Blue look that was pretty much out the door after the basic Vipers came out in the glorious year of 1986! Interestingly parts of the Tele-Vipers would go on to be used on the first "Frankenstein" parts figure the infamous "Claymore" issued in the Brazil Mission Set for Toys R' Us I only hope you get into reviewing one day. And dont forget to add some samples of the great well voiced audio cassette tape that was included in that set! haha
I will eventually do the Mission Brazil set, but that's going to be a major project. I'm not quite ready to jump into that yet. Of course, I have to review the cassette, too!
I used his accessory as a focused micro wave transmitter that had a setting where it child be "turned up" and set as a weapon type thing. like able to burn things.
Awesome! Tele vipers got their buts kicked by Pythona in GI Joe the movie. Their googles flashed the word "intruder" right before Pythona took one out.
The Sunbow series episode "Captives Of Cobra Part 1" and G.I. Joe The Movie featured the only times' (to my knowledge at least) a Tele Viper spoke on camera. In G.I. Joe The Movie, Chris Latta (voice actor for Cobra Commander, Breaker, Gung Ho and Ripper) provided the voice for the Tele Viper.
Being nine or ten when I got this figure I had no idea what all the fancy communications equipment was for. So I stuck him in the back of the Maggot or occupied the seats of the Terradrome and watch the video screen. When I did finally start reading the comics I assumed his pack and scanner were used as communications devices within Cobra Command.
Can’t explain why but I always liked Tele-Viper. He was on of my favorites that wave; yeah, I even liked him better than the Crimson Guard. As for his weapon, I always used it as a sonic disrupter type thing that disabled or deafened the Joes with sonic waves.
While I don't think he's as awesome as the Crimson Guard, he's definitely better than Hoodie is saying. I think he's underrated, for sure. He poses great.
I used the Tele-Viper weapon as a spy microphone and video camera that was used to record information and then transmit, via the back pack , back to Cobra Commander.
I have been waiting for this review!!:D one of my first figures as a kid. I used his "gun" as a flamethrower altough I kind of understood that it was something else but who wants an action figure with out a weapon? Later in the comic book I saw that it was a weird TV thing as you pointed out. Thanks alot for this review.:)
Thanks for watching! A flame thrower? That's novel. Creative. I'm glad they gave Dial-Tone a weapon. I don't know why Hasbro thought communications officers should be unarmed.
Well as a kid I used it as a gun until my brother told me what it was so I used the gun as a scrambler to somehow scramble enemy communication devices and even some small vehicles too ☺
It’s weird the classified cobra pod is coming with tela-viper it should have come with a cobra officer variant (maybe a black one) I know tela-viper is on the box of the trouble bubble but I always associated the cobra pod with the cobra trooper being it’s main pilot
I thought that gun thing was some kind of long range listening device, so he could hear conversations from far away, making him a R.T.O. and a spy sort of.
Hi @HoodedCobraCommander788! Relatively new to the channel. Really love your work keep it up! Would you mind reviewing the headhunter stormtrooper from the 90s? Its not outlandish and is more of a super urban terrorist.
"The Tele-Viper Corps. We don't care and we don't have to." LOL. That was hilarious! As a kid, I had this figure and I really liked him. I will admit I used his accessory as a massive laser blaster. Though on occasion I would use it as Video recording device. It depended upon if he was alone on the mission or had back-up.
The thing about the tele-Vipers that I always thought was cool was they didn't talk at least they never did in the cartoon the only things they said came out on their facemask.
I remember playing with him as a kid and pretending that his accessory was a wide blasting laser gun. It would shoot thick beams that would cause its target to explode... Much like a grenade launcher. I knew it was meant to be a camera or something like that, but I felt that was stupid for a terrorist unit to have.
The tele-viper looks like the Hoth version of Han Solo. I had the python patrol version, he looked better. I used his weapon as a jammer or microvave gun to fry the joe's equipment or to cook the joe's themselves. imagine lining up 50 tele-vipers and turning on their microwave guns. oh the humanity of watching the joe's heads explode. Your computer's voice sounds like the the one from M.A.S.K. I was waiting for the line-up of personnel to confront V.E.N.O.M.
HoodedCobraCommander788 I saw modern version of this man with MPK 5K4 , suitcase laptop backpack ... But he was to yellow helmet " Python Patrol version " ...
Was one of my favorites
Lol! Nailed it. I actually need more of these behind the scenes subordinates
Tele-Viper = Cobra AV Club
Nice video. When wr played back in the day we always used his scanner as a video camera for Cobra Commander to telecast his demands.
I remember using the device as a long range microphone for listening in on conversations.
That's a nice use for it!
Love the Tele-Viper Corps skit.
So funny!!!A Lilly Tomlin reference and a double entendre...all in one episode!!!!! I love it!!!Great work my friend!
Not sure if I had him when I was younger...still need to pick one up for my collection. Great videos man!
I swear, when you eventually run out of vintage figures to review, I’d still tune in for those G.I.Joe skits. Reminds me of ToyFare Theater.
You just know Tele Viper and Scrap Iron hung out after work
I got about half of my Joe stuff from garage sales and the other from stores. I had a lot of extras. I never purchased a Tele-Viper and never found one at a garage sale.

I'm glad you liked it. It seems a lot of kids played with this accessory as some kind of focused energy weapon. Seems like a logical use for it.
@@JoeMotionVideos82 He's too critical, I think.

Agreed. He's pretty cool.
He was a “monitor sitting figure” for me, almost MADE for that listening post playset
I used it as a TV camera with a battle grip.
That makes sense. It was about the size of an 80s camcorder.
for whatever reason, I liked the tele-viper. It looked great as shotgun in a vehicle or hacking the enemy fort. Kinda went with everything.
hilarious episode. i never knew what his camera/gun thing was before. i used it as a rocket propelled grenade thing. i like this dude slightly more than you do it seems...but all your criticisms are spot on...i have similar views. though i almost spit up my coffee at the zandar comparison....tele-viper >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> zandar

@9:52 based on RL experiences with the E-4 mafia?

Could you make a review a Tele Viper from 2014 ?
I used his accessory as a focused micro wave transmitter that had a setting where it child be "turned up" and set as a weapon type thing. like able to burn things.
Not bad. Pretty sophisticated. And it gives the Tele-Viper something to do other than make phone calls.
+HoodedCobraCommander788 I was always ahead of my time. lol
These are some great reviews, very detailed info with some wacky humor.
I'm glad you're enjoying them :)

"Ringy dingy" love that skit keep up the great work.
Thank you! I'll do my best :)
Funny thing is that tv device the tele viper has was considered somewhat sci fi for the 80's. Now we have portable video devices everywhere.
cool review
Thank you!
I would imagine Tele-Viper spent most of his life watching video screens.
Can’t explain why but I always liked Tele-Viper. He was on of my favorites that wave; yeah, I even liked him better than the Crimson Guard.
As for his weapon, I always used it as a sonic disrupter type thing that disabled or deafened the Joes with sonic waves.
I though he looked groovy when I was little; still one of my favs, along with 1st B.A.T
While I don't think he's as awesome as the Crimson Guard, he's definitely better than Hoodie is saying. I think he's underrated, for sure. He poses great.
We have used the tele-Viper weapon as a "Scatter ,spread " gun as seen in the Konami video game "Contra " ...... gud times...
Like all 85 Cobras Tele Viper is a great and classic figure, I have yet to obtain one for my collection...to go with my Python Patrol Tele viper 📡📹📟🎛
I used the Tele-Viper weapon as a spy microphone and video camera that was used to record information and then transmit, via the back pack , back to Cobra Commander.
I have this when i was a kid but i dont know whats its name?now i know tnx for a nice review
And playing space invaders while cobra commander wasn't looking.
Update to my comment 2 years ago I finally got a Tele Viper today 📹🌐🕛
I used it as a scanner, and also a frequency jammer...
When he jammed the frequency... was it RASPBERRY?
I used it as a sort of sonic blaster kind of thing. Capable of only knocking out enemies, not killing them.
I have been waiting for this review!!:D one of my first figures as a kid. Hate to figure, love the animation

I never really used the scanner very much. I removed it from the backpack and give him a rifle instead.
At least with a rifle he can get in the action.
Always used it as a frequency jammer
"Polishing his helmet...." lol Dirty Destro!
Hi @HoodedCobraCommander788! Relatively new to the channel. Really love your work keep it up! Would you mind reviewing the headhunter stormtrooper from the 90s? Its not outlandish and is more of a super urban terrorist.
I will eventually review everything. I don't have a Headhunter Stormtrooper yet, but I'll pick one up eventually. Ever figure will get his turn!
No mention about how TeleViper looks like garry schandling?
HCC, once Cobra Month is over, can you please do a review on the Warthog AFIV? It's not a bad vehicle for 1988.
AIFV*
It's a good vehicle. I definitely want to review it soon.
I used it as a laser. I had no clue what his accessory was. Lol.
Maybe a Terrordrome next time?
"The Tele-Viper Corps. We don't care and we don't have to." LOL. That was hilarious! As a kid, I had this figure and I really liked him. I will admit I used his accessory as a massive laser blaster. nice work I liked this guy though not a top tier figure but I dug him for some strange reason ..
Thank you!
Yeah me too! Not quite sure why, but it's still a groovy design
SJH CFP his helmet was pretty cool looking man I really liked it
The thing about the tele-Vipers that I always thought was cool was they didn't talk at least they never did in the cartoon the only things they said came out on their facemask.
I thought it was a Camrea
It could work as a camera!
An underrated figure, if they would have only thrown in the Officer's AK-47 and a way to store his other rifle on the pack it would have been perfect
But hey he is a tech so he was driver for many vehicles in my team ...
Me I'd use it as a communications device and with some field mods a makeshift microwave laser.
one ringy- dingy two ringy- dingy, ---Lily Tomlin works for Cobra. nice
Apple Vision Pro brought me here.
So Dad tells me that is scrambler gun thing so we used this as device as kids ...
That's a good use for it.
You missed a real opportunity in this video, you should have made Destroy say "Uhh, I can't talk right now, the Baroness is polishing my helmet!"
I remember playing with him as a kid and pretending that his accessory was a wide blasting laser gun. It would shoot thick beams that would cause its target to explode... Much like a grenade launcher. I knew it was meant to be a camera or something like that, but I felt that was stupid for a terrorist unit to have.
In 2024 the Cobra Tele Viper clearly wields an anti-drone, electronic interference weapon.
I didn't like this guy, but had him. He was one of those figures I used to just sit in a seat of a vehicle or a control panel.
MASK, eh? Well, Hasbro is trying to unite their properties into one universe.
Untreated Tech specialist seriously impotent maybe with different equipment like Radio Satellitery phone ,laptop , drone & small SMG MP5K4 ...
A submachine gun really would have helped this figure. He doesn't even have any sculpted-on weapons.
HoodedCobraCommander788
I saw modern version of this man with MPK 5K4 , suitcase laptop backpack ... But he was to yellow helmet " Python Patrol version " ...
cobra callcenter
That helmet makes him look like he’s wearing the fluffy hood of a parka. I can’t take this nerd seriously.
