First in Violet defense. The second time she didn’t fall for it. The third time is was from her pervious mentor. But, I do agree with you that the signs where there not to trust him. Second, we are talking about a military environment. Separation is a thing. It wouldn’t hit reality or as hard if it wasn’t in here (did two tours in Iraq here. So I get you but it is a fact of life with any military job). Third, I do believe that they could have skipped around some of the redundant school stuff. They did that in book one and they could have did that here. Fourth, I am kinda thinking with the why this ended that she is going to truly explore the love triangle with Xaden, Dain and Viloet (especially since Xaden isn’t human anymore and Dain is pretty much back to being the Dain she knew). Last, being a father and my son was in the military like I was. I completely see how the mom was like how she was. Especially since the military hid a bunch from her when it came to Violet. Edited: If you like dragon books then you will like songs of chaos. They currently have three books out with one novella (ascendant, unbound and defiant).
I 1000% agree with everything you said about this book review. I could not have said it better. There was one thing that I wouldn't do, though, and that is dock, a book stars based on the greedy publishers or misprints. BUT I do agree that the editing could have been better. I said a couple of times.. "why are we STILL talking about this over and over?" Also totally agree that fourth wing was constant important scenes and this one was not fleshed out enough. Also ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. Awesome video! 👌
i feel the same way about the separation trope! it happens in so many series and the entire time i’m just WAITING and pushing through a book just to get them back together. i love your review i felt the same way about the first half!
I here ya on this. But this is a military setting. Separation is a thing in the military (speaking from personal experiences). It wouldn’t hit as hard if it didn’t have this aspect in it. The reason is cause it is closer to reality. Closer you make things to reality harder it hits.
This review is the most spot on review I’ve watched since release day. 💯 I read Iron Flame over 3 days and I actually ended up purchasing it on my Kindle, because of the tiny tiny print! Which annoyed me, because I had already spend money on the special edition, but I was struggling and needed to read it on a different platform in order to avoid a headache 😅 I’ve watched so many review videos where I though reviewers were either being too harsh or way too enamored with the book and just willing to skip over all of the flaws. Your review summed up all of my (conflicted) thoughts and feelings. Overall, I really enjoyed it, but there were several things that got on my nerves. Side note: a lot of people really hated Cat being thrown into the mix, but I ate that s**t up and it was refreshing to see someone with the same opinion. 😂
I do not have any idea why so many booktubers are hating on this book. There grips on this book are really found on nothing. I think the big problem with the review of this book from other booktubers is that they had it in there mind what was going to happen and that didn't happen. I will bet you all those booktubers that are hating on the book will defiantly read the next book. Some of these booktubers are only giving it bad reviews cause others are and it is click bait to get more clicks instead of actually doing an honest review. This is the problem not only with booktube but also with gametubers. A lot of people beat up FF7 Remake in the gamer community. But now there all praising FF7 Rebirth before it comes out. SMH If FF7 Remake was so bad then why get excited for FF7 Rebirth. Same here. The booktubers that gave negative reviews of Fourth Wing where the first and soo excited to get Iron Flame and then they gave a negative review of Iron Flame and walking back some of there critiques of Fourth Wing. This is how you know that most of these reviews are not being totally honest. It is not secret that negativity gets more clicks than being positive.
Thank you so much. We don't have this book in our country. But now I am looking forward to reading it so badly😢 It's a pity I even can't find and read it English, I have read only 15 pages.
Crescent City 3 is what I'm waiting for...and everything you said about pushing out books to make a buck I totally agree and pray they listen to the readers and take their time on the next ones.. Merry Christmas ⛄🎄
Great review! I just finished it myself. Took a bit longer as I had to catch up on the Flesh and Fire series! I agree with everything you said. I was a little annoyed that Violet continued to do things her character wasn’t known for. Like she’s the smartest in her class, has experience with assassination attempts, but yet she’s continues to do things her character wouldn’t do. I give it the same rating. Personally, I felt they could have cut out allot of what was happening and actually made it 3 books like it was initially intended. Then maybe we wouldn’t have all of this unnecessary dialogue. I love the series! What’s next? 😂
I think she acted exactly how she acted in book one. Being extremely intelligent but also extremely emotional. She makes way too many decisions based off her emotions instead of what her head is telling her. This is actually the same in part one. Only difference is that in this one, she is in a full blown relationship with Xanden. So she is making more emotional decisions then in the last cause she wasn’t really in a relationship with anyone for 2/3 of the first book
Yeah I absolutely agree there were so many repetitive scenes that I basically skimmed through them lol I do agree that Violet didn’t seem like herself but I liked that more because I wasn’t a fan of her in fourth wing lol YES WHY DIDNT VIOLET LEARN ABOUT THE NOT DRINKING THING WTF??? Very act of convenience but srsly that was maddening! As usual this book had very predictable things. Like the whole needing the dragons (and Andarna) to activate the wards I was just waiting for them to figure it out. And I was glad Dain got a redemption too. Though I hated him in the first book but he proved himself. I didn’t like the mom’s redemption because she is such a one dimensional cryptic character that I didn’t have time to feel sad for her death. Especially when the whole time it’s her kids against her until she dies. But I understand from your POV. The end with Xaden I just yelled “oh f*** h***” LOL. But I thought the way he became it could’ve been more ….. believable. PS: YES. USING THE WORD ENDGAME is like breaking the fourth wall 😂 so bizarre. I have no idea where it’s gonna go from here but Andarna is definitely special and I’m so excited and she said herself to Violet that she woke up for her… more hints on how special she is. Definitely ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
She WAS herself, though. What, did you really think her character changed? Of course it didn't. The narrative refuses to let her. It will bend itself to her whim before it lets her anywhere near character development.
I see a lot of people saying there was a character change. I didn’t see no character change. To me she acted exactly how she did in book one. Now I did find it extremely Hypocritical that she held lying to her and not telling her everything over his head when she was doing the exact same thing. Also him saying well you never asked. A guy isn’t a mind reader. Xaden isn’t a mind reader. Now he can read attentions but not there mind. Every time she had all these questions she was blocking him. So how is he supposed to know what to tell her. Especially since the ones he finally did tell her (once she asked) could get him and her killed if anyone else knew. SMH.
So accurate, great review! 🙂Recently, my friend and fellow author handpicked FOURTH WING for me to read and review. While I suspect his choice was partly in jest, there was also a genuine curiosity about whether this book and series lived up to all the hype, and sadly, it did not, however, for me it was still an enjoyable read. In any sense, here are my top picks of the year so far: 1. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer Armentrout 2. Sex God: Uriel by F. Simmons
I do agree with u with how small the font was bc i had that same problem with zodiac academy book 8 like the font was tooo tiny I started iron flame maybe the next day when it came out and i got the audiobook for this n i followed along as i was listening to it and i really enjoy iron flame i gave it 5 stars the way everyone was tlkin about chapter 25 i was like ok wahs up with chapter 25 like wahs the hype and once i got to chapter 25 n started reading it i was like ok n then once that bomb shell hit jaw hit the floor the way i almost through my book across the room 😂😂 like the gasp that left my mouth and the ending of this book didnt see it comin at all i got a few questions like how was violets brother able to stay alive for 6 yrs or how did he not die thoes lil gaps the part were liam was violets sprit while she was begin Tortured omg way i almost sobbed like i loved that it was liam and not xaden in that one scene The scene with cat like she got on my nerves at first but once that battle scene in the end i didnt mind her at all That whole scene with violets mother Sacrificing her self sobbed lol And the ending didnt see that coming at all like wah was that lol 😂😂 and right now im middle of a fire in the fleash im about 27% of the way through im on page like 168 n im listening to the audiobook n following along n so far im liking n idk if u have read yet but i did read britneys spears new book the woman in me n holy shit that was soo emotional n heart breaking i absolutely loved it
I enjoyed this book as well. I loved the story continuing on but it took me two weeks to read too much longer then book 1. I would have loved to hear your predictions on what Violet’s second signet will be.
I saw a thread on Reddit that goes over the Gaelic meanings of the dragons names having correlations to the riders signets. With that idea, it’s theorized that andarna means ‘second honor’ , so it maybe related to rebirth or something to do with death. 🤔
the Signet depends on the dragon power and the riders personality. We know two things about the dragon power. One she can shape shift or a bare minimum change the colors of her scales. Two, when she was consider a toddler she could stop time. Violet personality is of three factors. One her body is really weak so it consistently needs mending (Cause her body is week the power went the opposite direction. To having the strongest power to compensate). So we can throw that one out. This power will have noting to do with her weak body. So now we are down to two. These two are, one that she is extremely irrational and makes decision on emotions instead of her brain (despite being incredibly smart). Two, she will go beyond any means for others (especially the ones she loves). So, on the first one, this will lead into a power of the mind. Like being able to since someone feelings. Kind of nerfed instead of being a full mind reader. Just like Xanden. For the second one could be a bending power. A power to heal others. the problem with this is that it doesn't match any of Andrea powers. So, it think it will be something in the middle. Like the ability to camouflage herself and others (not shadows. but hide in brad daylight). Or the ability to not stop time but slow it down (she has already did this mult times in Iron flame after Andrea lost the power to stop time. This one is the most likely). Now these are just my theories given the context clues in the story. I could be way off.
Me and you are actually on the exact same page. Then enters Dain (since he absolutely love Violet more than anything in the whole world). I think Violet and Dain will hook up but by book five that relationship will fall through and the one with Xanden will be rekindled after he is cured. In the end one will have to die. I am of firm belief that Dain will die to save Xanden. Dain has never consider any other girl his entire life except violet. He will do anything for her. Including giving his life up to save Xanden cause he will feel that Xanden will make Violet more happy than he can ever. I get huge beta male vibes from Dain and that is his ultimate downfall. I actually think Dain would be a better man to Violet than Xanden ever will. Problem is the Violet will never respect Dain like she will with Xanden. Just a fact.

I would love it to have been 3! I’m all about smaller, more complete feeling series! I don’t need 87 books to be happy

The scene with cat like she got on my nerves at first but once that battle scene in the end i didnt mind her at all
That whole scene with violets mother Sacrificing her self sobbed lol
And the ending didnt see that coming at all like wah was that lol 😂😂

Spot on review.
Thank you!
I feel in the third book there is going to be more separation and Xaden is going to leave trying to protect Violet from him. 😭😭😭
I will not be a fan if that happens for sure, because I also don’t like when the books start feeling like the same book over and over
