The problem of this video is that it only shows Kroos’ highlights from this season, which was not that good for Real Madrid besides their run in the Champions League. If you watch Kroos’ best highlights of his whole career, you will see how amazing he was all these years.

Toni Kroos is German therefore "oo" isn´t pronounced like in English like "looping" or "loot" therefore "Kroos" isn´t like "Cruz"..basically "Kroos" is like "cross" but the "o" is way longer because there are 2 of them and the "s" is not that sharp because there is just one "s".
Kroos is kinda like a "Classic Nr 10" was back in the days but acting from way far back on the pitch from a way more defense position than a "Classic Nr 10" did. BUT he controlls the pace of his team, he distributes the ball in those areas where it is dangerous for the opponent and that is "Classic Nr 10" stuff.

Kross is not flashy at all. He's EFFECTIVE.
It can be hard for casual observers to appreciate his skills, or to put a good highlights, because he doesn't score bangers like ronaldo or fancy dribbles like messi.
It's his subtle drop of shoulders when he receives the ball. The way he always looks over his shoulders / or not -because he already knows where everyone are. The way he spot runners that nobody else sees.
I always find myself cursing at how unbelievably good he is when he receives a regular pass. it looks like he just traps the ball, but defender who marks him are sent to oblivion just with subtle shoulder movements. Subtle moments that nobody seem to care.
He doesn't have big highlights moments. His every subtle moves are the moments.

People and even some Real Madrid fans don't really realize how good Kroos is, he's the kinda midfielders that plays a little bit deeper (while Modric is the more "creatively" offensive) and mostly he's controlling the tempo of the game, being the bridge between defending-attacking, switch plays etc. If Modric playing more about dribbles and more "flashy" as the motor in the midfield, Toni Kroos' code is precision. He's somehow still considered kinda underrated, kinda like Guti back in the days.

As you could see one of his main qualities is his passing, and one of the things that makes him so good is definitely how consistent he is. According to various stats he’s never had a match with an accuracy percentage lower than 91% and he’s well known for doing MOSTLY forward passes, so maintaining that percentage is tough

By far the most passes behind defense lines and over the most players this season in europes top 5 leagueas AGAIN. There is not many people in the history of football that decide for themsleves if they play another year each year for Real Madrid or not and not the club. Even being in the starting line up for that long is crazy.

Hate to be "that guy" that corrects you but I'm that guy and it's for your benefit. It's not because I want you to look stupid, but rather because you will look less stupid in the future when speaking with or to other futbol fans. You are pronouncing it like Tom Cruise. Kruze... It's crew-sss. Like the word crew tightly conjuncted with a hiss like a snake. Croose (I suppose). More S than Z. Also in the video you said great cross on one that didn't cross the central line of the pitch. The line that would hypothetically run through the center dot (where kick offs happen) and both penalty spots. So it wasn't a cross. It was a center. A centered ball, or a center, which is in its essence the same as a cross in its trajectory, intent and outcomes, is commonly used the same way cross is used here in the USA. Cross is used interchangeably with a center by American audiences mostly because of lack of understanding or because it's purpose is qualitatively equal. The pass where you speak great teamwork and then have the captioning asking if it was offside and stating it's not (good on you by ge way.... this is the correct call) that pass by Kroos is a perfect example of a cross. It was a pass that crossed that Central line with deadly placement in front of goal. So that one is most definitely a cross but not a center because he was in a very central position himself. Hope this makes sense and gives you some clarification. I also loved this video. Your showing much more enthusiasm than before. May I speak on behalf of all fans around the world when I say that we get excited like this or more when we are witness to or a party to such great displays of the beautiful game. It's passion beyond measure... At least for me

Weird compilation. Some nice plays, but by far not his best of. I don't like Real, i don't really like Kroos off the pitch, but damn, he is one of my favorite players ever. He is so calm and professional, he has such a great understanding and overview and his passes are incredibly precise. I guess all that could be said about Modric too and yet, they still are very different players somehow. Together they are just amazing. ... But also when not together. I mean that club can have one of them on the bench, let the other do his magic on the field and then replace him with a player of equal quality, that is rare. So sad that they are playing at this stupid club.

Kroos' style of play isn't about flair, it is about consistency and passing (as you noticed). Every year he just goes out and completes over 90% of his passes, even as he served as the teams primary passer of long balls. He's a damn robot with his consistency. With Modric as the do everything magician and Casemiro serving as the human tank, the players' skills complimented each other perfectly and formed one of the greatest midfields the sport has ever seen. And while Kroos may not have won a Ballon d'Or, he's absolutely a one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.

Loving your journey, it’s similar to mine as although I grew up in the UK my sports were Rugby and North American sports (hockey was my first love as in Nottingham it’s the second biggest sport after football, even though we have Trent Bridge - an iconic international cricket ground). So I was much more familiar with US sports that soccer / football when I started getting into it. It’s pretty difficult getting into it here because it’s something you are just expected to know about in great detail from birth pretty much.
Funnily enough my other half is from the US and I have to explain American Football to her, even the basics, but she’s getting there 😂

Kroos always been a strange player to me and never really been a fan but cannot deny his ability to pass the ball long or short and for being a corner kick specialist. Pretty average both offensively and defensively but next to Modric who took care of the offensive movements and Casemiro taking care of the defensive end he did work well as stabilizing player doing a bit of both with deep playmaking being his role on the team. Xavi is probably the closest comparison, less elegance and movements but he compensated with his set pieces. As someone mentioned already Quarterback is a good description of him as he's not exactly athletic or class in other areas than dishing out the ball but he's also world class in doing that.

He speaks English, in which the double o makes a u sound, so it'd be more helpful to tell him that it's pronounced as if it was a single long vowel "o", and therefore it rhymes with "gross."
