- During shipping and handling, or after topping up with oil, jacks may have air trapped in the hydraulic system. When this occurs, the pumping action can become spongey, offer only minimal lifting on each pump of the handle, or possibly not even lift at all.
All of these potential problems are easily solved by purging the air from the jack.

Thanks buddy. Very useful. This info should’ve come with the jack
when bleeding, what happens if you pinch open the filler plug for a long time ? When ever you add more oil, does that mean you have to bleed because you are possibly letting a lot of atmospheric air into the system ?
Great video!
You can buy the rubber plugs on Amazon in case you mess it up by the way.
And Ebay, To say they can not be bought is just stupid and uninformed
You say only use a specific kind if oil. What kind? I have a duralast & there's apparently no phone # for duralast to ask them👋
You can buy Jack oil at the auto parts store I think it's pretty well universal.
Awesome video! Thanks!
By the way do you know where I can get an U-Bracket for the plunger in a small jack? Thanks
Many thanks, this video is really useful.
When do i need to change the oil in my jack? I have had it for about 3 years, don't use it much. for my personal use and family use
You dont, unless you use it a lot and the seals are bad or rust contaminates the oil.
The main problem with lube oil used in vehicles/engines is heat and exposure to combustion or coolant, etc. if you have a major problem.
My jack didn't come with the rubber plug lmao
Thanks for the video. Always great info from Supercheap Auto A+
done this procedure several times and didnt work at all for our 1600kg ToolPro hydraulic jack. I wouldn't recommend this product at all!
