Honestly it is practice, practice, practice. Harmony is an ear you develop and a muscle that has to be excercised over and over again to be strong and confident despite melody being present. A practical thing on a Sunday morning for a church set up with in-ear monitors, you can just have the melody MUCH lower in your ears and focus on having your harmony part dialed up a bit more so you don't get so clouded by the melody and have less or a chance to lean into it. But truly, practice makes perfect
Thank you so much! I am trying out for my church’s worship team and I have to harmonize with this song for my tryouts. You helped so much!
So glad to help!
Thank you ❤
@@jjoyedenil Happy to help!
Do you have any tips for when you are singing harmony and keep getting sucked into the melody? Thank you your videos are so helpful.

Thank you so much! I will definitely request that next rehearsal!@@HarmonyGuru45
Thanks for your harmony video. I'd appreciate less talking between songs, as it can disrupt the flow. Just a suggestion; feel free to ignore.
Thanks for the feedback. You can always fast forward to get what you need from my videos :)
