    Hummel's Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major is the best trumpet concerto ever composed. It's full of joy! I love it.

      No it's not. The great master Haydn wrote one. No comparison.

      Absolutely agree.
      Haydn's trumpet Concerto in e flat minor gives Hummel's trumpet Concerto a hard run for the money. Being a Trumpeter, I love the beautiful sound that only Symphonic music can bring out the true sound of the horn.
      O.B.T.W. - I am a retired Paramedic/firefighter of 31 years. I have always asked my colleagues if they now, or have ever played an instrument. Over half have always said "yes." My theory is that the same type A personality, where you want to be lead, stand out playing solos, and being in charge, draws trumpet players to that field of work. ❤

    Happy to see Hummel's music appearing. It deserves to be better known. This performance illustrates that his concerto can stand with the best of works for the trumpet. Bravo to all who made it possible.

    I was impressed by the composition that does not break the atmosphere of music. The performance of the trumpet solo for 18 minutes and 13 seconds is wonderful Player like articulation or rhythm and melody (I agree with the guidelines · Direttanto · TS, It includes technical terms) PA · Mixing technique · Camera split is wonderful. Although it is an aside, it may be said that it is a romantic era when it says in the arrangement of timpani of the orchestra organization.

    • @reviewsomatic

      +Everest Liu (Manijure) Yes quite! However I believe he is playing this on an Eb trumpet which helps with getting up there in the top range.

    • @chrishamilton4999
      @chrishamilton4999 7 лет назад +1

      Joseph, those little horns really rip it out of the player - if you cannot get the required range on the good old Bb trumpet, you will not get it out of the Eb. They are much more problematic as regards intonation. Then the player has to recreate the Bb sound as much as he/she can. Other than fingering, then trumpet is not the soft option.

    音楽の雰囲気を壊さない構成に感動しました。18分13秒の間のトランペット・ソロの演奏は素晴らしいですね奏者アーティキュレーション又リズムとメロディーが好きです(私のガイドラインに一致します・ディレッタント・TS、尚コメントの中に音楽や映画関係の専門用語を含んでいます)PA・ミキシングテクニック・カメラ割りが素晴らしいですね。余談になりますがオーケストラ編成のティンパニの配置で言うとロマン派時代と言ってもいいかも知れませんね。動画の題名はヨハン・ネポムク・フンメル - ロバート・フレール - トランペット

    What fabulous elegant and beautiful music produced by this amazing musician who was Hummel. The gracefulness and joy are contagious with moments of admirable lyricism. This concert is one of the most beautiful works that I have heard from this specific period with this particular instrument.The soloist interpretation is admirable for the magnificent sound he extracts from the trumpet. The orchestra and its direction are remarkable, establishing a dialog extraordinary with the player.Viva Hummel and his fabulous and unbelievable music. Thanks for this excellent and magnificent recording.

    Hm. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say he drew a lot of inspiration from Maurice Andre. This is not an insult. It takes a great player to approach how Andre performed this piece.
    And the orchestra...they did pretty well, but it was clear they focused their efforts on the third movement.
