I dunno if they're in early access but there's TWO other romancables and seeing that dragon with a suspicious heart looks like it might match up to the one silhouette that LOOKS like it has horns. You don't understand. IF THIS GAME let's me romance a dragon... it's OVER FOR ME. The bard in me is screaming.
The devs knew what they were doing with Olric. I’m convinced they’ve already worked in a way to make him an unlockable romanceable character in a future update.

Just a quick tip for the mines, the slimes that throw rocks are really easy to deal with if you treat your sword like a baseball bat. Just smash those rocks back at them and they die really easily.
I’m honestly so impressed you got to the end of the mines without figuring this out. Those little bastards are tough! I wouldn’t have been able to do it 😵
I figured that out on accident and I was like "ooooo game changer" (literally lol) although sometimes I still get hit. The one that shoots one after the other is hard sometimes cuz the first ball hits the other and doesn't hit the slime ugh lol
I'm only partially through the video (23:39) so maybe you figured this out later, but when you said that it might be a bug that your egg disappears after getting beads from an animal, it's because you fed the egg to the animal. They drop beads when you hand feed them :)
I love SDV but wish others would stop calling any new / other farm sim a "rip off" or copy of SDV , they're not! Please stop being negative & immature about any farm sim that isn't Star Dew Valley.
This one really is a copy, though. Almost everything is organized all in the same way. There's the place where all the items are put on display called the museum. There's the underground place with sequentially numbered screens called the mines. All the crops are organized into four seasons with each crop being planted, growing, and being harvested within it's allotted season. Every villager's relationship is measured on a scale which is advanced via the gifting of items and the completion of quests. The primary means of accessing quests is via a public board in the center of town and the secondary means is by mail. The quests are accomplished by delivering a particular set of items. SDV does these things in a very particular way and FoM copies that very particular way. You don't talk to Celine to get a quest to water her crops while she's away for a week or make Olric happy by smashing the rocks blocking the lift from operating because that's not how SDV did things. I will give FoM an enormous amount of credit for it's QoL improvements over SDV. It's very hard to go back to seeing Marnie stare at the microwave for six hours when you need hay or having to go through the busywork of individually fetching ingredients out of chests every time you want to craft something. The artwork is gorgeous, the play control is fluid, the dialogue is great. This is one of the few games held back by copying SDV rather than propped up by it. I'd love to see the devs step further out of SDVs shadow.
@@VeylonThe mines are actually a combination of Harvest Moon DS and Rune Factory (both for Stardew and Mistria) but I agree that the elevators are a uniquely Stardew touch... although, Rune Factory usually has a means of progression saving in combat areas. The affection system - both quest board and speaking/gifting - is a clean rip from Harvest Moon. Especially notable is Tale of Two Towns. Season-based short growth crop system? Harvest Moon! None of this is to say that they HADN'T taken these elements from Stardew. Only saying where Stardew got them to begin with. The museum and fishing system was fully Animal Crossing tho.

i have a feeling that Olric has a crush on/is dating one of the saturday merchants, there's a bit of dialogue that i saw which made me think that... maybe thats why olric isnt romanceable
I played day one in the demo and loved it, had to stop myself playing. I think I'll wait a little into the early access for more bits to be added (note I'm deep in Coral island and I am bad at multi tasking games)
I absolutely loved your video. I got this game yesterday (early access just released) and played through the first few days. I am OBSESSED. This video was really helpful for my plan to space things out. I feel like I can really take my time and enjoy playing rather than feel rushed to complete everything as quickly as possible
The thing that’s stressing me out so hard here is seeing how far you’re going without getting the backpack upgrade in the general store 😭😭 there’s even a second one once you upgraded it. Maybe you get it eventually but I’m like halfway through and I can’t believe how much progress you’ve been able to make without getting frustrated by the storage space

Rooibos actually translates to red bush from the afrikaans language. Honey bush is a different tea but they get mixed up because they look similar. They're kinda like cousins but the tastes are different and where they grow also differ
I have a theory that they've made Olric undateable for marketing, to get people talking about the game's hot forbidden fruit. I suspect that at some point, they will make him romanceable. Given his personality, he may just not care for romance, so they could well keep him off limits as well

Especially fully romancing the characters (there are still plenty of hearts we have to unlock) and tbh I'm excited to try and free Calderas (the dragon statue on the farm) cause, uh, hes got a heart on his bio meaning hes probably romanceable and I wanna free him from his rock and give him gifts and show him and stuff.

Once you upgrade your combat so you can do the jump attack it’s easier to take out the mushrooms too because you can knock them over then hit them 😊
