I use steel whips From 102" to 36". But my favorites are the skip shooter top load fiberglass antennas. My five and seven footers are some good antennas and take the power I need or use them for. Always 1.1 to1.3 readings.

The good old Firestix are my favorite fiberglass antenna. Adjustable tip. 😉 problem is once the glass cracks/splinters it done.

This looks like a good area to bed those new brakes in. Good luck if you didn't.

If you like the fiberglass antenna I think it would work best in the center of your rack and a ground wire to the frame glad things are better take care.

Yes but I like to have that rack clear for loading stuff. The shell and rack are aluminum. I checked for ground. I run a aux battery, solar panel, and inverter in the shell. Everything is grounded to the chassis with a extra wire going back to the main engine battery.

I thought you are supposed to have coax ran the route you want and all doors and windows closed before tuning. Maybe the reading was inaccurate due to that.

Where do you get your CB stuff from

I got my Texas Ranger and Galaxy from Copper Electronics, there's also Bells CB, and Raney's Truck Parts. I had the Galaxy moded at the CB shop in Ontaro by the truck stop off the I-10. You can buy the radio moded from Bells CB. Custom!

Chris at Superior CB Shop in Ontario, CA is the best and most honest tech I've ever found.
