I remember those very well. My Dad had built one just for small fire wood. It had a wooding frame and worked for many years. And yes they can be very dangerous. When my Dad had his sawmill,he would give the slabs to anyone who needed them. One fellow brought his buzzsaw to the mill. My dad had to take him to the hospital has he, about cut his hand off. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.
I think you will "invent" a chute or small conveyor to move the cut-offs from the buzz saw to the tote with some re-purposed "find" that you rescue along the way. I'm sure your mind is working on that. 😁😁
@@deernutOO I already had that idea I've got an old snowmobile carcass I thought about using that although I don't think that it would be quite long enough. I guess I could put the tote down in a hole maybe I would work then
Does need a bit of filing to make it sing like a sharp buzz saw blade. The dead timber is hard on cutting edges, albeit Tom is careful not to drag logs in the dirt. But blowing dust and sand gets into the drying checks on these logs.
@@jamesswanson2312 the buzz saw blade has a crosscut saw on it. Saw the teeth have to be sharpened on an angle instead of straight across like a rip saw

That buzz saw made quick work of the slabs
@@davebarnes9099 it does work quite well and it saves on chainsaw chains and bars

Don't take long to make a good pile up and can you use the blade sharpener on this one and the big saw Jim Swanson Oregon Ohio

Can he use the sharpener for the mill on this blade to sharpen it up or does it take a different one

What is the faded symbol on the side of the tractor grill/nose. It looks like a nazi unit marking from ww2
I never thought of it that way. It was hand-painted on the tractor when I bought it. I always assumed that it was just an IH symbol with a fancy H
