Now it's lost the cross plane crank and has opf/gpf is a shame, but it still has that amg perfection and looks👍😀

I love how AMG are downsizing to 4 cylinders in a lot of their cars but even with one of the few cars with a V8 inside they still manage to make it sound like a like 4 cylinder
This is mainly because of the completely reworked engine, a new crankshaft, an angle of 180° instead of 90° between the two halfs and the firing order 1-8-2-7-4-5-3-6
It’s a bit unjustified to say it sounds like a 4 cylinder, them revs at the start are super aggressive for a 4 cylinder engine. Yeah it’s muted but definitely more aggressive sounding than a 4 cylinder.

Ferrari are always talking about how hard they have to work on the sound of their flat crank, twin-turbo, particulate filtered V8s, and I'll bet most of us thought it was all just marketing/publicity fluff. But having "heard" this AMG, it makes me appreciate how much work they really had to do! Direct comparison at 6:50.

I think thats mercedes’s strategy to replace the v8, since thwy say the upcoming c63 will have a I4 with electric motors coz certainly it doesn’t sound V8 at all.

@@陳雨鑫-s6x nah, vipers pretty fast around a track and in 0-60 considering it’s a manual only. The viper is lighter than the amg, but it has less horsepower and no dct. That and the viper was faster then the normal amg gtr.
@@nikobellic4081 it’s got some pretty heavy similarities, the long hood, big wing and the wide low aggressive stance. That and it’s a track weapon.

GT BS is just from a different planet when it comes to handling. It gives you alot of confidence and its easy to drive fast. I've driven one by myself and It's the best car I've ever driven.
Lights look a bit odd on this one but otherwise 👌

They needed more power so they had to make a flat plane crank engine which sounds very muted as compared to the cross plane crank which they normally make and use in the likes of the C63, E63 etc

The Benzo AMG looks anazing, but sounds awful! The Huracan, 911, and Cayman all highlight just how quiet this GT is. I also heard an older R8 V10 R-tronic off camera, also quite soulful compared to this now nearly mouse-quiet GT ):
