Jeez, it took 3 white people to introduce a story about Dayton's funk scene. Couldn't they find a black reporter?

I think PRINCE tried to take us down by him and his Entourage. They came close but was not able to do it. I think I would put Minneapolis Minnesota in second place tho!
Prince, Morris Day & The Time, Vanity/Apollonia 6, Sheila E., The Family, Andre Cymone, Mazarati, Jill Jones, Brown Mark, Jessie Johnson, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. That's nothing to sneeze at!

UNPOPULAR QUESTION: Why so many of em have to come to Detroit to put it on records if it's the CENTER OF FUNK?

the bands originated from dayton but dayton didn't have the recording studios or record labels so many went to Detroit, Chicago, New York and even LA to get record deals.
