    A cheaper way to use the Underground would be to get the Oyster card or use a contactless Visa or MasterCard or Apple Pay. The Oyster card costs £5 (refundable if you no longer plan to return to London for a long time) and the prices are lower (£3.10 off-peak for zones1-5 as opposed to the £5.90 paid by paper ticket).

    You need more than a couple of days when you're in London everything seems overwhelming and confusing to tourists. But I do hope you enjoyed your short stay. Would be nice to see you are back again sometime thanks for coming to visit us in London❤😊

      Oh, I love London! and I've been lucky enough to visit several times. Here I show the flight from Frankfurt but it's a very short flight from Coruña, where I live half the time. One of my best friends lives in Oxford so I gladlyyyyy go visit. Thank you for watching.

      MuchoHop Yeah it was connecting from PHX-FRA on BA, so I was connecting from the Phoenix-London flight in Terminal 3 to the London-Frankfurt flight in T5 and vice versa.

    The Piccadilly line is a nightmare! Did you use the Victoria or Central line on your holiday? Trains are every 1-2 minutes on those lines. Transport in London is expensive but can be quite fast, unfortunately, the one line that goes to the airport is the opposite of fast.

    • @MuchoHop
      @MuchoHop  7 лет назад

      I've been to London a few times and on different lines. I think overall the tube is good. It is just very busy, many people use it, loads of tourists, as expected from a large city. Yes, the airport line took forever. If I had arrived 2 minutes before, I would have gotten the train right away and I would not have had such a long wait. I had just missed it! LOL. Thanks for watching my channel! xxx

    • @paulanderson79
      @paulanderson79 7 лет назад +3

      Piccadilly Line can take a whole weekend to get from start the destination at times :) At least you didn't bother with the Heathrow Express. That's criminally overpriced.

    • @MuchoHop
      @MuchoHop  7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, transportation is not cheap in London. And like in many big cities, things can go wrong and take forever to get to your destination. I didn't think it was so bad. It was just bad timing. If I had gotten there 5 minutes before, perhaps I would have gotten the train right away. I took this line because my hotel was right by Russel Square. Thanks for your comment and for watching my channel! xxx

    Terminal 5 is vast. It's a magnificent piece of modern architecture - one of the very few things at which Britain is vaguely competent. Gate B44 indicates satellite terminal 5(B). Take a look at Google maps here:
    www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4711134,-0.4813614,778m/data=!3m1!1e3
    It gives some idea to the actual real scale of the place.
    Thanks for the travelogue. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Britain. If you're planning to come back do it within the next two years. Once we've quit the EU I think things will be somewhat less pleasant. Moving about between Britain and mainland Europe will certainly be a lot harder.
    Best wishes.

    • @MuchoHop
      @MuchoHop  7 лет назад

      Thank you for the explanation and that great aerial view of Terminal 5 and its satellite buildings. You know, honestly, I just follow the signs and go to where I have to go. Sometimes I don't even notice these things. Thanks! I love going to Britain. I've been there several times and most likely will go back. My husband and I sail occasionally in Hamble and I have two very close friends in Oxford and in Cornwall. Once UK quits the EU, things will be a little more complicated but not much more. I'll just have to travel with my passport. No big deal. I go through these difficulties when I travel to the US, so I suppose it will be similar. Thanks for your kind message and best wishes. I look forward to my next trip to the UK!! Thanks for watching my channel! xxx

      Excellent. Oxford is just along the road from us here. We spend a lot of time in and out of the John Radcliffe Hospital as my wife has a fairly impactive neurological condition. It's a very compact city which doesn't cope well with modern traffic.
      Cornwall an amazing county. We spent our honeymoon there in 1995. It has an aura of magical Celtic folklore about it. Until you get to peak holiday season and it adopts an aura of litter dropping visiting Brits who are incapable of operating a litter bin.

    I am flying from Berlin to AMS (3 days stay) from AMS to CPH (3 days stay). From CPH to London (Heathrow) (3 day stay) and back to Berlin. Which budget airline fits this? Thanks

    • @MuchoHop
      @MuchoHop  8 лет назад

      Oooohh, I'm not really sure if there is one low-cost airline that would do this. Although they do go to all the cities you mention, they won't necessarily have connections from city 1 to city 2. For ex, Ryanair n Easyjet don't go to AMS from Berlin. Check Kayak.com they have several options that could interest you. You can do your search for multiple flights and multiple airlines. I always start at this website when I look for flights. Good luck and enjoy that great trip you have planned! Coool!!! xxx

    • @crisyorke1328
      @crisyorke1328 8 лет назад +1

      Ya, that's the issue. I do plan to accommodate one more trip from Dublin to London. Many of the websities do not have the connection between the cities I am planning to go and would cost more to go to the specific airport I am looking for. E.g. Schoenofeld airport in Berlin is cheaper than Tegel airport but I want to fly from Tegel to Schiphol.Easyjet and edream.com and Ryanair are good budget airlines. I'll try to find the best deal and airport. Thanks for the reply and I can't wait to be back in London! ;-)

    • @MuchoHop
      @MuchoHop  8 лет назад

      Also consider other means of transportation when possible. There are buses and trains Berlin - Amsterdam. You really have to research and compare prices and time. Google maps and the app Rome 2 Rio give you all the different options from city to city. Sometimes I don't mind paying a little more for a train. They normally leave you right in the city center and you don't have to go through all the hassles of airports.

    Why are you always so stressed out and nervous about something so easy and so enjoyable as navigating through an airport?? You act as if it's this big mysterious maze that you somehow have to find your way through! What could be easier than going through today's well-marked and properly signed international airports? For me, big international airports like Heathrow, Frankfurt, Istanbul, and Dubai are the most exciting places in the world and I could just move into one of those airports anytime and live in there forever! RELAX, good grief!
