On March 20, 1986 I helped deliver my little one. I went home at 5 am put this on my stereo, poured a large cognac and cried with joy as I watched the sun come up over the lake. Now she's married to a good man and my granddaughter will be born August 6. I will repeat this ritual and most likely cry again. Isn't she lovely ? Thanks Stevie, I owe you
So, does that harmonica hit anyone else right in their core. Seriously, every time you hear it, it just makes you feel the song, and the sentiment so much more.
The fact that a song can make me, a 21 year old broke college student, want to have a kid and feel this way really shows how moving and emotionally genius Stevie is with his music.
My youngest daughter was born in May of 1977. I had this album and danced her around the house to this song many, many times. Can't listen to it without tearing up-----beautiful memories.
My first memory of music was being passed around as a 3 year old- I had a big ol' family and we rented a house in the Bronx. They all sang this to me. 😭😭😭💜
Every girl deserves to hear this on her birthday, if for no other reason than to hear what a real man feels when he regards a woman he loves (daughter, wife, lover).
Listening to this song in honor of my Dad, who passed 16 years ago today. This was his song to me and my sister and we used to dance to this with him when we were kids. I miss him so much but he'll always live in my heart.
This song is unique to me because made me cry so hard the first time I heard it, and every time afterwards. Songs don't make me cry without any sentimental value, but this one did, and I broke down. It's technically a simple song, but that's why it hits harder, Stevie was feeling so immeasurably happy during his daughters birth, you can tell how he instantly fell in love with her, he had to channel that into music, and it being groundbreaking or showing off extreme technical skill didn't even register to him, it's not even a concern, it's just a song which it's only purpose is to let Stevie express how beautiful his daughter is to him. It's being a simpler song shows that it's all reactionary, it's not thought out or studied or reworked, it's just his emotions on tap and it's the most touching, sweet, most heartfelt song I've heard Oh yeah, I'm not a parent, so I can't imagine how much more meaningful the song is to those who are
As a father of 2 daughters now in their 20s, I can tell you this song is anything but simple. Stevie being able to make music out of every girl dad’s feelings is pure genius.
This song came out the year my 1st daughter was born. It was/is my song for her. Sadly, she passed away in 1984. She would have been 40 years young on September 17th.
My youngest daughter was born to this song 47 years ago. I am the luckiest mom in the entire world. Thank you, Stevie, for giving us music that inspires us every day. I remember you playing Fingertips at the Apollo Theatre when you were 13 years old and I was 16, a lot of water under that bridge.
I want to thank Stevie Wonder for expressing how wonderful it is to be a parent. This is exactly how I feel about my three children. He says it best when he says "I can't believe what God has done. Through her he has given life to us." I thank God for my children and I thank Stevie Wonder for expressing it so beautifully. Now I can also thank God for three beautiful grandchildren, they are every bit as lovely.
Guys, this one just hits different when you get a daughter. I hadn’t heard the whole version of this song in years until this morning. My lady’s eight months along with mine as I type this. I heard this one on my way in to work this morning and I cried like a baby in traffic. I hope y’all are or can be as blessed as me. Never felt anything like this.
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! One late night in The '90s: I was sitting at my desk, playing video games with the sound off. My mind started to wander. For some reason; I started thinking about 'Isn't She Lovely'. (Stevie Wonder) (as musicians sometimes do) I started '𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨' the song. (in my mind) - Separating the harp. - Then, isolating the Bass melody. And, so on. This went on for almost an hour. I became so wrapped up in this that I stopped playing games. Eventually, I shut down the computer & went to the living room. When I turned on the TV; **STEVIE WONDER WAS EXPLAINING ALL THE SEPERATE INTRUMENTS HE PLAYED IN PUTTING TOGETHER 'ISN'T SHE LOVELY'.** (!?!) There is no doubt in my mind that 𝗚𝗢𝗗 was 'tapping-me' on the shoulder! - Dave B.
Today I am getting married (in about 6 hours)....I wish my grandmother could have been here to see this. She passed away when I was 16 years old. I know she is in heaven watching today. I know this because so many lovely things have happened in my life the last 10 years. I am living the life i have dreamt and I can honestly say it wasnt just hard work and/or good fortune. I think you know where I am going with this. Thanks Grandma!
Thank you all. The wedding went great except for the minister who totally wore the wrong outfit and told stories while I was standing up front with my bride. I was horrified. Lol. This guy was a crackpot. The band was bad too yet they were highly rated and played for some celebrities. I think I was duped. The wedding itself and my bride were great. She looked like an angel.
When my baby gurl came in this world, this song blasted in my head as soon as I laid eyes on her. Then my dad blasted it in the car and I lost it. Everytime I hear this I go back to the day I got to hold my princess for the first time, daddy loves you baby girl, best thing that happened in my life besides your mom (my queen) loving me!!
Brandon Holloway your daughter has been blessed with a loving father, lucky girl, some never knew what a daddy means. Cherish the time you have you share a rare gift!
This has got to be the best song ever towards one's child, the most precious gift in the world!!! Although the title is, Isn't She Lovely, it makes me think of my sons. The best gift my wife has ever given me!!! Thank you, Stevie, for sharing your love!!!
i love this comment a million times. I am the mother of boys and every time I hear it my eyes water lol, I had preemie boys that I was told had little to no chance at life. the sentiment is the same. I literally "can't believe what God has done" they are now 15 and 13..
Not enough spotlight is shown on this truly talented blessed man. He is a talented songwriter and singer. His music has meaning- touches my soul. I love Stevie forever!
26yrs ago tomorrow I was singing this song to my baby girl, looking at her today and thinking where did the time go and that I am BLESSED to have had her, thank you Stevie for our song
I can´t believe what God has done, through us he´s given life to one,but isn´t she lovely, made from love"
This one of the happiest songs ever written and if you can't feel and hear the joy in Stevie's voice, you're deaf. Thank you for all the Songs in the Key of MY Life, Mr. Wonder.
Here again .. I play this beautiful song every year on this day for my oldest daughter ... now my little girl is going to be a momma of two. Love you ReAnn and Happy Birthday
you don't hear songs that are just beautiful anymore. I mean truly wonderful and produced with soul love talent and real instruments. God bless Stevie Wonder and his gift from god. songs like these really make me feel a lot better anytime everytime
How can you NOT love this song?! As far as i can recall it's the first song i ever heard with Stevie and it was love at first hearing and the Harmonica totally got me. This is one those albums you must have in your collection if you're a true music lover! Stevie at his very very best a man truly blessed by God with some incredible talents and gifts!!
Sophia, I am sure your Daddy would say the same about you too !!! I have had to spend a fortune and go to Court FOUR TIME to get to see my young kids as my ex- wanted to exclude me from their lives. Three years later my foot is in the door and my little girl contacts me every day. :)
I was about 10 years old when this album came out. My mother played it so much and God did I enjoy it!! This to me in my humble opinion is the greatest album ever released!! A double album with a extra 45 and a lyric book!!
When I was much younger (4 or 5) I thought my daddy had written this song just for me... I ♡ and miss you daddy (RIP) Thanks for the memories and always being there for me EdeRomero Wilborn I love you.
This song played just after my little sister passed away. It will always hold a sentimental value to me. Every time I hear this song I feel a little closer to her like she is telling me something. I love it soooooooooo much!
Simply fantastic.Great song from a great double album. This 6 minute track was to be a single but Stevie did not want it reducing to a 3 minute track for radio play which is why it was never a single. Anyway 6 minutes of this is all i need to make my day. Just a great song bringing back memories of 1976
My daughter Janet was just born not even a day ago, but on the exact moment she came into this world this song came to mind and its been playing on repeat ever since. Every morning when I wake up and every night when I go to bed, even when she wakes up in the middle of the night this song is playing (in my head)
I have been a fan before I was born my dad would play his music everyday and my mom said that I would be dancing in her stomach. I own everything Stevie Wonder has ever made he is my favorite all time number 1 singer I love him so much that I thank God for blessing him to make such positive music. I am so stuck on him that no matter where I am if any of his songs come on I can't leave until it is over.
True story my father played the song for me as he carried me through the door the song was actually released in late 1975 I was born October 1975 I'm being honest here and played this album in my house daily and this is my song from my daddy rip my papa I'm 47 now and I'll never forget that
My mom used to sing the song to me when I was a baby, so this has special meaning for us! Now I'm in college and I still love this song and this album! Thanks Stevie!
How can anyone dislike this song.Just imagine your wife has just given birth to a beautiful daughter. Then come home and play this and then try to hold back the tears of joy. A truly inspirational song from possibly the best album of all time
I’m ten weeks away from exactly that. I’ve always loved this song, but it’s never made me cry like this before I found out my daughter was on the way. I’m so happy I can’t stand it.
Don't know if I mentioned this previously when listening to this song. But, I felt it's worth repeating. This was my Father & Daughter dance song at my wedding. It still brings tears to my eyes. He could really 'cut a rug' as they said back in his day. We sure did that day! He's 90 years this year, I'll be 60 this Oct. He still thinks of me as his baby girl. Dad, I Love You So Much! 🥰💞
I remembered flying back from Turkey when my ship, the USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75) made a port visit. I flew on a DC 9 to Norfolk, VA, then to Madison, AL to watched my baby girl Maya entering the world, 21 years ago. This song gives me flashbacks on everything she has done. I wished she knows how much I love her.
My mom and dad sang this song, to me in 1976 when I was born… The same year Stevie and his wife had their baby girl Aisha. My dad passed away last year, and I woke up with these words in my head… And all I could think was that these words are having blessed by my dad spoken to me this morning. So emotional and so good💗🙏🏼🥹
we're in the car leaving the hospital with our newborn. I thought it would be brilliant to play this song. Genesis Bragg born 4/6/16 7.12 pounds.7 Ounces 21inches.
+Garcia Bragg How'd your wife stand the drive without suffering a total meltdown? I can't get through 10 seconds without my heart feeling like it's going to explode.
Listening to this on my granddaughter Madison's 18th birthday, have not seen in over 9 years and I MISS HER SO SO VERY MUCH 💘. Perfect song for a beautiful baby girl, I was there when she was born & Stevie Wonder's masterpiece nailed it, to my heart 💜❤️
My Dad told me when he had came to the hospital, He had been listening and crying to this song on the Radio because he was going to have his first little girl! He still listens to it and everytime he does he calls his teenage daughter down and dances to it with me.
My youngest son was adopted by my wife and I. I sing it in my head with the words changed from she to he. Adoption is a gift for those reading this please consider it thank you kindly
What a lovely, lovely piece of music written by a [prouder than proud] first-time father* celebrating the birth of his beloved daughter. “Isn’t She Lovely”, by Stevland Hardaway Judkins (a.k.a. Stevie Wonder), was released decades ago (1976). Yet, to this day, it remains an ageless pop classic‼️ 💙🎶💜 * Since then, Stevie Wonder has fathered eight more children.
That was the first album bought when I was young. I love it. Probably Stevie Wonder's best . In 2019, my granddaughter was born. I played this song when I held her in my arms for the first time. Had tears in my eyes.
On March 20, 1986 I helped deliver my little one. I went home at 5 am put this on my stereo, poured a large cognac and cried with joy as I watched the sun come up over the lake. My first memory of music was being passed around as a 3 year old- I had a big ol' family and we rented a house in the Bronx. They all sang this to me. 😭😭😭💜
No computers, no Cd's, no cable, just vinyl :)
That harmonica solo could go on forever for all I care. It’s that good.

Man that sing and dance with their kids are the best.

Just a great song bringing back memories of 1976
Andy, this is the best music of all time.Nothing beats it.I was 13 when this song came out
My daughter Janet was just born not even a day ago, but on the exact moment she came into this world this song came to mind and its been playing on repeat ever since. Every morning when I wake up and every night when I go to bed, even when she wakes up in the middle of the night this song is playing (in my head)
I forgot how much happiness Stevie Wonder's music brings to me!!! ❤❤
Isn't she Lovely? BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!!
THIS IS THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER RELEASED.....Thank you Stevie
I have been a fan before I was born my dad would play his music everyday and my mom said that I would be dancing in her stomach. I own everything Stevie Wonder has ever made he is my favorite all time number 1 singer I love him so much that I thank God for blessing him to make such positive music. I am so stuck on him that no matter where I am if any of his songs come on I can't leave until it is over.

I woke up this morning with this song on my heart and had to play it! God bless us all!!
This is for all the Daddy's girls across the world, especially my beautiful daughter Jojo! My heart.
Well said to the greatest harmonica solo ever recorded
♥️
I have an 11 month old and I have sang this song to her since day one. Now if she's upset and fussy I will sing it and she calms right down
That damn harmonica!!! Musical genius hearing it just gives me the greatest feeling brightens any mood.
Nice music.

My granddaughter was just born today. I love this song!
Congratulations !
I have a great grand daughter who is almost 13 years and this has always been her song from me.
This was my
Father & Daughter dance song at my wedding. It still brings tears to my eyes. He could really
'cut a rug' as they said back in his day. We sure did that day! He's 90 years this year, I'll be 60 this Oct. He still thinks of me as his baby girl. Dad, I Love
You So Much!
THIS WAS TRULY AN AMAZING BLESSING AND A ONE OF A KIND
MASTERPIECE FOR STEVIE WONDER
WITH HIS FIRST BORN YES HIS
BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL
The day my daughter was born I played this 1000 times.
William Baglivo 8 argree

William Baglivo Wonderfully Heartwarming! From those of us who did not have a daddy, you give Respect to those who cherish their daughters!
love you, FATHERS!
I did as well - 8/1/1986
Listened to this leaving the hospital, such a great baby girl song. Penelope Paris was born 11-11-22!
Congratulations
Thanks a million!
+Garcia Bragg Beautiful!!!!
+Garcia Bragg How'd your wife stand the drive without suffering a total meltdown? I can't get through 10 seconds without my heart feeling like it's going to explode.
I played this song April 7, 1999 when my daughter was born. AnayaRhea, so appropriate!
A blind man wrote this about his new born daughter. Doesn’t get anymore beautiful than that.
Amazing Work by Steve wonders
I was born in 76 my dad used to sing this to me xxx
Literally Sitting Here Listening To This, Reminiscing About My Big Sister (Who Loved Stevie Wonder) I Just Lost To Cancer 😢..
Sorry for your loss man
Dustin Booker Thanks A Lot..I Watched Her Hold Her Own Against Almost Everything, But That Cancer Was Too Much 😔
Condolences to you
My Dad told me when he had came to the hospital, He had been listening and crying to this song on the Radio because he was going to have his first little girl! He still listens to it and everytime he does he calls his teenage daughter down and dances to it with me.
I am AMAZED that this was never released as a Single! I remember hearing this SO much on the radio it was unREAL!
Joseph. Stevie did not want the song reduced to a 3 minute radio edit so would never agree to it being a single and quite right too.
My youngest son was adopted by my wife and I. I sing it in my head with the words changed from she to he. Adoption is a gift for those reading this please consider it thank you kindly
My husband and I adopted our two lovely daughters.
What a lovely, lovely piece of music written by a [prouder than proud] first-time father* celebrating the birth of his beloved daughter. “Isn’t She Lovely”, by Stevland Hardaway Judkins (a.k.a. Stevie Wonder), was released decades ago (1976). Yet, to this day, it remains an ageless pop classic‼️ 💙🎶💜
* Since then, Stevie Wonder has fathered eight more children.
Happy 41st birthday Aisha Morris Wonder! You have indeed brought this song to a another level.
I saw him in concert 2 weeks ago and now I can't stop listening to his music
First song I thought about when my daughter was born.First time I'd cried tears of joy!
That was the first album bought when I was young. I love it. Probably Stevie Wonder's best . In 2019, my granddaughter was born. I played this song when I held her in my arms for the first time. Had tears in my eyes.
I jsut listen to all 6 minutes and 38 seconds of this masterpiece and it’s brilliant it ahve me goosebumps god bless Stevie wonder
