Honestly, this stuff does not matter. I know people who have over 300k followers who do not do any of this. People focus too much on followers. if you have over 300k followers and you get around 1000k likes on average that is 0.3% interaction which is shit. I was coming close to 2k followers and i was receiving about 100 likes per average. I blocked over 1,500 people(ghost followers and unsupportive people) I am down to about 160 followers and still get around 100 likes this is 62% interaction. It craps all over those people with a ton of followers.
I run an instagram page for my handmade jewelry business and I loved these tips. I wanted to give back by giving one of my own tips: I made a lightbox with a big cardboard box - take a box and remove the top panel, cut out windows into the two sides of the box that are on either side when you are looking into the open side of box (leave the new top and bottom panels,) tape white tissue paper onto the windows (this diffuses the light,) Cut a piece of poster paper that is long enough to slip into the box - it should cover the deepest wall of the box and the floor panel - this is your backdrop. Take two desk lamps and angle them so that they are shining through either side of the box through the tissue paper windows that you've created. I suggest using daylight bulbs for a natural clean white light look. You will only need to do minimal editing when you use the lightbox and it only costs about $20 to do it as compared to the hundreds of dollars you could spend on a professional one and the pictures are in equal quality!
To be honest: I visit accounts and like pictures that have a content I'm interested in. It doesn't matter at all to me if the pictures match in their whiteness or whatever. I follow people who have something to say and show for me, not because of their awesome editing skills...
I agree, I mean it may look pretty but I think it's just too much of a hastle to think like "ohh I love this picture that I took of myself in Paris" but I can't post it cause it doesn't match the theme of my insta page.

reality check : people will only see your picture for a second before scrolling down to the next. Same for your feed. So don't bother over editing because nobody cares as much as you think. if you want to edit and post very high quality pictures you should rather do it on a blog. just saying.
My tip is to mix up close ups and photos that have more depth to them. I'm a huge photography fan, and whenever making a collage, that Instagram feed is, basically, I try to make sure it has peaks and deeper points, I think that makes a feed more visually interesting, too.

reality check : people will only see your picture for a second before scrolling down to the next. Same for your feed. So don't bother over editing because nobody cares as much as you think. if you want to edit and post very high quality pictures you should rather do it on a blog. just saying.

My tip is to mix up close ups and photos that have more depth to them. I'm a huge photography fan, and whenever making a collage, that Instagram feed is, basically, I try to make sure it has peaks and deeper points, I think that makes a feed more visually interesting, too.
