    Great documentary! I practiced Shintaido in France in the early 90's. Really changed my life. Too bad the video doesn't load very smoothly.

    IMO it would be useful in a fight. Not for itself, but for the serenity and focus that it can bring when conbined with some other sort of martial art.

    I love this, I once experienced Shintaido.
    A true martial artist would also love this.
    Think Masahiro Oki and Takao Nakazawa.

      pleiadian13 I personally met a Brasilera who trained with Aoki sensei in Japan. She said that he would conduct midnight seminars when his students would go outdoors and practice "drawing down the light". They would all squat in formation towards the ofoduro the next day, very sore.
      My friend from Brazil was deeply spiritual and very sensitive .
      Aoki sensei's philosophy reminds me very much of Taichi, with his discussion of energy forces.
      I had a karate sensei who once asked us to tie our obis around our eyes and try to feel our opponent ( the style was Shure Ryu, Okanawan Ryu , Ksho Ryu ) . I really believe it to be true.

    There is no mention of Aikido here anywhere.

    the sounds are very use in many internal martial arts, yoga and qi gong. Shintaido is a karate shotokai more spiritual. Some exercice are the same in qi gong.

    He's good but I can attack by no intend of killing so what will he does ?

    • @DottAlessandroRosin
      @DottAlessandroRosin  10 лет назад

      he doesn't mean really TO KILL but a real intent to attack FOR REAL and no joke. But this is normal in all martial arts, if attacks arent sincere people training isn't useful

  • @DottAlessandroRosin
    @DottAlessandroRosin  15 лет назад

    Shintaido it's different from a REAL fight. It teach to obtain a big focalization, concentration and relax. In 2 shintaido practitioner all 2 feel all from the other.

    @Wakidzasi Hem but this isn't Aikido, it's...... Shintaido.

  • @ukbloke14

    He detected his ill will 4 times out of 5.
    Or maybe he just twigged that all the attacks are linear so any sideways move is a reasonable bet...

  • @DottAlessandroRosin
    @DottAlessandroRosin  16 лет назад

    it isn't a fake...... it's the rule in shintaido. Shintaido is similar to shotokai karate and chinese qi gong or yoga.

  • @0avatara0
    @0avatara0 15 лет назад

    that's right =) even ancient chinese masters told that you don't have to fight your enemy to defeat him, you have to be your enemy to understand him and learn what you need to win a battle, even against yourself. if it isn't that way, where's the essence of martil arts?

  • @Simalacrum
    @Simalacrum 15 лет назад

    @Goldvellius erm... yes, I already know this lol, I've pretty much lived with Shintaido all my life :P
    I just think that this documentary portrayed Shintaido as a much more military thing than it really is

  • @Simalacrum
    @Simalacrum 15 лет назад

    Aoki sensei happens to be my godfather, he gave me the name "Sho" ^^
    I believe this video is slightly misleading though, cause Shintaido has very little to do with violence of any sorts... its more about spiritual experience (though its not a religion in any way) than trying to defeat an enemy

    Maybe, a neutral referee to score the 'before' and 'after' the waterfall misogi would have been a better way to validate/invalidate the premise?

  • @DottAlessandroRosin
    @DottAlessandroRosin  16 лет назад

    il tai chi e' un metodo di combattimento esattamente come il kali. non e' un "semplice" yoga o ginnastica di rilassamento o training autogeno... lo shintaido e' sempre un metodo interno. ed il principio dell'anticipo che cerca di sviluppare si sviluppa in tantissimi stili di combattimento.

    Sensing an attack, yes. Controlling people at a distance, hell no.

    shot87 it isn't hypnosis :-) but for sure it's completly useless against anyone else from dojo. Only your sense are higly focused. When you think (THINK AND FEEL sensation) to receive something from the other then you react. They don't want go to fight, they wanna only do training and stop. And if you have read what i've written before "Shintaido it's different from a REAL fight.

    The narrator is just a BBC hack who knows nothing about these things. He may describe it as 'thought power' and you may choose to hang on to those words, but what Aoki is doing in the video is different from that. He is demonstrating the use of ki and how the body can be liberated to access this source of power and the benefits that it brings.
    You said that you are only referring to what is said and shown in the video. You may not have noticed but there was a waterfall in the video!

    Do you know what is it Irimi?!? there isn't magic here. The same sensei say, it's a micro energy. this "energy" exist only becouse uke and tori are focused in practice in that moment. If you do in real situation with people not focused then not work. SHIN TAI DO

  • @royaljames
    @royaljames 16 лет назад

    The fact you use the words 'thought power' suggest your lack of experiential knowledge of this type of practice. Look at the difference in the guy's body before and after entering the waterfall. Before he was tense and in his mind, after he was more relaxed and in his body. This enabled his ki to flow and he could work more effectively with his partner as a result.

    quello che vedi e' vero e provandolo si capisce che non c'e' neanche la minima pretesa del paranormale anzi forse puo' sembrare anche fin troppo naturale .... il kali non mi sembra una disciplina interna come il tai chi... sbaglio forse?!? Significa forse che per te anche il tai chi e' una pagliacciata?!?

  • @DottAlessandroRosin
    @DottAlessandroRosin  16 лет назад

    se non pratichi e non conosci neanche altri metodi simili non puoi capire... ce ne sono tanti.... forse pratichi shotokan a livello sportivo oppure qualche SPORT da combattimento.

    What the hell are you speaking about little boy ?
    Respect ancestors, respect roots and tradition.
    Aoki, worked different Martial Art during 25years, he created Shintaido with many Masters in different martial art ; Then you're coming, giving your judgement but who are you boy ? This is insane.

  •  15 лет назад

    Developing sixth sense feeling only people with sixth sense? What is it for? Shintaido seems like a cult to me. In this video there is nothing what wouldn't be Derren Brown able to do. I can do this myself with a little practice with focus and my friends without any waterfall and without doing weird wannabe martial art moves concurrently with a vowel scream.
    That's just my point of view.

  • @DottAlessandroRosin
    @DottAlessandroRosin  17 лет назад

    Non è magia, e funziona solo con i praticanti stessi. Entrambi i praticanti si condizionano con esercizi che aumentano di parecchio le percezione. Esempio stupido: io sento caldo alla mano....se avessi affinato i miei sensi sentirei bruciarla. E' ovvio che non brucia. Qui sta la bravura del praticante.

      Isn't a fake but a training, an art form where you must react following your sensations and not ignoring and contrasting them to win the fight
