A popular saying in china: No spicy in meal, No happiness in life...(无辣不欢)
can you go to Chongqing noodle from the presenter if you the one. www.goodfood.com.au/eat-out/news/if-you-are-the-one-host-opens-mr-meng-chongqing-gourmet-noodle-restaurant-in-melbourne-20170522-gwa2hw
I am glad you are presenting this video, as a Chinese from a different country it is highly respected that you have made every effort to explore culture. You are not only able to speak Mandarin fluently, but also have the support from your parents that really builds your self esteem through encouragement and education. I did not have this privilege in my younger years and am happy to see that the future generation is supporting their children in every positive way. Bless your parents to have such an open mind and relationship with you, I was not as fortunate because of the generation gap. I will say that the sons, daughters and any future generation is getting the same support now as you do from your parents and also your friends. The mindset from the older generation, which is me has changed and I see it exactly like your parents do.
Teach us how to ultimately apply Chinese Passport, NOT VISA, Chinese Passport as a foreigner in your next video!
Blondie & Parents, I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your being open to and exploring Chinese food as best you can during these times. As a Chinese person raised outside of China, this channel has been a wonderful way to explore China & Chinese regional cuisines which are pretty much non-existent in Western countries. I appreciate the efforts to identify, explain, and cook them. Along with the explanations that define and highlight certain regional cuisines. Thank you for sharing them!
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that ❤️❤️❤️ motivates me to keep going and try harder!
Got to love a spicy noodle! 😂
I did SLC!😄👍
Try Chinese BBQ next time, I think you will love it.
Glad to hear you're team mala tongue!
You are an awesome dad, Blondie is lucky to have such supporting and amazing parents!
Amy I love you so much! You sparked my love and interest for China and Shenzhen and I am learning Chinese very well now! I have also made many native Chinese friends who help me learn about the culture and I often speak to them about your videos! Actually your videos always brightened my mood when I was in high school and stressed or upset! Thank you so much for making these videos they mean so much to me! Your bright and positive personality and smile is so infectious!💗💗💗 I love you!!
This comment makes me so happy!!!! Absolutely means the world to me to know I can put a smile on your face and that my videos are making a positive impact! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ sending you lots of virtual hugs!
You have amazing parents - It is so cool that they are joining you on your culinary adventures - and I love your dad's philosophy on fusion ❤️

Have you decided on what to do with your Australian citizenship mate? Nah don't answer. Just kidding. 😂
Hi Hazza, I watch your cool China too!
@@Time4Peace Thanks for watching!
Waiting for your new song
When Anthony Bourdain visited China couple years ago, he said, “you stay in China for five years and only scratch the surface of its food culture.” Miss his TV show: No Reservation. 😢😢😢
I would 100% agree with that statement! The more dishes I try, the more I realise I have to still discover and understand about the various cuisines of China!
@@BlondieinChina You will probably need more than a lifetime to consume all the food that China has to offer. :) To put it in perspective, about 30 years ago, I browsed thru a cookbook on Chinese cuisine written by a western lady and in her preface, she mentioned that there were (at that point of time) at least 80,000 dishes. Over 3 decades or so, the number obviously must have exceeded 100,000. Depending on the number of dishes you try a day, it will take you long long time to try them all. You do your math.
Your videos have this lovely vibe I am so involved in them. I am in Xi'an now I will go to local restaurants and ask for Chongqing Xiao Main. Love from a Pakistani living in China!
I am surprised that there are so many beautiful Chinese dishes in Australia
I lived in Chongqing for 4 years. This video bring me back to the old days.
Amy I have been following your channel for nearly one year. I am so impressed for what you have done to your audience and also being an active media in between China & Australia. Thumbs up 👍🏻 BTW. I also like your dad. He is so funny!😙
2020 was a rat of a year. 😂 Your dad’s sense of humor is legend-dairy!
hahahhahahah
i see your sense of puns is also 来真的ary

“You Can’t Sleep Until You’ve Seen Us Try Chongqing Noodles”
Done, loved it, off to bed now! :D
Yassss! I need you as my video title consultant!
I’m surprised how well your parent accepting Chinese cuisine! Impressed
What a great family. These family excursions are my favorite videos on your channel. I think your subs/fans would seriously pay to eat with your Mum & Dad. They should really consider this as a side hustle after the pandemic is over. LOL!
Hahahah great idea!!! Family food tours
This was just such a fun and educational video. So many great dishes! So interesting to learn about the adjustment of the spices. Now I’m hungry! 😋
Thanks so much John!!!
One thing about Sydney is that it is such a diverse metropolitan city. Love it. Actually, same goes for Melbourne.
Yep, agree! Very easy to eat food from all over the world here and in Melbourne
@@BlondieinChina Thank you for taking us through these food adventures.
Amy your chinese and english subtitle help my chinese alot hihih thanks, and your dad is really cool :)
So happy to hear the subtitles help Aiya!
Great parents !!!!
So loving and open minded!❤❤❤
Mum and dad, what a lovely young lady you’ve raised. I appreciate the openness to other cultures.
Absolutely love your videos Amy!! ❤️ I love how you and your fam are so open minded in trying different foods. I hope more westerners can learn from you guys! 😄
Excellent editing Blonde! Your timing is always spot on. Great pace. You really know how to keep it interesting. You have developed a real talent. And I'm in the post biz and very impressed.
Thumbs up for all the parent videos and your family Christmas. Good people!
Makes me want get out of the crazy states and move to Australia or New Zealand 😀
Thank you so much!! It's amazing to hear that feedback from an expert - makes me feel like I'm improving! I recently got a new camera so I'm hoping to increase my production quality in 2021 - stay tuned! Stay safe!
Love it, I recommended this Chanel to few friends who are Chinese. And also love ur dad! He is cool! Ur mums is so original! And ur dad is hilarious!
You mentioned 2021 being the Year of the Rat. Not exactly, Jan 2021 is actually the tail end of the Year of the Rat. The Chinese horoscope is dictated by the Chinese Lunar Calendar, not the Gregorian calendar. So, come the first day of Chinese New Year on 12 Feb 21, we will usher in the Year of the Ox.
Your parents are truly amazing and you are lucky to have them! I love how open they are of trying new things and exploring different cultures. No matter if I show my parents Japanese, Korean or Chinese cuisine, it's all "Asian food" to them and they have no interest in learning further. Same with my language learning. I'm currently at an A2 level in Korean and my mom the other day asked me "What does this say?" And held up a box with Mandarin writing 😅 I love my parents, but I think you are truly blessed to have such open-minded and good-natured parents. It is a joy to see. Lovely video, cheers 🧡
Your parents are super cute!! Love how you take them to try all these dishes 🥰
hello Amy, I have been watching your videos for a long time, but this is the first time I put a comment. I like you so much and I love your parents a lot. Your sweetest mum is so open-minded and lovely, especially when she was trying all the new Chinese food, I can literally tell that she loves it from her face and comments. And no doubt your dad is also a very funny and warm person. Always keep tuned to your next video.
Amy, I love you all video about Chinese food. Your compassion for the Chinese food even more than me a native Chinese "chi huo".
Dong Fang Shu Ye (Oriental Leaf) is literally my fav tea drink ever! Lots of people in China actually aren’t big fans of sugar-free tea drinks. Glad you love it as much as I do!
Love your supportive parents!
I'd definitely SLC! Amy and her parents are amazing! Amy's Chinese language and interpretation skills are superb. And mum and dad's observation and memory are formidable! What a lovely family here!
I love these videos! Learning a lot about Chinese cuisine.
if we had more people like you and your family, there'd be so much love and happiness in the world. To understand how to appreciate different cultures in such a respectful way,... As a Chinese Canadian, I'm really thankful for how you portray China and ask that people not be afraid to try our food.
Thank you,Amy,for focusing on introducing Chinese culture and Chinese food to the rest of the world, your every vlog is full with optimistic mood and enthusiasm, just make me fell very comfortable. Jiayou Amy!
My mum is from a town that used to belong to Sichuan but is now part of Chongqing municipality, and I love that you are evoking all these culinary childhood memories from what my grandparents and mum made❤️Can you believe they serve 重庆小面 for breakfast too😄Have you ever tried the different pickled vegetables like 泡菜? Last time I was in Chongqing and tried 油茶 (another specialty) and this cooling dessert, I saw that you had just posted a picture at that famous bridge near where I was eating with my uncle and aunt : )
Amy! Great video as always! I'm drooling during these videos.
When travel opens up, you need to do a Parents-visit China adventure and do a Chongqing Episode - I'd probably enjoy watching your parents open up to hotpot, take the gondola, try all street foods and even have them partake in the old-fashioned evening center square, outdoor dancing as many 'laotaipo' love doing over there!
When I was young, I remember having a friend over my home for meals on occassions.
He was white and everytime we served him steamed rice, he just wants to add a ton of soy sauce over his rice.
It just completelyed baffled my family.
When I grew older, I would visit Indian restaurants and ask for a huge bowl of Raita and just add all that over my basmati rice and that would just baffle the Indian server.
Life is great.
It’s so excited that to see your family or parents to be in your videos nowadays more often, to accept challenges enjoying different foods, and family time of course
Just found out about this channel and i'm binge watching already.
So happy to hear that! ❤️❤️
I am a fan of your parents, love watching your post and enjoy seeing your parent’s reaction! Especially your mom👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Such fun watching you and your family enjoying trying Chinese foods!
This video just made my day, cause I'm a Chinese and everything from your video is so familiar to me!
Don’t watch this video when you are desperately hungry.
I watched, then I cooked instant noodle at 02:35AM.
As long as it satisfies your tummy and soul, it is still good noodles
My gf and I love your videos. Keep up the great work! :)
That's awesome! Thanks for watching guys :):)
面(mian) is usually used only on wheat noddles , others (green bean, rice, potatoes et) usually called 粉(fen)
Excellent explanation 👍
Chonqing was part of Sichuan not long ago thats why the food and dialect are basically identical
SLC, Dad always have his contribution Happy and Healthy new year
Blondie's fortunate to have parents who are open-minded and adventurous and willing to try different kinds of food with her.
you can also buy that iced tea from some miracle supermarket stores in sydney
Amy, can you do a crash course/summaries of all the provinces in China? I would love to learn a few fun facts about each province in China.
That's a cool idea! I will have a think of how to best present a video like that!
@@BlondieinChina How about tagging each province with its signature dishes and the best sights? That may take more than one video, though.
I love seeing you parents with you on your Chinese food adventures!!!! 👍 My 8 year old and I are fans of your parents! And you Amy, of course...
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
*your parents not you parents... smdh
Xiaomian is the BEST!!! One should go and get one at least onece in a life time.
Go Chinese desserts! Most western people around me do NOT like sweet congee (八宝粥)or sticky rice cake (糯米糍)I really hope you guys can try it and let our western know what you think❤️
We in Europe they eat sweet pudding rice with vanilla. It’s not a western thing it’s a Aussie thing they don’t like congee.
Absolutely love the videos you make with your parents. You’re so cute with them 🥰
I’ve loved the jelly break very much since I was a kid ,it’s sweet with some rose aroma , miss it so much
its really enjoying watching you and your family having all kind of chinese food.
omg i love your parents so much. they are soo awesome!!!
kudos for the Jasmine tea, that is my favorite as well XD
I feel your mother impress with your skills......lovely parents. I love chongqing noodle...i just cant take the spicy.
Jelly break hahahha I'm gonna use that phrase from now on! You have such an amazing family by the way!!
Wow the food looks so good! Thanks for the video! Will go and try it soon :)
Spicy food is addictive it brings you to another level. It is great to see you and your lovely parents enjoy your food so much.
I agree! The more spicy food I eat, the more spice I need in my life
Food looks lush love the colours. Hurry up lockdown and covid to calm down. Really want to go to Sydney to try these out, be awesome to bump into yourself and your family. Love your energy and personality 😀
Your enthusiasm is infectious!
Thanks for watching!
You can eat Chongqing noodles 重庆小面. in the VIP lounge of Chongqing airport :) And you see all those people in their Gucci and LVs lining for noodles. .. : P
或這里有一個 cut.ibibles.net/
Wow I love seeing all the exploring/travelling and tasting food! And how awesome that your parents don't mind coming along with you too:))!! Having the best of both worlds, what a life!!!
I AM STARVED!!!! it is 11:35 PM in Canada!!!!
I think your mom and dad each should bring their own mic for the upcoming fantastic vids like this one.
Kong Bao chicken is actually from Beijing and usually considered as signature recipe of Beijing dish. And I can stop laughing when Blondie said: they are on the next level in Chongqing. Obviously you have had the authentic street noodle. Thank you for everything u did.
You have changed my mind towards noodles/China dishes!! Not a noodle person even tho I’m Asian myself but god they look AMAZING and I can’t wait to visit China one day!! 😍 Gave my British friend some ice packed chrysanthemum tea and they told me it taste like pee!!!
This drink is called Oriental Leaf(东方树叶)I like it,but so many people call it the worst drink in the China, because it taste made in the yesterday and not fresh(隔夜茶)
Some of the combinations like “gongbao chicken + noodles” cannot be found anywhere else. Interesting 👍
Yeah! First time seeing this! It was fun to try
enough to speak wild,very good
jasmine tea with no sugar, one of my favorites tooooooooooooo! Easily addicted.
I have always enjoyed watching your culinary adventures with your family. I wish I can be in Sydney to experience it myself!
What a lovely family!
omg, that jasmine tea is my favorite of all time!!! It is so good
I had Chongqing style street noodles few weeks ago for first time... delicious... and I am Chinese of ancestory... ha ha... but grew up Cantonese... I enjoy trying exploring the different regional cuisines.. some are delicious...some are an aquired taste.. ha ha.
A nice and supportive family 👍
The scientific theory says that a person who speaks very fast is very intelligent, thank you for sharing the chinese food and culture with the world!
March 2022 and we are still waiting for the Chinese dessert video here Amy :)
Nice episode!
Chongqing xiaomian currently is very very popular in China, you can find it in almost every China city. I am in Japan, I really miss it.
Another great video. And the parents are just so game for anything 👍👍
Thank you so much Jess!!!
So cool u did this video today, my idol is gn to promote chongqing delicacies today too, what coincidence
Hi Amy, I think you can find jasmine tea drinks in TONGLI Chinese Supermarket, which is just on the 2nd floor of Burwoos Plaza.
I watch this video after supper. Now I am hungry again. Damn.
The cold no sugar jasmine tea is my favourite too.
chinese desserts are very underrated, unlike in the western they are not packed with sugar but still have a sweet flavour. i'm craving now 😫
Great video, i love Chongqing noodle
Haha, it’s a cold cup of tea... can’t argue that
Amy, I think your boyfriend will love the schnitzel noodles! He is probably drooling in Germany over these noodles.
Wish you could upload more videos every week so I can watch during dinner times. haha 😄
Imagine getting a heart from Amy..
Here you go Kenny! ❤️
You can get those Jasmine tea leaves from most Asian grocery shops and make yourself at home.
