    R15 is indeed super reliable. My brother has one (yellow V1 2010 model) which I crashed very badly several times and it still works perfectly fine. The mileage hasn't dropped, there is no problem with the engine as well. Recently I took it to 17000 feet up into the Himalayas. No issue. The only problem is, it has become very difficult to get some parts. Some parts can be borrowed from V2, but even that is becoming difficult these days. So the yellow R15 V1is going to retire in our garage.

    Back when I was in 12th grade, one of my friends had an R15 V2 in green and black. I used to ask him for a quick spin, but I always ended up returning after an hour 😅😅. One day, he accidentally left the key in the bike, and someone stole it from his apartment. We filed a missing report, but nothing came of it. So, for the next 3-4 months, we searched for a used R15 V2 in the same green and black color. Finally, we found one for around ₹85,000. From that point on, everything felt the same again for me 😅😅. I must say, it was one of the best moments of my life-it felt like I was riding something truly special.

      This depends on you Rohith. Most riders end up riding with the elbows locked and arms straight. They don’t realise that they’ve turned off their torso muscles, the steering won’t work well and the shoulders, back and wrists will shortly hurt when they sit like that. Since many do it, many complaints. See how Shumi’s sitting. It’s extreme because he likes his forearms to be parallel to the ground (as often as possible and almost always in the footage). His abdominal muscles are working so arms are relaxed, no weight on forearms… this is quite relaxed outside of the bend forward… which he’s gotten used to over the years and doesn’t notice the strain anymore.

    I had to sell off my Yamaha R15S after enjoying it for almost 5 years in 2021 because by then I was using it to mostly commute on fairly bad roads in the city and was barely ever going over 40 kmph. On top of that there was a post pandemic shortage of tyres from MRF and the 90/80 front were not available so due to lack of knowledge I ended up upsizing the tyres a size because those were the only ones available, which made the suspension feel even harder. The day the buyer rode off with my bike, I cried on the side of the road. To this day, I regret having sold that bike off. I had bought the bike after having ridden the first gen NS200 for a good 5 years and had decided to move to the R15 because it looked brilliant, the tank recess just fit my legs so well and it was smooth and the brakes, my god those brakes inspired confidence like the NS just couldn't. The R15 never disappointed, on fronts that it had promised it will do well on. It just isn't meant for poorly finished roads. What makes the regret feel worse is till this day, there's not a bike in our market yet that fits my checklist in that budget quite like the R15 did. It was truly an engineering marvel and I'm just glad I got to experience that in my younger days.

    I'm new to this, I used to see R15s during school and college days it looks so stunning. Recently I was planning to get a new bike and I thought why not R15 I was comparing various models, the pulsars, Apaches and more but still, R15 stood out, I was sold, but then I stumbled upon some videos where they mentioned how it’s not value for money, how the tires are bad. How the riding position is not comfortable. How you can get much more for the exact same price and how the V4 is having milage issues and more, so I'm confused.

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  2 месяца назад +1

      It depends on whether you know what you're getting yourself into @rahul_spawar. If you think that for ₹2 lakh you should get the most value for your money, then the R15 is certainly not it. It's also not the most comfortable bike for everyday use as well. But, if you are looking to improve your riding in a serious manner and one day want to ride at a track, the R15 is most certainly the right bike for that at its price. So, think about why you want it and take it from there.

      A quick Shifter is a very nice feature to have, traction control is important since a beginner will ring open the throttle and might wheelie it. This has happened to me twice since I am a beginner, dual channel ABS is a nice feature too. Aluminium swingarm and a liquid cooled 155CC engine with VVA tech is also a pretty unique experience. So it is worth the money.
