- The documentary highlights the impact, achievements and the results of the 2-year project known as Community Action to End Child trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children.
The project aims to create child trafficking & sexual exploitation of children, referral, response and reporting mechanisms that are effectively operating, providing a protective shield for children and reducing their vulnerability.
From the national to community level, a significant amount of work has been done in the last two years to prevent child trafficking and child sexual exploitation. These include; the establishment of child protection regulatory frameworks - for example, the Napak Child Protection Ordinance, the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, and sub-county by-laws on child protection, set up of the Napak Religious Leader’s Forum, establishment of child rights clubs in schools to create awareness on prevention, response, reporting of CT and SEC cases, training of child protection champions, law enforcement officials and key stakeholders, provision of skills training to survivors to equip them with skills for sustainability and prevent re-trafficking, rescuing, rehabilitating and reintegrating children back to the community and protecting children at risk of child trafficking and sexual exploitation.
*The Community Action Project is implemented by Terre des Hommes Netherlands and Dwelling Places with funding from the U.S. Department of State Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons through the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery (GFEMS).
