Hello Everybody!! This is GamerGar and welcome to another Stardew Valley video!!
Today I'm playing 100 days but without spending money.
The only exception been the competition of bundles to allow for the dessert unlock.
No tool upgrades/backpack upgrades basically anything that involves money is not aloud.
My current goal is to make a huge cosy community where anyone can join and relax regardless of race, gender our political/religious views.
Lets aim for 100k subscribers and share the love all around the world!

You should really get into the habit of when you complete a mine level with a chest reward, to go back up the elevator and drop off stuff in your chest, especially when you have only one line of inventory. That way you can save up items and sell them to Marlon.
There is no elevator in the Skull Caverns. Once you leave you have to start over.

I would've definitely made an exception for the backpack upgrades. I don't think anybody would blame you for getting them! 😂

when i fish for trash i always fish in the pond at the bathhouse/spa. the only things in there are trash and paintings, it is a super quick way to get trash and you are also near the trash bin for linus his quest :) this only works in spring, summer and fall

One time I went there for trash without usual Linus quest active and I caught like 10 paintings and maybe 1 joke cola in a row when I had limited time and low amounts of max energy. It was outrageous, I quickly moved to a 100 floor of the mines 🤪
This was super fun to watch and hopefully you had lots of fun playing it. By the way, if you choose the forest farm you get mixed seeds from fiber every single day, I usually have about 70 seeds on the 1st day of summer just from the fiber on the farm, and it helps leveling up farming faster

You should do the challenge where you can only make money via the trash can!! You would do such a good job and make it so interesting to watch

But selling things found in the trash has too many limitations i think.. not much room to grow and expand to make money beyond random chance (altho I do think 100 days as linus sounds like a lot of fun!!) I originally meant a challenge ive seen a couple of times where you can only make money by trashing things with your own trash can!! Like after you've upgraded it once and get a fractions cashback, of course with further upgrades and such. Just seems like it'll have more room for growth like being able to grow crops, wine and jam things and make money from foragables and fish still!! Anyways I loved the video and at this point you know im a long time channel lover of yours too. Take care !! :)

Might be a bit late but the basic sprinklers are worth the investment early on as they save you so much time and energy. Especially for a challenge like this where you lack the ability to get food for energy.
I really enjoyed this! Gar has the best challenge ideas, every video is so different from the last and keeps stardew valley interesting

Yet another great challenge! Is there a villager that gives you the non-mixed seed crops? Like the green bean? It'd be neat to see if through friendship (which is free) you could do the whole CC.
ah, looked a little more into it and nope, even with remixed bundles, you'll end up with the animal bundle (you can only get one item - wool from Emily), the Fish Farmer bundle (You can only get one item - squid ink from the mines), or the garden bundle (can't get any as a gift). Oh well! Still such a fun challenge you made here. Can't wait to see what's next!

I can't understand how people can do these, when I literally can't get through two seasons without starting a new farm.
For me it's because the challenge is always unique so it's fun to see how far you can get within 100 days of the game 😀

It's a cool challenge, but 100 days in stardew make not much sense to me, especially because a year is just 112 days. Would have more liked for a 1-year challenge.

Great video as always GG! I just wanted to take the time to give a lil comment: thank you for making the day counter in the top left smaller! It seems weird, but I get super distracted by graphics and text on the counter, and it covers so much of the screen like the floor in the mines/SC!

I enjoy playing stardew but I especially enjoy it when a challenge makes the game very hard because it forces you into specific playstyles :😀

This video, when compared to your 5 mil in one year video, sums up the adage of "You got to spend money to make money" hahaha (although you made wayyyy more than I could imagine in first year without spending anything other than the vault bundle!)

Awesome video! ❤ It would be an even harder challenge to see what you can make without ever leaving the farm. How long would it take to make $1,000,000 if you never left the farm? Which farm map would be the best choice for money making if you are a hermit?
Hermit runs have been done - I think Waligug did it, maybe Seanie Dew too. They tend to get a bit boring.
I think it would have to be either the beach farm, because crates or the forest farm, because forageables

@GamerGar I know they have been done, I've done it myself and probably seen 7 or 8. Switchblade is beyond year 12, with the goal of never ever leaving. He chose 4 corners and made 10 million by year 10 which was his goal. I just thought it would be a challenge for you to play differently, no fishing, no mines and no tea saplings. But it might not get you the most views.
@GamerGar correction Switch blade is in year 16 and after year 10 started working on collecting 999 of each item he has access to. I an definitely not suggesting you do exactly what he is doing, it's his thing, but I thought you might have a unique approach to the tough challenge of making money with only what is available on a single farm.
Where did you get all the clay? Aside from all the fiber seeds you made in fall, during winter you had a stack of clay that was 150+.
Unless you spend time clay farming, and never mention it, this seems impossible.
Clay is very common down in the mines on those big open floors. Especially if you start using bombs :D
If you spend the day down in the mines using bombs you can get lots of clay :D and other super useful items.
@GamerGarYT It is no more common there than above ground, given the way the resource spawns. Also the sandy patches where it spawns are not everywhere and tend to be small.
If you say so, we can go with that, but it does seem incredibly unlikely to have such a huge amount of it without specifically farming it.

@@darkapostate8358 yeah, so? It's not hard to get 300 clay in 84 days, that's less than 4 a day.

Upon rewatching, I wonder if you underutilized the bombs. Like in the regular mines, when you were mining for gold, I think that mining for copper or iron first (especially iron because those levels also have lots of coal) and then use the bombs on the gold levels would be quicker, because the gold takes so much longer to mine with the pickaxe.
I assume you can't remove the big stumps, meteor, and big boulders on tge farm with bombs? That's disappointing.

lol I find that the materials required to make basic sprinklers don't justify the cost for what you get :P
@@GamerGarYT I’m lazy 😂 I usually crank out 15-20 for my strawberries on a standard playthrough. Watering is my least favourite farm chore

If you had planted the mixed seeds a few times in late spring/early summer instead of the forage-ables you could have leveled up farming faster to get the sprinklers to give you more time to harvest fiber.
Also, i believe that you could finish /been close to finishing the CC

To be honest it never occurred to me until you mentioned it so I would say that it would be an expectation and for what its worth most of the time I use warp totems to go to the dessert :D

I don't think you could've gotten the coal nor the iron needed with your pickaxe since your food didn't decrease nor did ur energy bar
The only thing fishy here is you passive agressively accusing him of cheating. If you had paid attention, you'd know where the bombs come from.
Same goes for the season crops. Have you never played SDV? Because you clearly don't know basic things.
Check around the twenty minute mark for the answer to one of your "questions".

If you notice on day 84, which i have the questions on
U notice he has spent over 80 staircases from 7am to 9:30 am
And somehow the items got in the video without the number of spicy eels decreasing
Thats why im saying there isn't enough time for him to mine iron or gold or kill serpents for bombs

I've got 100 day idea for you. 100 days of wood 🪵 challenge. Only things made of wood. Can craft other things if they are required to make the wooden items, and only items from the wood can be sold.
