    These guides are really good. Returning player after several years. Going to give this class a try as I heard they have the best sustain.

    I've played GW2 a long time ago and stopped. Decided to return and try out the Renegade because I've heard it's one of the best solo builds for PvE...and it delivers.
    It has good damage, good sustain, very easy to use, simple and straightforward, and mobility is solid too. Definitely a profession I'd recommend to someone new.
    Shortbow is the way to go, your main weapon. As secondary, you can go dual swords if you like some direct damage or a mace + an offhand if you're investing heavily into condition build...and Renegade is viable as both.
    Shortbow 5 is a great opener in fights, it allows you to place the Shortbow 4, no.3 skill is strong, no.2 is a filler, autoattack is ok, nothing special.
    My favorite Renegade skill is Darkrazor, the daze it inflicts saved my ass countless times, it's a good enemy bar breaker and it grants Stability and breaks stuns. Icerazor is very nice for damage. Razorclaw is meh. The elite is more of a panic button, pop it when shit hits the fan (if you have enough energy).
    Kala's Fervor is great mechanic and has a lot of synergy with your traits, giving you a very high Might and Fury uptime for some good damage. Having all that Might and crit at your disposal actually makes a hybrid power + condi build viable, as you will be hitting hard enough even with condition gear.
    All in all, strong recommendation for an open world build or a build for newcomers.

      Thank you for the comment, a lot of really useful information there! I must say that I didn't expect to like the Renegade as much as I do 😊 I agree that it's a great class that more people should try out!

    well done :) i really like these videos. They are going to help me choose a class to play. Question, is the Elite spec always better then the base class?

    • @HeroicFlamingo
      @HeroicFlamingo  3 года назад

      That's great to hear! 😃 There are some builds that are excellent that utilise the base class but pretty much all meta classes use the elite specs so if you're not using one, you will likely be at a disadvantage for endgame content 😃

      From a pure PvP perspective (haven't touched PvE in a while) the core specs are absolutely viable for most classes as well. Core guardian for example procides top tier support (probably the best support currently) while core necromancer has one (technically even multiple) of the strongest condi builds out there. However, feel free to just try your favorite build out yourself. You can enter the PvP lobby right after you finish the tutorial for your character and have no disadvantage to max level players since the 'normal' gear doesn't apply for PvP. Instead, everyone has top gear and all traits available to them straight away.

    Condition or power? Which plays better with renegade?

    are you only allowed to have 1 elite specialization on a character?

    • @HeroicFlamingo
      @HeroicFlamingo  3 года назад

      You can have both elite specs on a character, you will just need to farm the Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns maps to get all of the hero points 😊

      @@HeroicFlamingo I agree but there are way better set-ups if you wish to improve. Come on...f1 keys?!? If you have to take your left hand off your strafe/dodge keys, you already lost. If you have a decent mouse, all your movement skills can be set to your right-hand(left if left-handed mouse) making room for a better key selection with your left for skills. Then of course there are macros. Of course, as you say, it is opinion-based. Personally, I use q,w,e,s,x for the 5 weapon skills. tab to switch weapon sets. 1,2,3,4 for my Mage element selections. (Mouse is a death-adder and red-dragon 580? keyboard. Sorry if I offended you, I am an old-school gamer going way back in MMOs but new to Guild Wars 2.

      I totally understand what you're saying but this is a video showing off the basics of this elite spec and it wouldn't be very helpful if I was showing it all off with non-standard key bindings!
