I replaced the wings control rods (4). They use a set screw setup, which will inevitably loosen. The tail fins also have this. Also, secure the horizontal stabilizer, it moves in the slot (tape/glue it).

Great plane, FMS definitely knocks it out of the park with their r&d and production of these birds. After all that I simply don't understand why they have to stick with foam hinges on the control surfaces, seems like it would be minimal cost on their end for such a significant upgrade.

What's the disadvantage of foam hinges?

FMS call this an asw 17. It's very semi scale ish and why do they insist on putting the registration on the top. It goes below the wing. Would be nice if you could add extension wing tips to narrow and make the wing look more accurate.

well, picked one up. Nice video. Hope it at least thermals so-so. It's heavy for its size but still might do ok. If nothing else it's a nice sport glider.

where you buy the liner (on the floor the airplane) to replace the velcro to hold the battery?

I have information on which colors of vinyl trim would be appropriate for the FMS ASW-17... TOPQ4102 Monokote "International Orange" and TOPQ4106 "Insignia Blue" which I believe can be purchased through "Horizon Hobby"

Or you could use a sharpie magic marker to stripe the plane any way you want. I used a magnum sharpie in red to do The entire upper glider a few years ago. Used a black magnum sharpie to do the stripes on the bottom of the wings and horizontal stabilizer. There was never going to be an orientation problem that way!

On my maiden flight it had a hard crash because the stabilizer settings where reversed. Yes I know that is just stupid of me. Amazingly the fuselage was damage free both wings fine except for the locking system, internal pins broken off. Seeing the plane did a roll after hand launch and really hit hard one of the spares where badly bent.
What really is annoying That FMS did not make the wing so you could replace the locks, if you do not want to use tape or other ways of holding the wing in your fuselage, you will have to buy new wings, which cost around $100 and come without servo's wow amazing, And hardly any parts for this plane, and when you do find a store that sells parts they are never in stock.
Its a great plane but the service of FMS needs major improvement, parts wise

Nice but id doubt it would actually be much use as a thermal glider..More of a sport/slope glider.. My 2.5m all balsa glider weighs half as much as this and that could actually do with being a bit lighter..

It's not a big deal, almost nothing gets in there... it just keeps the ESC cool & ventilates the battery:)

The only thing I don't like about the glider is the compressed styrofoam hinges.
I'm going to cut off all the control surfaces and put in proper actual hinges

I have a question ! In the box whe have a bag with two pushrods and four screws , I notices one pushrod is a little bit bigger than the other one ! I want to know where I have to put the biggest one ! On the ruder or stabiliser ! Thank you ! 💙👍✈️

I have my model stored right now where I cannot get at it. However just Install the horizontal stabilizer and then look at the distance between the servo horn and the flight control surface horn and one will be longer and 1 will be shorter.
