Great video! Recently, if I'm playing red and white goes with the single corner, I like to play 11-15 22-18, 15x22 25x18, 12-16 29-25 then 10-14. I found this line in Moiseyev's book and have scored many wins because white can easily overplay the center.
Hey Richard! Great to hear from you as always! Yes, the 10-14 line (the Anne Gray) is also very good. I always felt like the 9-13 Flora Temple line was more natural, but you're absolutely right the 10-14 has many good points.
Thanks , i am playing onlline all the time and after quarantine i have championship and those tips really help me , i just started watching your videos keep going , and thank u 💜💜💜
Thank you very much the compliment and feedback! I know this hasn't been an easy year for many of us, but I'm glad my videos are helping improve your checkers game!
Thank you -- I appreciate kind words! There are many other great players, including those that specialize in this particular opening. Do you play online? If so, let me know!
After 23m29 you call the position after 21....18x9 with black (or red) to move a solid draw. (Position: white: checkers on 9, 23, 26 and 30 / black on 7, 10, 12 and 21). But suppose black moves 22.10-15, 9-6 23.15-19, 23x16. 24.12x19, 26-23 25.19x26, 30x23 26.21-25, 6-2. 27.7-11, 23-19 28.25-30, 2-7 white wins a checker and gets a second King. What did black do wrong?
Thanks for the comment! George is OK, however, his wife unfortunately passed away a few years ago, and he has not made any videos since. I hope he will start publishing videos again!
@@azcheckers Thanks you so much....your videos are legendary material, give us more variations of the single corner...If possible finish all of them...I think it's the most Basic opening in checkers... Awesome videos bro, good work
@@tahiraabdul1701 Thank you very much! I'm not sure it's possible to go over all of the variations within the Single Corner, but I'll definitely go over some additional lines of play. I am not an expert in the opening, so I might bring in some additional voices to talk through it. Thanks again!
@@tahiraabdul1701 I feel for him, too, and I appreciate you saying that. My plan is to continue to publish at least one video per week, and add in a live stream maybe monthly. Anything I can do to support this great game and its players!
Play the game up to here. B - 5 - 7 - 10 - 12 - 17 - 20 - 23. W - 14 - 24 - 26 - 27 - 30 - 32. At this point you recommend the 27-18 recapture but not 26-19. Now i see why. After 26-19.....17-22. White looks to have a nice pitch and win but it's Black who turns the tables and does likewise. 14-9 ! 5-14 32-28 ! (for the 2 for 1) however....... 22-26 ! 30-23 7-11 !
