The more I see these Episodes with Gui, the more I notice him in a movie every so often and it never ceases to put a dumb smile on my face.
Same! Seriously dude is all over the place
truee
Yeeessss
YES
Same everytime I see winter soldier
"It's almost Valentine's Day, so we're gonna share lover's quarrel scenes"
Proceeds to show a ton of clips from War movies.
Hey, sometimes a mommy nation and a daddy nation have a falling out over Crimea. It happens.
Father Germany once became too aggressive so Mother Russia and her besties America and Britain had to stage an intervention 🤷♂️
Well they say love is war
Love is a Battlefield
Kaguya sama
Pirates of the caribbean, when he walks down the stairs when the ship blows up.
that's probably more a visual effects shot than a stunt and I think they reacted to it before? not sure though.
I wanna see how they did the Isla Cruces water wheel fight scene.
I'm consistently so impressed with the horses in action scenes. Animals in general, but horses are so prevalent. Whenever I see a horse doing any kind of stunt I'm always in awe.
I’m just glad we have visual effects now because some of those stunts back in the golden age and even the silver age of movies were brutal to the horses. Like the full gallop and then trip lining them. So brutal. To be fair to the golden age stuntman and actors they also did brutal stunts but man those horses.
Yea unfortunately almost all of those amazing "stunts" shown here are horses being tripped up or otherwise forced to fall.
Yeah im really glad this added to the hype of Waterloo, history buffs video on that got super big and blew everyone's minds those soviets just straight up did all that, horses and all haha
Not only real..but 100% historically accurate to what happened, the Brits forming squares to put off the calvary charge
Any episode with Gui is always a treat!
>o
Gui Fieri
Def checking out warrior this weekend. Thanks for showing it Gui
Always a fan fav
GUIIIII
gui's smile when clint called him their best friend is made my day
😇
Gui is so fucking cute man. What a guy
I binged the whole of Warrior after seeing this. It's freaking amazing!! I really hope that a third season gets greenlit, these guys totally deserve it.
It just did.
Wish granted
Honestly Im glad this and History Buffs bring attention to Waterloo, it absolutely dumps all over the crappy new Napoleon movie haha, the historical accuracy and epicness is beyond reason. Compared to Dunkirk that had 6 guys on the beach instead of half a million, an intact city and only 3 planes haha..if you can't do extras that's what CG is for
I've Just started watching warrior because of this and it was worth . the show needs more recognition than it has
Season 3 is coming!
@@superdupersubby I hope so
man the director literally recreated the battle of waterloo in the movie
The director? The director? That's Lance Henriksen, he's an absolute legend
@@maxwhitworth9178 Wrong comment:)
Gui's face when he said "Of course he did!" to landing the front flip.
Big floppa
To save others having to scrub back to that 5:44
Ah yes, Waterloo. One of the great love stories of our time
I was defeated, you won the war...
...promise to love me forever more!
😜
*just checked the words - it's definitely about a love story!
Waterloo is pure class. Great wide shots and also amazing acting.
Trust me, I know.
Damn right I think Waterloo is an underrated classic. The battle is just epic and crazy as to how they managed to shoot it. I really wish they release the extended version one day.
Absolutely obsessed with how Niko pronounced the word dragons
I came here to say the same thing!
Pricked my ears, where is Niko from? Or is that not regional at all, and only an idiosyncrasy?
Yeah- Dreygons? :). Im thinking Michigan/ North Dakota accent
@@Gnargonaut I think him, Sam, and Brandon are all from Minnesota. They've 'cheated' before in their old Node Spyfall games by using references back to things they all have in the Mid-West that isn't there in LA, like Rainbow Foods and Cubs Grocer or something like that.
Draygens
I worked on Warrior's second season in the Prosthetic Makeup department! Both were shot in South Africa. Was the most incredible experience to work with such talented people!
Finally, they did Warrior, been really excited about them showing it!
I really hope HBO keeps this show going
Shout out to your profession. Helps us actor/stunt performers sell what we do.
@@Koinoyokan01 unfortunately no word yet 😪 all we can do at this point is to petition for it since cinemax cancelled the show after shooting. There are a few going which you can search for and sign. Most of the cast and crew have signed 😅
wow that's cool
Warrior is a really fantastic show I love everything about it
can't wait for season 3
So glad Warrior is getting some recognition. The show is so good in more ways than I can explain, so hopefully HBO makes a third season and continues it
Please watch all the episodes and sign the petition! It's such a good show and deserved to be renewed for season 3
the part with "The Warrior" was too short , that show its awesome and there was so much you didnt talk about
Fun fact: Lance Henriksen wanted another scene with him on fire, but this time in slow motion. That guy is awesome!
I thought that was Lance Henriksen!!! Man good on him for wanting to do more of that
I don't care what the movie is about if it has Lance Henriksen in it i will watch it. He was also great in Mass Effect as Admiral Hackett. His TV show Millennium was also great.
@@thepayne7862 Same here. He's my number one favorite actor and I was lucky enough to meet him. Such a down to earth guy.
@@Rob_Dekker I've never met him, but he always seemed like that kind of guy.
They threw everything at Van Damme and still couldn't hit him. It's like he was a hard target or something.
I LOVE dad jokes. Thanks Valor. 😂
*roll credits*
This reminded me of "Into the Badlands". I think you'd have a blast reacting to it.
So amazing
LOVE THIS SERIES!!! What I think would be cool is seeing “Actors React”, not as much CGI or Stunts, but more “what sells a performance”
this
"A Bridge Too Far" airdrop scene. So many planes, so many people, so many cameras, absolute stunt heaven.
That Waterloo scene and breakdown was intense
I'd love for them to try and work it out like, 'yo gui, if you were the stunt supervisor how would you go about setting this up?' or like niko trying and break down the challenges in directing or smth
It was more a reaction than a breakdown. Which is also cool but could be cooler
I'm going to keep recommending The Villainess, the Korean movie, because there's so many things in that movie you can talk about
Bollywood Stunt Recommendation:
Any stunt Sequence from
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero(2018)
Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota(The Man Who Feels No Pain)(2019)
Speaking of Angelina Jolie, SALT had some pretty unique action scenes
100% agree
Wanted too
Don't forget her fighting and rope hanging in Lara Croft 2. It's one long sequence of stunts.
4:33 Gui is like "no idea what they're talking about, I'm just gonna nod"
Bumblebee - watching the characters interacting with Bee in the garage was crazy
Red Cliff is my all time Favorite! Glad to see it, we need more! with those eyebrows and that beard you know it's Guan Yu the God of War
How about a reaction to Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof”, featuring some great car scenes and stunt work by Zoe Bell
I consider her stuntwork in that movie to literally be the best stunt work of all time. She's FEARLESS.
yes please!
Yes!!
Incredible episode. That D&D tabletop shot just made my heart skip a beat.....
Right?! Can't wait to see the first episode of "Son of a Dungeon"!
Is this show run by Carmichael? Didn't he have a D&D channel?
made the D&D nerd in me weep a little on the inside.
Corridor Role
Will any of the D&D episodes be on youtube?
The way Niko says Dungeons and Draegons. 😂
That child like enthusiasm in Gui's voice and on his face when he says "Oh another Hard Target?" Even though he is one of the best stunt men in the world you still see that child like wonder that only a John Woo movie can illicit. My favorite I guess guest I mean he has hosted in the more recent videos.
I don't think I can watch the elevator scene from Winter Soldier anymore. Every time I jump up and shout "THAT'S GUI!"
I did that like a week ago!
mann... "WARRIOR" is THE most underrated show i've ever seen.
Fr
@@EnanTheEarthling yeah man😢😢😢
im so sad it got canceled
i hope it gets picked up
@@waschbar3309 let's see what happens!!!👍
if ppl watch the show, I'm pretty sure will regret didn't watch before. my imdb 8.9 for the show. specially when the fight has come 💪😌
I really enjoyed Mr and Mrs Smith when it first came out. The action scenes really sold it for me. The story was alright, but I really did get taken in from the stunts going on. The highway scene had me on edge in theaters. None of my friends or family saw it in the same light. I don't know what they were expecting, but the action was vastly underappreciated, that much I remember.
Literally binged from episode 1.. I am a huge cinephile, so I cant thank you enough for the educational aspect of the breakdowns and awesome cinema recommendations!
If you haven't watched Warrior and you are here just go and watch it... It's two seasons of magnificent Stunts, cast and a thrilling storyline...Fingers crossed for season 3
Playing D&D with Clint:
Master: "You see an Elf in the forest and..."
Clint: "What is an elf?"
Master flips the table XD
its a genuine question, whts an elf?
@@Curts_videocassette elfs are the friends we made along the way
I just recently watched Guns Akimbo and I loved it! I'd love to see you guys react to that, maybe the final gun fight?
I'm getting Hard Target right now!!!
It is so cool and badass. John Woo's best Hollywood film action wise.
Tis awesome movie dude!!
Coming out in 4K soon
Tenet has some crazy action shots in the climax that really sells the forward and backward travel of time. It has to be my favorite scene from any movie I’ve seen in the las ten years. I love the shot when they blow up a building backwards in time and then forwards in a different part of the building. It’s insane.
*SPOILERS FOR TENET*
The hallway fight scene between the Protagonist and his inversed self was also well choreographed, they actually had to plan how to perform it in rehearsals to make it sell the inversion of one of them.
Not to mention all the stunts that they had to do forward AND backwards and sell the idea that a normal guy was fighting an inverted guy from multiple angles. Absolutely nuts.
So nice they are making big budget movies made specifically for autistic people
"With those eye brows you know he's got some skills"
-Niko
You guys have to see, if you didn’t yet, the korean movie “The Man From Nowhere”, the last fight is awesome!!!!
I'm so happy you guys started doing this show. It's put me onto multiple great shows. Warrior is one of my favorite tv shows of all time now, and I only know about it, because of this video.
“Break away glass is not a pillow”
-Gui
Uh
Gui said that
Maybe we need some clips with breakaway pillows... pillow fights!
You telling me I've been doing it all wrong this whole time?
*Actually! Gui said it*
Especially to us who are bald. I have scalp scars from break aways
You should react to “Tora Tora Tora”. There’s a shot where a plane landing goes of the rails and you can see all the actors running for their lives. Crazy stuff.
In the movie Sholey, There are many epic stunts. People falling downhill, jumping from building to building, and all of them without pads or much of any protective equipments.
That's a great idea!
YAY GUI'S BACK!
The clip from Red Cliff, the dude you guys described as "the boss" with those amazing eyebrows-- that's Guan Yu, famous for his skill with the glaive/halberd type polearm weapon. He's considered a Legendary Hero in Chinese classical literature (as is Zhang Fei, the dude with the crazy black beard/hair), which is probably why he's depicted as mowing down those footsoldiers so easily.
Fearless with Jet li - there's a scene where the guy FULLY eats it after falling when jet li has a revenge fight with a kid when he's grown up, it's savage.
As a sound designer, I'd love if you guys tried out a Sound Designers react. A lot of people forget that audio helps bring the VFX and stunt work to life. Sound can even turn a scene into something different! Like, adding cartoon sounds to a Bruce Lee scene. I'd love some breakdowns of some audio if you guys ever feel up for it! Love you guys!
Sound and music in movies/series is so underrated
New movies dont do sound that much anymore
Whenever I hear a movie with good sound: 'ohhhhhh, fhat.sound mixing...that score it is soooo gooodd😍👌'
Daredevil S2: E3 hallway and stairwell fight, lots of hidden cuts!
they've already reacted to that, ages ago. He's even in the thumbnail
As soon as you guys brought up Yang I couldn't help but remember his line in the Far Cry video "F*cking Robots." That line really stuck with me, its just so perfectly executed lol
What if you guys did “sound guys react” and react to all different aspects of audio in cinema. E.g music composition, sound fx, sound design etc. As a sound guy myself I would love it!
I feel that you as a sound guy should make a video like that. I would definitely watch it.
I agree with you. I think they could even go father, such as make up, set designs, or even costumes. I always loved watching the extra features from dvds but feel they have lost so much depth.
@@KrazyErwin haha maybe if i find the time to sit down and do some research, i might just consider it :)
I recommended Waterloo a few months ago. Its my fav film ever. The Napoleanic War is my favourite part in history. Live you for finally listening thank you xxxx
Yeah that film is a masterpiece, both from an artistic perspective and historical perspective.
I am a little bit late, but yay! Thank you guys for reacting to Warrior with Gui! Literally what I've been hoping for!
You should compare: The Mask and The son of the Mask, I think that would be a pretty funny comparison
if you are impressed by 'Waterloo', look the movie, why he get the job: sergei bondarchuk 'war and peace'
YEA
PLEASE war and peace, yes
4:47 I’m sorry but that was the cutest “hell yeah” I’ve ever seen
All these videos y’all do are legit crazy!! Huge fan!
It's always nice to see your vids guys. Thanks
You should do a whole episode with Ming-Na Wen... Agent May should get some love here.
Still waiting for Jackie Chan to be a guest 😁
That would be the ultimate stuntman react episode.
If First We Feast could get Gordon Ramsay on their show, I have no doubt Jackie Chan will eventually come on theres too.
He lives in china now, he makes local speeches often about how hong kong should get in line and stop protesting about freedoms, also speeches about how tiawan is a province of china......
@lolzyking if Hongkies were protesting for freedom they wouldn’t be waving the flags of the people who colonized them and used to straight up massacre protesters lmao. They just say that shit so gullible Americans support them
Woo! Been waiting for more of this!
My man Gui is out here rockin Off White 1s super casually. Love to see em beat like that
Shoutout to the actor? The actor? That's Lance Henriksen, he's an absolute legend, not just "the actor"! I'd love to see a Stuntmen React to movies only starring him, you have a bazillion to choose from 😄
Thank you! I'm honestly a little surprised no one recognized him. And, seriously, that was such a badass moment.
I came here for this.
YES! Amazing actor. His voice is so badass. Very surprised that you didn't know who he was... He was the ffing Bishop in the greatest scifi actionmovie ever!!!
And who remembers Millennium tv-show. Came after x-files with same producers and was so much better..IMHO..
Just because Gui said "the actor" doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't know his name
@@eyob.t1389 It is exactly what it means...
Please react to war and peace (1967) by Sergej Bondartsjoek. Its like Waterloo but even bigger and crazier
I'm very much inspired by you guys. Thanks for all the work you do!
Love to see Gui! Great commentary
You have no idea how happy I was to see Waterloo get some of the recognition and praise it deserves
Warrior is a dope show. I’m surprised it doesn’t get as much attention because it’s one of the better “martial arts” show and well-written show inspired by Bruce Lee’s writings.
Well, it's on HBOMax. Had a free trial of the service. 99.999∞% of the time, the damned service didn't work. So that's why more people likely don't know about it.
Such a badass show just watched it this week
I've been begging for them to react to Warrior, Gui is the man for bringing some clips with him, Warrior is gold.
That and Into the Badlands
I mean it got mad hype the year it came out🤷♀️
I just remembered the shows Hawaii Five-O and Burn Notice.
I'd love to see you guys react to the fights and stunts on either of those shows!
great series, thank you so much!
"We pulled up some very special love related scenes"
Van Damm doing frontflip in front of an explosion 😂😂😂
Thanks for talking about "warrior" .An underrated series
In almost every new episode I discover films to add on my watch list. This Waterloo one looks amazing!
You won’t be disappointed. It’s one of those movies where at some points you can’t believe how far the camera’s zooming out… only for it to keep going. It’s not quite as narratively gripping as Gettysburg, for example, but it’s fantastic to watch just for the scale (plus Christopher Plummer does a great job as Wellington).
The opening fight scene in Auqaman, looks like a single shot multi-angle, but one of the best opening fights around, would like to hear GUI’s opinion on it 🙌
Oh yeah that was filmed so fucking cleanly damn please I hope they react to that! 😂🙏
I love how Sam gets distracted and basically becomes a viewer of the show, while doing Son of a Dungeon stuff
I'd love to see some examples of bad stunts still. Don't get me wrong, these stunts in here are cool, but I like to see the contrast between the really great stuff and the really bad stuff. That way you can still call this series "Bad and Great Hollywood Stunts," haha
Really happy to see Waterloo :)
You guys could react to the entirety of HBO's Barry if you haven't already
"Death Becomes Her" with Bruce Willis it has some wacky CGI shots that brings up questions on how they did that.
I like how in Surrogates to de-age Bruce Willis instead of doing a face replacement they just did makeup and lighting and then hand painted out his face wrinkles for every shot.
@@chrismofer Never seen the film, but I checked the trailer. It weirds me out I can't believe they went that route with the makeup. Considering the work done with the surrogates
@@steven1780 i hadn't looked since a decade ago. with my modern eyes he looks so soft and blur brushed lmao
Good film that
I liked the kitchen fight scene in Tenet, seemed so clean for the protagonist, so low effort for him. Really badass. Also the final battle is just something I have never seen before. Amazing, would love to see that.
Fantastic yeah
for me, I was blown away when I saw the shots from french movie "Nicky Larson et le parfum de Cupidon", vfx and all stunts are just remarcable
Gui is my fave person on this show. He is the man.
These guys need to do VFX artists react to commercials good and bad CGI
@Crimson Demon There are tons of commercials with expensive cgi. Pick almost anything from super bowl ones.
Have you seen Ryan Reynolds latest one?
Glad they finally talked about “Warrior.” Best action show on the air (or not, I think it got canned recently). Regardless, deserving of so much more attention than it gets/got.
Not canceled, just checked lol
everyone simply canceled HBO after GoT x.x
Share the show and sign the petition to renew season 3!
Nooooo! I got into that show when I visited my parents. They are still paying out the ass for Directv and had free Cinemax at the time and I watched the whole first season that weekend. Sorry mon and dad. Love that show!
Warrior is an so under-rated show. I love the fight scene and I love the story. It currently has 2 seasons, but the sad thing is that we don't know if there is gonna be a season 3. Warrior was produced by cinemax, which got bought by the HBO. The future is not clear, but I hope we actually get a season 3. I really love the show.
How have I never heard of Warrior before?!?!?! New binge watch inc, thanks so much guys!
Warrior is one of the best shows. No filler episodes, story moving always forward. I really hope HBO continues it.
1 filler episode. That one that was more of a wild west cowboy show. It felt very disconnected from the rest. They mentioned something from that episode later though but that one could have been taken away and it would have changed nothing frrm the major story line.
I did like that episode but I really did have to stop it and go back and see if I had missed an episode before it cause it felt so random. And then the episode after, nothing was even mentioned from that episode. It was like that episode had not happened until later on when something gets mentioned from that episode many episodes later.
And yes I would like one more season.
VFX artists react: Harry Potter: Deathly hallows pt. 1. When they all become Happy Potter :)
I don't think anybody was happy in that movie
Lots of shooting Daniel Radcliffe, and lots of rotoscoping.
All the harry potters have great effects. Chamber of secrets with the basilisk looks amazing for the time
I wanna see y’all react to the one shot fight scene from Cobra Kai Season 2 finale cuz that was cool
Hey! Another video with Gui and I haven't seen it yet! YAY!
Check out _Sergei Bondarchuk's_ *War and Peace* (1965). Biggest battle scene ever - according to trivia: 12,000 extras, 1,500 horses and 200 firing cannons. The director had two heart attacks in 2 years of filming this epic among epics.
Isn’t Waterloo bigger?
Would be really cool to have a special about stunt animals, specially horses. Like actually you guys visiting a stable where they're trained and see what it is.
Would be really hard to do given quarantine protocols
@@kjj26k That would be really cool! never crossed my mind that there is actually stunt animals!
upvoting this! this is such a great idea!!
Yeah, but who would they get as a guest? Rolf the Danger Dog?
@@SwitchAndLever Hmm.. What about Joe?
Finally someone gives waterloo some love it deserves
I'm so gonna watch warrior now. Also really grateful for the historical context for Bruce and why the show was made.
Please watch it! It's such a good show and deserved to be renewed for season 3
Warrior is the most underrated show no cap, if you haven't watched it YOU SHOULD it's more than worth it and needs a season 3
Warrior is the best show in 2 years (just a fact), is so underrated (sadly).
Cast, action, choreography, photography, plot. With the 2nd season the series has reached the masterpiece !
Thanks guys.
Please watch all the episodes and sign the petition! It's such a good show and deserved to be renewed for season 3
2:46 I remember watching this scene for the first time, I laughed soooo much; and watching the 20th (?) time, I still laugh about the same way. It's so simple, and obvious, that many other movies just wouldn't do something like this, let alone focus on this as some "proper" action scene.
The parting of the Red Sea in 1956 The Ten Commandments was one of those revolutionary effects.
