Genesis 19:24 "Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven" The word LORD in that verse is Yahweh. You have Yahweh in two locations simultaneously. attempted to respond to Wes's comment about: Jesus never going to India, or far East. First, I pointed out the verse, where Jesus, as a Child, was in the Temple, making a very big impression on the Teachers and Priest. And Jesus told his parents that he must be about his father's business ( even that age ). The Next Point that I made, was: if Jesus had continued going back to that temple, every Sabbath; till he was grown, he would have been very well known by everyone at that temple, for all of his knowledge, insights, wisdom in the Torah and the Prophets, as he grew older. He probably also would have been helping the Teachers and Priests in the Temple, every Sabbath, as well. But later, in the very beginning Jesus' ministry, he stands at the front of the congregation in the Temple, and implies that he's the Messiah; and crowd wonders who he is ? Then, someone says: "Isn't he the son of Joseph and Mary ? They say it like they barely even know him; as they attempted to kill him. All of that implies that he hadn't been back to that Temple, since he was very young. So, he must have gone somewhere else. far enough away, where news about him would not have reached the area, where his parents lived. My Post was remove after a couple of days; and I have no idea Why ? .
Billy Carson and Alex O'Connor are prime examples of Dunning-Kruger. Admittingly, maybe we all are to a degree. The point being, if someone at a high level concerning the subject matter says something you don't understand, be like Wes, ask clarifying questions. Maybe you learn something or understand how/why they think what they do. Maybe you can help guide them to your understanding, that's how we grow in knowledge... dialogue. Outside of that, Strongholds are built, progress stops and society fails to evolve.
The Trinity Explained: Imagine a rope with three knots. Each knot is distinct but still part of the same rope. This illustrates the Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons, yet fully united as one God. Here's a clearer view: Rope: Represents God as a unified being. Knots: Represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-distinct but still part of the same rope (God). Even if one part, like the Son, is emphasized, it's still connected to the whole. Similarly, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct yet inseparable as one God.

''The Final Boss in religious rebuttals , Alex O'Connor ''😂😂😂 Ruslan is funny
Then mel gibson goes on to get everything wrong about the pope and Catholics as a whole 😅 like always its the jews that get platformed like this channel 😂
After all of these interviews about Christianity, Alex may have felt something stirring within his spirit and it has made him frightened and angry at the fact that this stuff might be true. (Which it is)
Now he is looking for any reason to reaffirm his decision of atheism. In these short clips it seems almost insecure, very different from the other videos/clips I have seen of Alex.
Or maybe I am looking to far into it. *shrugs*
It's time for people to stop expecting others to be Verbal Superheroes.
Exactly, the world expects Christians to be 100% perfect except themselves. Yet Christianity teaches that we all fall short of the glory of God. So grace is needed here
A lot of people commenting on Wes Huffs videos don't read the Bible but have an opinion about the Bible. Let's start by reading the Bible!
Amen to this! I believe that the Isaiah scrolls are correct, more correct than we could’ve hoped for and give context and evidence of what scholars have suspected. The fact that we have Isaiah to begin with is a miracle of the Lord Himself, and the scrolls are a massive flex for Christ’s divinity.
It must be infuriating to consider that intelligence can’t compare to wisdom.
Right?!
@@Jojo-mc7ku the two are distinct for a reason. Wisdom has greater worth yet intelligence is what most depend on. The wise expect growth in humility, the intelligent struggle with that. Proverbs 1:5
mmm it takes wisdom just to realize that wisdom trumps intelligence though.. The unwise will believe they are the same thing.
Honestly, I thought Alex was becoming more open-minded in his discussion on Christianity in recent times, but it feels like he regressed with this video and became more like his former self. I expected more from you, Alex.
It seems like lately he has forgotten everything he learned in class and decided to side with some of the worst rhetoric possible a la Aron Ra
It’s a very strange development with Alex.
The most charitable interpretation is that he makes content he thinks his followers like.
I‘m not sure anymore about all the other things he is saying.
He was riding the fame wave to capitalise on the Christian clicks and views.
maybe he will pull a Dillahunty.
That's because what appeared to be an "open mindedness" phase was just a facade he was putting on.
He couldn't resist letting the mask slip, because he saw Wes getting a lot of attention and quickly rising, and thought he could easily dismantle him in the way Wes dismantled Billy Carson.
But Alex thought wrong..unshockingly.
A guy agreeing with the guy reacting to the guy that’s reacting to another guy that was reacting to another guy that was reacting to the first guy !!
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣

All impressions of Alex OConnor from now on must be done in an Irish accent.
Love Truth Unites and Gavin Ortlund. Helping me understand why I’m Protestant and exemplifies charity toward the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions.
Love this, Wes huff is the real deal.
This is an example of people who argue to be right vs debating to grow. I’m glad that people are sticking up for Wes, with more depth in research.
Zach doing an Irish Alex O'connor impression is the best bit of this whole thing 😂
As a Mormon, we don’t claim Dan Mclellen. I don’t think he believes in anything.

The nitpicking is ridiculous. 🙄
Wes just dropped a video responding to himself 😂
It includes the controversy over the Isaiah scroll

Zach had me dying at 3:15 😂 why’s this man not doing stand-up
Same!!!😂😂😂😂
I was laughing hard.
You mean language changes within a 1000 years? No way!! 😂
I know about Alex O'Connor from an older video he made. In it, he tries to say objective morality isn't possible because even if God is real, whatever he says is just, like, his opinion man. It's sad to see that his arguments have not improved since then.
Lol im not catholic but I'll hands down rock w MEL GIBSON! Not just the braveheart and apacalypto days, God bless MEL! ESPECIALLY some of this he saying on the news straight up in a way other wont. Love Mel, God bless his walk! Much love to Ruslan his family and the whole crew, especially in this difficult season. So grateful for all of you! 💓🙏🏻
He called out the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church
@@SunnyLovettsPope said all religions lead to God and i think its blesphemy thats how satan decieves people Yall should dive in ortodoxy but i think whoever believes christ is god is our brothers and sisters there is no time for division now
You're gonna wanna do some more research and stop fanboying. Be careful. Don't trust false doctrine
Mel is a great artist, great story teller - but he is not actually Catholic. Nobody is arguing against him pointing out issues, legitimate issues, but he spreads a lot of lies about the real church too.
@@IrishOKC for example ?
Alex reminding us that, yeah, he is still a blind atheist even though he has tried to be more objective.
Insane how they treat obvious fakes as fact and nitpick the slightest of meanings in overwhelmingly reliable text.
That’s so cool Ruslan that you gave a BIG shout out to Gavin! Luv Wess, Gavin & Ruslan for all make learning
& discussing the Biblical text something worthy of one’s mind time! It’s SO refreshing & needed in our secular culture where the physical is put above the spiritual. I love too how scholars & thinkers all have their unique voice & observations - The Divine never makes copies!
If he's taking heat, then he is doing it right 😎👌
Alex, Wes, Gavin, Trent . . . . . Beginning to realize apologists have a symbiotic relationship with each other. One needs another to produce content so another can respond and it goes on an on. Apologetics has its place but it's easy to get sucked in and equate it with growing in faith.
Is that objective or subjective
Why would learning more about God and the great things he's done not be a way to grow in faith?
@@zke1085 The difference is that Alex does it because it’s his job and to maintain his branding and image and income. Wes does not. He does it because of his faith to preach the gospel, not for himself but for God. Wes doesn’t actually need anyone, but Alex needs Christians to step on and nitpick at.
Trent Horn just made a video about this.
Alex is purposely creating beef with the huff!
He just wants to get in on the action,Alex is just plain old boring these days same old bankrupt arguments!!

10:00 if Jesus wasn’t claiming to be God or equal to God then why did the Pharisees claimed he did?
@@gregorytremain4086 , to the point that they conspired to the roman government to have Jesus executed because jewish law doesn't have death penalty at the time.
Because they were dishonestly seeking ways to destroy him, so much so, that their efforts led to his crucifixion... He's the only begotten son of God, but he never claimed to be Yahweh his God
@@itsdashoesClaiming to be the Son of God in the cultural context is the same as claiming to be God.
And throughout his ministry Jesus very much claim to be God
@joshuamelton9148 No it isn't. Adam was called the Son of God. Angels were called sons of God as well, and the Jews didn't adopt polytheism because of it. There is only One Yahweh, and He is the biological Father of the man Jesus Christ.
@@itsdashoes Actually it is. What you may not know in 2nd Temple Judaism they actually heard to what is known as the Two Powers of Heaven.
In other words there is Yahweh who is Spirit and Yahweh who took on Human form and you see this alot in the Old Testament in the form of the Angel of the LORD/The Angel of GOD.
Genesis 19:24 "Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven"
The word LORD in that verse is Yahweh. You have Yahweh in two locations simultaneously.
And no this is not the Royal We that Kings and Queen use in this text.

As a non-Protestant, I’m a big fan of Gavin. Don’t agree with him completely (obviously) but he’s intelligent and well-thought out.
attempted to respond to Wes's comment about: Jesus never going to India, or far East.
My Post was remove after a couple of days; and I have no idea Why ?
.
Wes Huff just did a video on the Wes Huff channel debunking Wes Huff
Who’s here because we just want the cliff notes to all of these reactions 😂
Billy Carson and Alex O'Connor are prime examples of Dunning-Kruger. Admittingly, maybe we all are to a degree. The point being, if someone at a high level concerning the subject matter says something you don't understand, be like Wes, ask clarifying questions. Maybe you learn something or understand how/why they think what they do. Maybe you can help guide them to your understanding, that's how we grow in knowledge... dialogue. Outside of that, Strongholds are built, progress stops and society fails to evolve.
Lol, "scathing takedown" is not how I would have articulated it, but I think Gavin did a good job defending some of what Wes said
The Trinity Explained: Imagine a rope with three knots. Each knot is distinct but still part of the same rope. This illustrates the Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons, yet fully united as one God.
Here's a clearer view:
Rope: Represents God as a unified being.
Knots: Represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-distinct but still part of the same rope (God).
Even if one part, like the Son, is emphasized, it's still connected to the whole. Similarly, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct yet inseparable as one God.
I hate the fact that Wes DIDN'T ask for the spotlight, he just answered questions at the best of his knowledge and did a great job debunking a liar like Billy and the all these "christians" come out of there cave just, with all this envy en jealousy trying to take away some spotlight, that he didn't asked, just so everyone would say "they are better" SMH 🤦🏻
Awesome part about Wes is that his god confidence while be humble in his delivery of truth.
I feel like I’m watching Inception 🤯
Most of Alex's rebuttals are Bart Ehrmans anyways, most of these are verbatim Ehrmans points
Should have Bart debate Wes. Now that would be interesting.
100%, nothing new or shocking about what Alex is saying...maybe for Ruslan and this weird Protestant echo chamber, but I digress
Critique of a critique of a critique of an interview. RUclips inception is fun :)
This is getting RIDIC! People looking to RUclips to get their views on the Bible is seriously the microwave version of Biblical knowledge. We are in a cascading decline of knowledge where people ESPECIALLY Christians don't go deep in prayer for their answers from God.
100% this
It’s not wrong to learn. Watching a video doesn’t mean you don’t know your Bible. What are you even complaining about? An unbeliever was saying things that were not true about The word and someone responded to it and defended The Gospel, get a grip my brother in Christ.
@ There is nothing inherently wrong with YT content, I have learned a ton from videos. It becomes problematic when it replaces your personal faith walk and you don’t seek your own answers and convictions in prayer. Video content works best as an aid, not the main course.
@@StormyKnight24 yeah if someone is relying solely on YT for their walk with God than something needs to be explained to them. We don’t live by bread alone but by ever word that comes from God. Daily reading the scriptures will help you grow in wisdom and maturity in Jesus.
Genuine question, but what if you dont understand a verse and pray about it? God is 99.999% not gonna answer you audibly, so thats why people go to youtube etc to learn from people more knowledgeable
Love your content. keep up the good work!👍
Jealous Alex came out of the woodworks but angrier then usual. Maybe he had Billy boy cheering him on in the background. 😂
What’s the point of the ginger kid. Why’s he wearing at hat? Why does he think mocking someone’s accent is an effective argument? Why is he adding nothing? WHY IS HE THERE

Mel Gibson is not Catholic - he may say he is but he is in direct and public opposition to magisterium
The sad thing is most of Alex’s audience will never see any rebuttals. They think it was a slam dunk and nothing else needs to be said.

I saw capturing Christianity talk about the Huff podcast and it seems more like a Catholic propaganda video. What happened to that guy?
Mel Gibson is not Catholic...
Honestly I think Alex was just jealous. He turns his scepticism up and down like he wants to.
He even starts his video by cynically calling Wes " the new rising star"
I think deep down he thinks he deserved that spot on Joe Rogan and not Wes.
You can even find arguments for that ,but that doesn't make it fair to pump out a video putting everything Wes said in the worst lighting.
But on the flipside if that's all he could find from 3 hours conversation, Wes did a pretty good job.
Sounds like Mrs. doubtfire
Can't wait to see everyone's reaction to these reactions
Appreciated the video. Good for some lolz to see a reaction video of the fallout from this watershed moment in the kingdom work in our modern culture. I'll be back for more.

The ability of these documents to spread so prolifically in all different directions and be anywhere similar to what we have today is an act of the divine. It takes true spiritual blindness to not see this with evidence that has been presented.
I’m only watching now for Zac’s impressions🙂
as a catholic, no mel gibson does not represent us. he is outside of the church.
Sigh. I STILL wish Wes had not said it the way he did. He should have mentioned the spelling variants and tiny differences, as insignificant in meaning as they are.
He made a video addressing this today
Sure he needs to mention every little thing and spoon feed you all before you use your own reasoning? How does spelling differences between the Dead Sea scrolls and the Hebrew text, change the Bible or your faith ? It’s ridiculous to expect perfection in a human conversation neither are YOU perfect in that regard.
I used to watch all the conspiracy of religion stuff. I’m glad this sort of content is blowing up because it’s brought me back to faith. Thank you Mr.huff, and thank you Ruslan. I appreciate you putting on for other Christian intellectuals. I’ve subscribed to Gavin and hope to continue educating myself on these topics.
Ok maybe the takedown wasn't SCATHING, Gavin is too charitable for that (thankfully), but it was magnificent 😂

Alex is losing peace, I can see it...and it is hilarious and sad at the same time.
God be blessed for given us so many scholars on his word than we can count on to piece together his message through history so we can step on a more solid foundation when facing people that either want to diminish it or simply have been blinded by misinformation by detractors!
This is what happened when you debate premeses instead of arguments.
A reaction to a reaction of a reaction!! Love it!
