- The King and Queen paid a visit to Edinburgh Castle for a special event to mark the 900th anniversary of the city. It comes after Their Majesties attended a service celebrating the Order of the Thistle at St Giles' Cathedral on Wednesday morning. . Report by Louise Kennedy.

@@Valhalla88888 King Charles is our King, as of right. There is a separate Crown for Scotland because King James VI of Scotland, United both thrones that he inherited.
King James of Scotland inherited the Thrones of:
Scotland (a Kingdom)
And
England + Wales and Ireland (his second Kingdom).
King James therefore created the United Kingdom.
I don't understand why people make that statement as Scotland is an equal Kingdom, in terms of Royalty.
I know you were making a positive statement but I find it strange. We don't say eg "England always welcomes the King and the Royal Family".
We are an equal Kingdom or possibly the main one, because of our Scottish King.
